92 Tasting Notes
I think I figured it out, when somethings tart, I can handle it better cold. Its going to be a new coping mechanism I think. I don’t think this is my favorite, even by a long shot but its far more drinkable cold, and hubs loves it that way so I’m glad I’ve got an enormous amount. (It was that reblend sale they had, it was a tricksy thing that made me buy so much)
Anyone want to look at my cupboard and suggest anything I’ve got that they can recommend cold? I’ll probably try the Pineapple upside down cake from Della Terra next, but I’m not sure where to go after.
This was a generous gift, as I’m leery of trying new teas from teavana, since thier prices are silly high and I don’t want to hate something I spent that much on. I’ve been on a kick about making cold tea in my french press so I can just make it before bed for the morning or when I get home from work for before bed. I decided to try this last night and I was super surpised how good it turned out. I’ve done chocolate teas before, but not anything Oolong, so I was nervous. Its hard to tell how a new tea will turn out with my ‘set it and forget it’ method of tea making lately. But goodness did this turn out well. I can’t say anything for it brewed hot but cold, this is delish and a great way to wake up.
Flavors: Dark Chocolate
Preparation
Been on an iced tea kick since I figured out how easy it is to make in my french press. I am in LOVE with this tea cold. Its so relaxing and mellow, and with how sunburnt I’ve gotten lately going to bed with something cool in my stomach seems to be bringing my core temp down enough to sleep. At the rate I’m going I’ll burn through what I have of this tea, but probably not as quickly as you’d think. I can still double steep most teas in the french press cold. And that makes me super happy.
Preparation
Made this in my usual vanilla Almond Milk. The flavor is really subtle so I think I may have not added enough to the cup. At any rate its a lovely morning wake up drink. And I’m having fun trying all the flavors sent to me by the gracious MissB in my mystery box. Now that I’m not getting up at 4am for work I should be able to actually document the things I drink again. It was nice to get out early but boy did those mornings hurt.
I should have checked steepster before getting this at Starbucks. Luckily I get free hot tea thru their gold program cause I would be miffed. Its not terrible, just so anise infused and scented that its hard to cope with. Not doing this again but I will probably finish the cup.
While slightly chemically (mostly when its a bit cooled down honestly, this is what happens when you drink hot things at work) this is exactly what it says on the label. Cookies and cream and matcha blended. In my head the idea had more…cream to it then this did, but it was in no way bad. I don’t think I’d order a full order of this, but I’m super glad to have tried it.
Preparation
Holy moly. This is a lovely flavor for almost anything. I love pineapple, and when its made with warm almond milk it could come to be a favorite. I can’t wait to see if I like all of the other flavors the lovely MissB sent me in my mystery box. Will be adding them as I try them because putting them in my cupboard hasn’t quite happened yet.
Preparation
Don’t hate it but its tarter then I’d prefer. I have quite a bit so hopefully DH will be taking some with him to work. Its quite red which I usually associate with hibiscus but I don’t think thats in here. Maybe its the rose petals?
