2022 Spring Tea Swap
I saw that in the past there have been tea advent swaps and I love that idea! So I thought I would see if there’s any interest in a spring tea swap.
Each person will send 25 labeled packets of tea. Each packet should contain enough for at least 1 – 2 cups of tea.
If you’d like to join, please share the following info. I will do my best to match people by location, preferences, cupboard similarities, etc.
Where do you live?
Where are you willing to ship?
Do you have any tea preferences or restrictions?
*For example, you only drink herbals or cannot have caffeine.
Once partners are assigned, please PM the person who is sending to you ASAP with your address.

I live in the US and prefer to send within the US.
Favorites: Dessert teas, fruity teas, white teas, herbal. Anything sweet or creamy! Vanilla, baked goods, pineapple, dessert flavors, tropical, fruits, etc. I don’t mind stevia sweetened teas. I’m open to either loose leaf or bagged.
Restrictions: I can only drink caffeine-free, low caffeine, and decaf teas. I also can’t have chamomile, mint, or chocolate (cacao powder/nibs are fine). Not a fan of anything smoky, spicy, or floral.
I live in the US in MN.
I would be ok sending stuff in US or Canada.
Teas I have: I would like to share some of my straight teas (mainly Chinese and Taiwanese in origin, some Japanese ones) (oolong, black, green, white etc) and blended black teas (most are dessert teas). I have some herbals too (mostly straight flowers that are really nice though not cloying like chrysanthemum and crimson rose and plum blossom) but I only have a small amount of herbal blends other wise.
My tea preferences:
Dislikes: Stevia, Peppermint, Large amounts of black peppercorns, nutmeg, clove or allspice. Mushroom-y tastes. Cloying rose. Weak floral white tea blends.
Likes: In no particular order: Straight teas for gongfu, Sweeter/spring water-like green teas, Dessert tea blends, Fruit blends, Earl greys, some chais, some smokey blends, herbals/tisane blends
Hoping we can get a couple more people to join! If not I will push back the sign up deadline.
You’ll probably have to keep it open for a minimum of a week just based on usual response times here on Steepster ^^; I think this is a great idea! I will be up for this. I am in MN as well.
Awesome! Could you post a bit about your preferences and dislikes? That’ll help me match partners a little better.
Oh yes sorry! I prefer real tea over tisanes (though i do love rooibos) and pure tea versus flavored or scented. However, I am also a tea adventurer and like to try and different brands and teas. The only thing I stay away from is almond because I’m allergic.
Sure no problem! Just almonds. And it’s not a terrible allergy like peanuts can be. I just get headaches.
Hey all, I would love to join in!
I live in Colorado and would prefer shipping inside the US but can do Canada or Mexico if needed.
I prefer flavored teas (which is also mainly what I can send, especially flavored black teas) and I especially love dessert teas and smoky teas. I will happily try straight teas, so feel free to send them, but my palate just isn’t skilled enough to enjoy them fully! I don’t have any allergies or strong dislikes.
This sounds like fun! Count me in. I live in Alabama, USA and would prefer to keep shipping within the USA if possible. I love pretty much any kind of black tea, especially fruity ones, and I might have oolong, puerh, or an herbal/fruit blend on occasion. Not a fan of white or green teas. I’m about to start a trial period with low to no caffeine, but it’s only for a few weeks so I can plan to schedule it before or after this.
Any and all black teas, smoky teas, raspberry, strawberry, red fruits, bergamot, chai spices, floral teas, caramel/toffee, jasmine, rose, vanilla, peaches, plums, valerian root, cinnamon, cardamom
Lime, white teas, green teas, artificial sweeteners, sarsaparilla, licorice, lemongrass, lavender, hibiscus (unless it’s good cold brewed)
Thank you for organizing!
EDIT: I did just order a whole bunch of caffeine-free and decaf teas (plus a few caffeinated teas because I couldn’t help myself), so I do have plenty of new stuff along those lines to share.
I’ll join! I’ll be out of town for most of May, so I probably wouldn’t be able to get a package out to my partner until early June unless the assignments were made decently soon. Here’s my info:
I enjoy flavored tea – primarily herbals and black tea, though I’ve also been enjoying some flavored greens and matchas lately. Also preferably loose leaf.
Favorite flavors: dessert flavors, melon, lavender, almond, strawberry, nutty, malty, soda teas, anything rooibos-related, lemongrass, spicy flavors.
Don’t prefer: smoky, savory flavors, floral (other than lavender and chamomile), plain tea. Also nothing with gelatin.
I’m in the US and would prefer to ship within the US.
I’ll give sign ups another day or two and then assign partners if that would work for you time wise!
I think some of my teas from necessiteas use marshmallows (which if they arent vegan they probably have gelatin in them). Some teas that include candies might have gelatin in them as well.To be honest, I havent checked how many of my dessert teas might have this issue. Probably a few though.
Oh! Right right! My brain just immediately went to adding gelatin straight to tea and I was like wtf haha but marshmallows and candy makes more sense.
Thanks for all the interest! I’m so excited.
I’ve gone ahead and assigned who is sending to who, which is updated in the main post :) Please message the person sending to you with your address.
Let’s try to have these sent out by the end of May at the latest. Please update this thread when you have sent your end out!
Just whenever :) It doesn’t necessarily have to be advent format, I just liked the idea of swapping a bunch of samples based on someone’s preferences.
My package is going out to AJRimmer tomorrow! Please remember to post updates in this thread when you send out :)
