drank Toasted Walnut by DAVIDsTEA
59 tasting notes

I had been putting off trying this because I wasn’t big on Forever Nuts. BUT – I consider Toasted Walnut much better.

I found this one of the most complex tasting teas that I’ve ever had. As it was steeping I was struck by a sweet vanilla scent. It took me a second to realize it was my tea.

Upon first taste, I thought vanilla. Second sip, hmm…a bit nutty, a bit toasty, some coconut. Third sip, back to vanilla. I felt like my taste buds kept jumping every time I took a sip. It was cool.

I’d describe this tea as very comforting and smooth. The type of tea you want to have when you’ve been outside all day in the cold.

Although it is a good tea, I don’t see myself making it part of my permanent collection since it’s not OMFG-AMAZING-CRAVING-IT good.

Flavors: Coconut, Nuts, Toasty, Vanilla

Preparation
185 °F / 85 °C 5 min, 30 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

Tea literally gets me through the day. I start with something caffeinated in the morning, then usually a re-steep or less caffeinated tea mid morning and work my way to a herbal by night.

Green tea and oolong are top in my books. I recently discovered that I LOVE genmaicha – but I get why it’s not for everyone. My favourite flavours right now are lime, lavender and mint. I tend to dislike teas that have raisins or hibiscus, and I’m not fond of weak fruit infusions.

A lot of my teas come from Davidstea. I also have some Teavana and Tealish. When I can, I try to pick up unique teas. My most prized tea is a tea from Ste Anne’s Spa in Grafton, Ont called Cinnamon Glow.
