drank Turmeric Ginger by Rishi Tea

Wow! It has a little burn to it … reviewing in more detail for www.itsallabouttheleaf.com, and my chief observation is that it’s nice to find a medicinal herbal that doesn’t have lemon as its flavor mainstay. May be helpful and handy come cold and flu season.

There’s a lot going on here! About one taste bud zing to each item in the lengthy ingredient list: pop, pop, pop! Curiously stimulating for an herbal.

I’m going to call my first try “user fail.” May not have prepared it long and strong enough; just couldn’t get much more out of it than spicy water flavor, even with a little milk. Won’t be so chintzy with the leaves next time and maybe we’ll get some real chai-itude out of it.

This is one of those very very mild French teas.

Sorry to hear the first try was a disappointment. I truly loved this tea, hope more leaves will do the trick for you!

Just enough left to enjoy between now and Thanksgiving. A good fall tea, but at this point (returning from travel), I’m just thrilled to be drinking ANY tea that doesn’t taste like burnt hotel coffeepot and chlorine!

Made on a rainy Sunday afternoon … dark red-brown, deep and winey. I think this one needs a bit of care; I can see how it would go bitter really easily.

drank Awake™ Full Leaf Tea by Tazo Tea

Haven’t had this for a while, nor have I had it served to me by Starbucks in the big sachet. So it’s stiffer and stronger than I recall. That’s not a disadvantage on a very sleepy Monday a.m. That wouldn’t be darjeeling I’m tasting in the background? Nahhhh….

Light on the leaf, light on the time, and this is wonderful!

I think my general aversion to jasmine teas comes from the fact that the only prepared samples I’ve ever tasted are sweetened to the point of hummingbird feeder syrup. This one doesn’t come on nearly as strong and is rather pleasant. Not getting any pomegranate, really, but maybe it’s just toning down the flowery flavor.

Another one for future full review on www.itsallabouttheleaf.com. General first impression: While rolling around possible adjectives for this tea, stout and robust didn’t make the list at all, but there’s still enough character for it to stand up to the “breakfast” category. No milk needed, but a.m. additives don’t weaken its taste or personality.

Tried to perk up my aging stash with a hint of mint from my home-grown Peppermint plant (Patty). I think I needed to hint louder, but it’s a nice combo.
