Ugh, January. While the snowflakes that are landing on our porch mat are precisely formed six-pointed ice crystals, the wind is just too stinkin’ cold to appreciate them.

Hunkering down for the evening with a cup of this nice custom Adagio blend—decaf black tea, hazelnut, and honeybush; even creamier and more comforting with milk. Wish I could guess the proportions and try to replicate it with pantry tea ingredients. My half-tin is getting old—I’m not seeing this custom blend on the Adagio website any more—but it’s been stored decently and still has some life in it.

Stay warm out there.

Somebody asked me once when I became a tea junkie; I think it dates back to college when I needed caffeine for a 7 a.m. class but chose not to do coffee. My favorite teapot is a medium-sized Brown Betty given to me by my Mema; the painted flowers are chipping off, but the size and feel is perfect. I rejoice when I get a morning to brew a pot of loose tea starting with a kettle; not a bag and a hot pot.
