Pumpkin Spice black tea Seasonal. I don’t feel like adding it. Republic of Tea. Sample tea bag from their flyers. Pumkin and spice, neither flavor is strong. Not a tea I would purchase. It’s fine.

Flavors: Pumpkin, Spices

S.G. Sanders

Republic of Tea has a tendency to have bland flavors.

I do like some of their loose teas. I agree that some of their blends don’t have much flavor.

Especially their bagged teas.

drank Ginseng Oolong by Mandala Tea

Followed Mandala’s directions for steeping-
1st steep 30 sec- leaves only started to unfurl, most still balled up. Taste- oolong with sweet chaser.
2nd 1min- some leaves still balled up, wet leaf smell much more like oolong, more creamy oolong up front sweet chaser comes out more as water cools
3rd 1 min 30 sec – lost end sweet, nice light oolong
4th 2min- sweet more in front, then creamy oolong, then sweet again
5th 2min 30sec- tea still good
I really like this tea.
I’m ready to move onto another tea, though I think I could get several more steeps out of this tea. Downside, filter of gravity steeper required thorough cleaning. I really need to get a gaiwan.

Flavors: Creamy, Sweet

1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML
S.G. Sanders

Gaiwans are good for steeping your tea in and cleaning the tea out. I think it allows for the tea to open up more, and the flavors to expand as well as the tea leaves.

Dry leaf smells super awesome. Maple syrup and pumpkin. Chai comes out more in smell of wet leaf. I don’t think I used enough water the first steep. I only used about 6oz. With 8oz, the 2nd steep was much better. Like TeaTiff I find that 2tsp and 8oz to be the correct ratio.
I was able to get three steeps out of the leaves though the 3rd steep was definitely the weakest. In the 3rd steep, I lost the maple but got pumpkin chai.
When I’m ready to reorder, I’ll need to get some more. The taste is true to the smell of the tea.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Clove, Maple Syrup, Pumpkin

I get jasmine but not much else. It tastes okay. It might be getting old and losing flavor. Unfortunately, I have a lot left being as it is one of their blends with the ridiculous minimums.

Flavors: Jasmine

S.G. Sanders

The Body & Mind is a light tea. There isn’t a huge amount of jasmine even with a “fresher” batch. If you’re expecting a light white tea, then it’s well suited for it; however, I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking solely for a jasmine tea.

Now Jasmine Pearls are always good, though.

Dry leaf – smell cider, clove and vanilla
Wet leaf – smells very cidery
Taste – very creamy mouthfeel, but I don’t like the finish
2nd steep – very potpourri taste. I don’t get cider anymore. Creamy.

I don’t know that I like this tea. I still have some left so I will try again to see if I like it any better. Maybe I overleafed?

Flavors: Apple, Clove, Cream, Flowers, Vanilla

Spicy chocolate tea. I like it. I remember the spice being present but not overpowering.

Honey creamy comforting black tea. It has a little astringency, but it’s oh so good. I’m completely out of it right now and need to restock. Also upping my rating because I keep going back to it.

Flavors: Cream, Honey

3 min, 30 sec 2 tsp 15 OZ / 443 ML

I had this over thanksgiving again, I agree there is some astringency with this one, but it is so good!

Bought this tea for when I feel sick because it stands up well to honey. I don’t normally sweeten teas. Pretty much only when sick. Don’t want to waste good tea when I can’t appreciate the flavor profile.
I have a cold and possibily a tad bit of a sore throat.
Brewed 2 tea bags in 16 oz of water with organic honey. Smell lemon, lots of lemon. Tastes primarily of lemon. I only get a little ginger and honey.
I feel this tea does the job I bought it for. However, I wouldn’t drink it on its own. 75

I started my tea journey with Stash/Celestial Seasonings tea bags years ago. All loose leaf, unless I’m sick or traveling.

I like black, oolong, white, herbals, and raw/ripe pu’erh. I don’t drink green tea often.

I play video games, read, and do pottery. My current favorite tea mug is one I threw and glazed.

I generally review teas twice – initial and final steeps.

My cupboard is completely out of date. I have a spreadsheet (it’s current!!!) that’s over 300 teas. Pretty equal amounts of black, white, oolong, raw, & ripe with a little bit of green/herbal.

85-100 are teas that I loved and want to keep in stock.
71-84 are teas that are good. I may or may not get them again. Source for daily drinkers/work teas.
60-70 are teas that I didn’t like. I’ll finish what I bought.
Anything less than 60…nope.
