59 Tasting Notes
I’m very open minded when it comes to food and drink. I ordered this because it was on sale and I was ultra curious.
The smell was not quite what I expected. It really made me go “Heh?” I’ve smelled it quite a few times and I still can’t make up my mind on how I feel about it.
So I brewed it. I iced it and took it in my giant travel mug. Tasted it. Not BAD, but not good either. I added hot sauce because I wanted it savoury. Drinkable but still not yum.
I tried again the next time, this time hot. The first thing I picked up on hot was cinnamon. Cinnamon? Really? And I got the sweetness of the raisins. I dumped it down the sink. I have too many nice teas to waste my time drinking something I’m not in love with.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Raisins
I was skeptical. As a s’more lover, I’ve tried many “s’more” flavoured products. How many have actually captured the essence of s’more? NONE.
But at this moment I sit at my computer, eating granola and sipping S’more Oolong. Well done, Teavana. I taste the chocolate, and some how, almost by magic, I taste graham cracker. This feels like the perfect tea as we start rolling into fall. It’s warm and toasty tasting. Reminds me of sitting out by the fire.
A note on the steep time, I tasted it after 3 minutes and it seemed a bit weak so I left the bag in while I drank it.
That being said, I enjoy it – especially for the current price -, but I won’t restock it.
Flavors: Chocolate, Creamy, Graham Cracker, Spices
I’ll save you all the disappointment. Tastes like hibiscus. And it is nearly identical to Davidstea’s Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait. I expected a more sophisticated taste since it’s a delicate white tea base, and David’s is straight up fruit.
I’m thinking a splash of vanilla soy milk might make it nicer, or maybe as a latte… Or I say screw it, brew it all as a great big jug of iced tea and let the husband have at it.
I won’t rate this low because I’m only disappointed that it didn’t have a more complexed and unique flavour – my own fault. And for the price that I paid I should just shut up and drink my tea.
Flavors: Cream, Hibiscus, Strawberry
I had this one in a sampler set. I remember being excited to try it for the first time because I L-O-V-E creme brulee.
I found the tiny half filled tin of it yesterday and decided to finish ’er off. It was better than I had remembered, though my precision in making tea has changed so much since I first picked up this tea.
It tasted less ‘burnt’ than I remembered. I definitely wouldn’t say it tastes like creme brulee. But it’s not bad. It resteeped well at least three times. I wouldn’t be upset if it showed up in another sampler pack, but I won’t be purposely re-stocking.
Flavors: Brown Sugar, Butter, Rooibos, Sweet
I’m shocked this tea has such poor reviews. I LOVE IT. I love the toasted flavour from the rice. I think it suits a green tea. The pineapple flavour is so bold and fresh. I love the smell of the dry tea too.
I love it hot, but it also makes a lovely iced summer tea. Resteeps well. I actually prefer the second or third steep because I find the first a bit too sweet for my taste.
Flavors: Pineapple, Toasted Rice
WOW! Absolutely love this one!! Very flavourful, and definitely sweet! I added nothing to my tea. Iced, this was quite the treat! I only bought 25g to try, but I’ll be getting more.
I love how smooth the lime flavour is.
Flavors: Lime, Mango, Sweet
I loved the smell of the dry tea. It smelled tart and fruity. But when I made it today it was strange. I doesn’t BAD, but there’s something off about the flavour that I dont like. Too artificial maybe? Maybe I’m just not into pomegranate flavour?
I actually feel like I want to give this one away. I’m sure someone will enjoy it more than me.
Flavors: Fruity, Tart
No notes yet. Add one?
I sampled this in store today. I was hoping to like it of course, but I’m not usually a fan of chocolate flavoured teas. I was pleasantly surprised! It didn’t taste like the usual watered down hot chocolate flavour I associate with chocolate flavoured teas. This had a solid cocoa flavour, and a hint of spice.
I received an order from Davidstea yesterday, and this came as a sample! I’m very intrigued since it doesn’t seem to be on the Davids website. (Which was also sort of a let down because if it was good I wanted to order more during the Free Shipping promotion)
The dry tea makes me think of a red lifesaver candy, but with a tropical edge.
My first cup (no sweetener) is a bit tart from the hibiscus, but then I get the coconut notes. The smell of the hot tea is very similar to Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait.
I feel like adding sugar would make the strawberry flavour pop, but I’m avoiding all sweeteners right now.
I brewed extra so I can also try this cold later :)
Flavors: Coconut, Hibiscus, Strawberry
