A solid tea – I drink it alot in the evenings and I was surprised at how much I have gone through since getting this – we’re going to have to order more soon. I have said it before, I’m sure, but this one is a staple in my tea collection.

Sigh. I am drinking the last of this right now. I am going to bump the rating down though, because I can’t seem to recreate the flavor I had in the 1st steep. I am drinking this with homemade poundcake though, which is quite a nice pairing.
Still, I will miss this now that it’s gone – I will likely have to get some more at some point.

I love this so, so, so much. I haven’t had this in a while and my first sip just about knocked me flat – yummy toasted coconut goodness. Yummy coconut dessertness that has no caffeine which means I can drink it whenever I want….

I steep 1 tbsp. of this in 500 ml water for 10 minutes, and that makes the most amazing cup. I have been trying to be careful about rationing this because I want to take some to my mom in the middle of March when I come visit for her birthday, because she loves coconut even more than me. But my bag keeps getting smaller and smaller, and the middle of March is so very far away…

My second of the free samples I got from Life in Teacup. This one had a wonderfully pure, tea-like smell coming from the dry leaves. I brewed 2 tsp. in 500 ml of water, with the steeping parameters below.
The tea itself holds NO bitterness or astringency whatsoever. I wouldn’t call it sweet (mostly because sweet to me means actual sugar, and I’m drinking this with no additives), but there is a woodsy, honey-like note in the background, that really makes it feel like the black tea that it is.
A very nice, high quality tea.

drank JavaVana Mate by Teavana

True test of caffeination will be tonight, I think. I have an exam in the morning, and as is typical of me, I have procrastinated in properly learning the material. So, seriously, Javavana mate, DO NOT FAIL ME NOW. I need a whole lot of energy if I’m going to learn (er, absorb) all this medical jargon before the morning.

UPDATE:
So, I’m not as big a fan of the taste of this tea as I remembered – but I will keep the rating the same, because MAN, that was the most awake and focused I have been in a long time. I will have to keep this on hand just to get me through nursing school, if nothing else.

You may have noticed (if you look in my cupboard that is), but I tend to gravitate toward flavored teas. Like, strongly flavored desserty teas. But I won the Valentine’s contest by Life in Teacup, which was very fortuitous indeed – it got me back to the roots of really good, basic tea.

This was the first of my samples that I broke open. Upon smelling it I immediately said “flowers!” at the same time that my boyfriend said “grass!”, so in other words, it’s a garden in a cup. After it was brewed the flowers stayed in the smell, but there was also something buttery behind it. Despite that buttery presence the tea was extremely light..the flowers were very present in the taste. It was like springtime on my palate, if that makes any sense.

It made a wonderfully calming ending to the day.

drank Earl Grey Creme by Teavana

Mmm. Drinking this rather late in the morning, but it’s Sunday so that’s allowed. :)
I find that I have to add a little rock sugar to the cup to find the vanilla, but it really is a very nice smooth tea and I enjoy having it for breakfast on lazy weekends.

Tried this again today, upped the steep time to 10 minutes. And I have to bump this rating up. Because it is, if possible, even more wonderful after that.
This tastes….thicker and creamier with the longer steep time. I still get that awesome sweet taste on the swallow, and I can’t believe it’s without caffeine or sugar.
I love this tisane. LOVE. And I have decided I can never be without it ever again.

So, yum.
I got a sample of this as part of the ValenTEAs promotion. At three minutes steeping I got the strawberry flavor and as it cooled there was a nice pastry-esque taste on the swallow. It managed to be tea and fruit and dessert all at once. I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting more of this as soon as I burn through the small amount left…

Oh my god.
I mean seriously. Oh, my god.
I apologize if that’s offensive but it was the least terrible descriptor I could think of that was also accurate. How is it possible that someone is able to translate such yummy food into a tea? It tastes exactly like coconut cheesecake – which is to say, crack. I am SO IN LOVE with this blend.
And so scared that I will be broke because of these teas…

My tea habits:

*I am an unashamed Lipton iced-tea drinker (mass quantities, year round).
*I like hot teas but only in cold weather (and occasionally late summer nights or mornings).
*I love Japanese greens (the more seaweed-y the better) and good strong malty black teas.
*I do NOT love smoke in any form.
*Vanilla, cinnamon, or lemon anything will usually pique my interest.
*I’m working on pu-erh but it’s definitely going to take some time to grow on me.
