Day 6 DAVIDs Tea Advent Calendar 2023
My first suprise was the muddy color after steeping. I thought someone had added milk to my tea while I was out of the room. This is a very sugary blend! Not as minty as I expected but sure does remind me of a candy cane crushed topping. I enjoyed this tea. Not sure I would purchase gain but definitely would drink again.

Flavors: Candy, Candy Cane, Creamy, Mint, Sugar

Day 15 DAVIDs Tea Advent Calendar 2023

When I opened this one I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it. Turns out my nose deceived me and the blend is lovely. There is a marshmallow/vanilla creaminess that I enjoy. Wish this was a year round flavor. I would definitely serve this to guests. Sadly it’s no longer listed on the website, so I guess I’ll hope for it to come back next holiday season

Flavors: Creamy, Marshmallow, Vanilla

Day 10 DAVIDs Tea Advent Calendar 2023

This is not for me. I find if weird and honestly don’t want to finish the mug. Very sweet and reminds me of Hot Tang. And yes, Hot Tang is a drink I’ve had the pleasure of while on camping trips. But this is not what I’m looking for in a mug of tea.

Day 8 DAVIDs Tea Advent Calendar 2023

Ohhhh I needed something like this today. I hope I sleep after this and some yoga. May this help me through the night, help to minimize my plight. The peppermint, lemongrass, and chamomile blend well together. It smells really good and leaves a fresh feeling on my tongue.

Flavors: Chamomile, Lemongrass, Peppermint

Hope it did the trick!

Happy New Year!
Starting off the day with a mug of Festive Spice. This year my Christmas stocking was filled with tea instead of candy. Not a bad thing at all in my opinion.
This is not a bad black tea. It does seem to have some astringency to it and I would probably add a bit of sweetener or milk to it in the future. The pepper is a nice zing to it but I don’t taste any of the other spices involved.

Flavors: Astringent, Pepper

Preparation
Boiling 4 min, 45 sec

Day 7 DAVIDs Tea Advent Calendar 2023

Obviously, I’m a bit off with my Advent Calendar. BUT this means I have teas to sample starting into the new year.

I loved the scent from this one prior to steeping. I’m glad I read the container because I didn’t realize it was a green. Steeped at 175 for 3ish minutes. All I smell is cloves. All I taste is cinnamon. I was hoping for a bit more orangeness. I also felt it left a strange aftertaste. Not bad and I would drink it again.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Cloves

Day 16 DAVIDs Tea Advent Calendar 2023

After an evening of gift wrapping and a chilly dog walk, it was nice to sit with a mug near the lights of the Christmas tree and listening to music. I steeped for about 3 minutes. Reading the ingredient list, I was pretty sure this one wasn’t going to be a hit. I found it to be tart, sour and hibiscus heavy. I had hoped something a bit lighter as a white tea. It was enjoyable enough but I probably wouldn’t pick it out for myself again.

Flavors: Hibiscus, Sour, Tart

Baked good teas can be hit or miss but this is for sure a hit! This is so fun, delicious, and sweet. A fantastic dessert tea. I definitely would get this again.

Day 13 Davids Tea Advent Calendar

It’s chamomile with no frills. I think it’s been a while since I’ve had a basic chamomile tea with no other herbal add ins. It feels silky and reminds me of summer. It’s kind of mellow, not bad, but not super exciting either. Here’s hoping for a good night sleep!

Flavors: Grass, Honey

Day 1 Davids Tea Advent Calendar
It’s been a while since I have had any Davids blends in the house. They closed the shops near me and I’ve not ordered from them in the last year. I am so excited about this start to Advent. This is my second tasting of this (the first was on Dec 1). I absolutely would purchase this again. It is very much like the cranberry ginger ale of my childhood memories.

Flavors: Cranberry, Crisp, Ginger, Spicy, Sweet, Tart

Preparation
200 °F / 93 °C 3 min, 30 sec

Profile

Bio

In the early 2000’s, my brother worked for a grocery company that removed items from the shelves and I ended up with a cabinet filled with random tea.

After I finished that cabinet, I started trying new things and exploring the world of tea. Still exploring, still learning, and loving this community.

I tend to take my tea with no additions and quite hot. Though often I find myself having to reheat my mug due to distractions. I’m partial to herbals, white tea, green, and blacks. But I really will try anything once.

Rankings:
100-80 Love in varying degrees
79- 60 Good, but in the friendzone
60-50 Ok, would drink if offered
49-20 Don’t make me try it again!
19-0 Didn’t finish!
