After I first tried this tea, it has been called my crack tea. It’s so good you almost want to snort it. I never would, of course. Just don’t let it steep too long or it gets bitter.

The leaves are so light and fluffy, and after brewing you get this very delicate flavored tea. It’s the type of tea you sip while contemplating things. It’s quite enjoyable paying attention to the nuances of things…

This tea is alright. It’s got the fruitiness going for it, but I caught on to undertones of bitterness and the entire thing seemed off kilter. There is a pleasant blackberry taste to it, but I’m afraid it doesn’t bail the rest of the flavors out. There are many better options to get that berry flavor you’re looking for, though.

Honey

Forgot to rate! DUH. I would rate it 45. How the heck do you fix your rating? hmm.

If other mate teas did not help you kick your habit of coffee, this one is much more likely to do the trick since it has multiple strong flavors that really provide that kick-in-the-face that coffee sometimes has. I found this mate to be much stronger than MateVana and My Morning Mate. The vanilla flavor is well blended with a strong, almost toasted nut sort of taste. Even though the flavors are all strong, they are very well balanced and provide a long tea finish that will hold you over until your next sip. I put in an extra 1/2 tsp for a bit stronger taste since I’ve done that for the other mate teas, but for this one it may not be necessary. Just know that if you want it stronger, just toss in another teaspoon and let it jump start your day!

I was not impressed with this tea and I am head over heals for flavored oolongs. It seemed watered down and the taste was not too interesting. Maybe I will try it brewed double-strengthed (then maybe I can use it up twice as quickly and free up a tin for some other tea!)

Wow…this tea…wow. As someone who is very sensitive to bitter tastes, I tend to shy away from black tea. This tea does not have that problem though. I followed the directions and the result is this wonderful smooth black tea that, when iced and sweetened, there are some dangerous consequences-you CANNOT go back to buying $5 or $6 per ounce black tea. At least I can’t. Guess what happened when I tried? I brewed one cup of the cheap stuff and said to hell with the cost! This truly is the champagne of black tea, plus you can re-infuse the leaves at least 3x and it still tastes good. So, even though it is more pricey up front, the fact that it tastes so great and you can brew multiple cups speaks for itself.

I really want to say I love this tea, because it seems that almost everyone loves it. What’s not to love? A caffeinated fruity-lemony tea that you can have iced on summer mornings? However, in good conscience I can’t say that. I have almost forced myself to make this tea in hopes that one time when I do it, I will fall in love with it but every single time I think “gosh this is wayyyy too lemony.” Therefore, I think it’s just my preference for sweeter versus sour things that sets my opinion apart from most others on this tea. I have been able to take care of this problem with mixing with the Weight To Go! Pu-erh Tea, which helps balance out the citrus flavor. However, I would rather recruit a cup of chai to slap me out of it in the a.m.!

I absolutely LOVE this blend. It is so summery and is just bursting with citrus and blueberry flavor. The store associate told me that they brew this mixture for 10 minutes with 1tsp rock sugar for every 8oz. I brew it it double strength and pour it over ice so the flavor gets locked in and I can enjoy it cold pretty quick. It’s helpful to point out that this blueberry bliss is VERY versatile. It’s basically the base I use to mix with other fruity teas to enjoy over the summer. This is especially impressive because I tend to be a more savory or spice tea person, which I usually enjoy in the winter because I prefer them hot. However, I did not enjoy the pineapple as much alone as I do when it is blended. This may be because I am not a huge citrus person though. If you have any reservations – just try it. It truly is wonderful. Just follow my brewing recommendations and you won’t be happier :)

I absolutely loved the Gyokuro Green Tea, but I was looking for a way to save money and the salesperson at Teavana recommended I try the same thing but with Genmaicha in it. Basically, genmaicha are bits of toasted rice.

This tea is GREAT. If you you are mindful of the temperature and time, you get a smooth and toasted flavor green tea. Plus, you can re-infuse the leaves at least 3x (and I found the 2nd and 3rd brew as even more wonderfully complex tasting). If you like green tea and the idea of it also tasting toasted appeals to you, you must try this tea. Just be sure you follow the directions carefully!! I use organic honey in this to add a tiny bit of sweetness, but I’ve tried it without and it’s still very good.

When brewing, I actually set the timer for 35 seconds so the tea won’t oversteep- that way by the time it drains out it’s been about the recommended 45 seconds. As someone who is very sensitive to bitter taste, properly brewing this tea left NO bitterness.
