200 Tasting Notes

I was at a hotel when I tried this. It’s a very good tea indeed, better than the jasmine I have at home, but probably more expensive too!

The most expensive tea I’ve ever bought and I think it’s probably the nicest too. It’s certainly very good anyway. I didn’t put in properly boiling water and it took off the edge to it but it still tastes sweet and good!!

Even after several posts on this, it’s still good! For no articular reason, I often drink this without straining it – the tea leaves taste okay

Smells much nice than my other oolong, but then it’s much more expensive too – I have been introducing people to it because they all love its name!

I used my tight mesh infuser today so didn’t get too much tea powder get into my tea (it really is quite powdery more than leafy). Very much enjoyeed it, more than I’ve enjoyed it for a while, so I had a couple of pints

I decided having only one oolong in my cupboard was a shame, so bought this because of its wonderful name!! I do enjoy a nice cup of oolong… I still think you have to drink at least a couple of cups of oolong to enjoy it as much as possible, very nice savoury tea

I’m still drinking this from time to time. Today because I wanted a lazy teabag and some oolong to take away the sweetness of a couple of pints of coke I had earlier. I can really taste the raspberry tonight, but that’s unusual, normally I can’t even tell it’s there

I drink this very often because I can give it to people who like a ‘normal’ tea, although it’s actually quite special. Unfortunately when I drink with other people I often have black tea when I’d rather a green tea or oolong

I bought myself a thermometer, and boy, does it make a difference to my tea! I’m on a second brewing and it’s so soft and sweet, I’m never going to sleep…

Incredibly, this was only my second cup of this since I bought it two months ago. I wasn’t that impressed last time to be honest, possibly because I had high expectations of it. This time I really smelled its earthy (and perhaps fishy, as my housemate pointed out) smell and enjoyed it for what it was. I ill be drinking this a little more often now I feel

Bio

I moved from the UK to Australia in 2015. I’ve had a fascination with tea since university, and like to try lots of different types. My preference is for real tea over other infusions: green tea, oolong and black, including flavoured varieties. I love encouraging people to try new teas. I also play the trombone.
Ratings:
>90: Some of the best I’ve had so far.
80-90: I love this tea, likely to buy again
70-80: Good tea. Most tea in my cupboard is in this category because it’s fine to drink it all day!
50-70: I’d drink it if it was offered to me, and I’ll drink what’s in the cupboard, but I’m unlikely to buy it again.
<50: Glad I tried it, but it’s not very nice.
