Sipdown. I’ve enjoyed this tea much more cold brewed. It’s been juicy and refreshing. Delicate black tea with hint of sweetness that has been enjoyable to drink at work. Best part about cold brewing – no astringency and dryness.
Not a replaceable tea, but glad I was able to enjoy the rest of my leaf.

Love this tea! Very needed tea to recover from work.

I’m glad that I don’t normally sit and work on the computer all day. I got a lot done working on things that got missed or overlooked. Still pretty headache inducing.

Nursed this in a gaiwan for about a hour. Keeps giving flavor, great taste. Cocoa, malt, sweet potato, chocolate yum.

Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Malt, Sweet, Sweet Potatoes

Sipdown. I overleafed this cup which had a large amount of broken leaves. I didn’t care for this cup though it was my fault. I just wanted to use the last of it.

Dry – hay, fruit, unevenly sized pearls
4g, 170F
Rinse – apricot
10s- apricot, nectarines
20s – still fruity, pearls still intact
30s – incredibly fruity
45s – fruity, I broke up pearls with my fingers because they weren’t unraveling in the relatively cool water.
1, 1.5, 2, 3 ,5 min – continued to be very fruity, but a little one note.

Might try this with a little hotter water to see if the pearls unravel faster while still maintaining flavor.

Flavors: Apricot, Fruity, Stonefruit

Dry – pineapple, pineapple skin, floral, underlying green
195F, 4g, 100ml gaiwan
15s – pineapple 20s, 30s – pineapple, hint of floral 40s, 1min – more floral, more fruit thick coating after taste

Pineapple taste was clear and lasting. More floral towards end of steeps as time increased. Really enjoyed this tea. 90

Sipdown – Tastes like sticky rice. Sweet, rice, starch, thick. True to its name, but not my thing.

28July- Had this directly after the assam. There is no comparison between the two. This tea has everything I wanted from the previous tea – fruit, malt, body, no astringency with an addition of cinnamon.
It comes up especially rosy in comparison, but is a great tea in its own right. Gets sweeter as it cools. Just what I needed.

Flavors: Cinnamon, Fruity, Malt, Thick

2nd sample from my order. I must say I tried to like it. Drank it several times, varying time, temperature and leaf.
Fruit, malt, thin body. Taste is front loaded. Tannic and astringent.

I like some assams. This isn’t one of them. 70

Sipdown. 8oz, 3,5 and 8 min.
Overleafed and under watered the first cup so it was strong and slightly tannic. Fixed the later steeps with more water.
Malt, cocoa, sweet. Solid black tea

Profile

Bio

I started my tea journey with Stash/Celestial Seasonings tea bags years ago. All loose leaf, unless I’m sick or traveling.

I like black, oolong, white, herbals, and raw/ripe pu’erh. I don’t drink green tea often.

I play video games, read, and do pottery. My current favorite tea mug is one I threw and glazed.

I generally review teas twice – initial and final steeps.

My cupboard is completely out of date. I have a spreadsheet that has 250 teas, but is also out of date. And tea all over the living room that hasn’t been logged anywhere!

Ratings
85-100 are teas that I loved and want to keep in stock.
71-84 are teas that are good. I may or may not get them again. Source for daily drinkers/work teas.
60-70 are teas that I didn’t like. I’ll finish what I bought.
Anything less than 60…nope.
