I tried 3 teaspoons for my cup this time. I kind of forgot I was steeping this and walked away, so it sat for 3 minutes instead of 2.

The 3 teaspoons still didn’t help make this tea better for me. It’s just not flavorful or strong enough. When this one is gone I will not be reordering.

I ordered the sample size of this since I am in the search for a good chocolate tea to drink in the evening in lieu of eating handfuls of dark chocolate peanut m&ms.

I loved the smell when I opened the bag. I could easily smell both the chocolate and the hazelnut. It reminds me a bit of Nutella, which is not a bad thing.

I used 1 teaspoon of tea leaves and steeped for approximately 5 minutes. I cheated a bit and opened the lid to smell it while steeping and I could now clearly smell tea. The chocolate and hazelnut were still there, but faintly.

The tea is pleasant, very reminiscent of Nutella. I think 1 teaspoon is a bit weak; I can barely taste tea, forget about chocolate and hazelnut. I added a splash of milk, as I always do to my black teas and a dash of sugar. I don’t like the added sugar. I will have to use more leaves on the next brewing, but this has potential.

I ordered a 50 count sachet with my Harney order, remembering how much I enjoyed the Hot Cinnamon Spice sample I received last year. I read the reviews saying how similar the herbal version tasted.

I opened the bag and loved the cinnamon smell. There was so much cinnamon, it was all over the inside of the bag. I steeped it for 5 minutes as suggested on the packaging and sweetened it with honey. It was very good. I don’t recall the black tea version tasting this strongly of cinnamon, but I still like it. And being herbal it is a bit better for me. But this is definitely not a good tea for the upcoming summer season.

I had high hopes for this tea, so high that I purchased the 20 count sachet tin instead of the loose leaf sample. What’s not to love…chocolate, coconut….yum. So when the package arrived today I couldn’t wait to try it.

Unfortunately, I don’t like it too much. It smells and tastes too artificial…and flowery. This is the second type of chocolate tea I’ve tried…maybe it’s not for me. I tried adding a splash of milk to make it a bit creamier. It didn’t help. I steeped it for 5 minutes, as the package suggests. Perhaps I will leave the sachet in for less time next.

I tried 2 teaspoons this time and the taste is stronger but not quite there. I need to try 2 1/2 – 3 teaspoons next time.

The smell of this tea was overwhelming. Too fruity and flowery, like a perfume. It’s taste was mild but left an aftertaste I can only imagine a lavender soap would taste like.

I opened this tea for the first time and instantly smelled cinnamon then coughed from the pepper. There is a lot of pepper in this bag of tea.

I steeped 1 1/2 teaspoons according to the package for the recommended 2 minutes. Next time I will use more. This tea is very light and quite bland for me. And still the only thing I can smell with my nose in the mug is cinnamon and pepper. And the aftertaste it leaves – I guess I agree with others – it tastes like redhots. I was never really a fan of redhots.

I have finally moved on to loose leaf tea. I received this tea as a gift and steeped it in my new ForLife Curve teapot.

My first impression right from the package was that it smelled amazing. I mostly smelled the cinnamon but could pick up a bit of nutmeg since I read the ingredients and knew it would be in there. There does appear to be quite a but of sugar in it, but it’s hard for me to tell exactly what is sugar and what are bits of fruit.

Upon taking my first sip I fell in love. I didn’t add any milk or honey, which I customarily do with bagged teas, because I wanted to taste it alone first. It’s a good thing that I like my tea sweet, there is more than enough sugar in this tea! This makes a wonderful dessert tea for me!

I don’t know a whole lot about tea, but want to explore it more and remember the journey!

I am a 30-something year old wife and stay-at-home-mother of one. When I have time to myself I enjoy tv, classical music, reading, knitting, and math puzzles. But mostly I spend my time playing play doh and dollhouse, coloring, and creating with Legos.

I’m trying to figure out the best system for rating each tea. Unfortunately it’s not easy to pick out an exact number on my iPad (which is what I use most frequently), so my ratings must be in a range.

0-20: This was terrible, my husband can drink the rest.
21-45: This tea was drinkable.
46-70: I enjoyed this but not enough to purchase again.
71-99: I enjoyed this and would buy it again.
100: One of my favorites; it will always be in my cupboard.
