For a bagged chai, this is pretty decent. not too spicy for me, pretty warming. I start off the day with an Oregon Chai powdered drink so I’m comparing it to that because that is my favourite chai (I know I know) and this is not as enjoyable but I’m liking this one too. Only have the one bag from a sampler pack though and I won’t be getting more of it.

The dry scent of this sachet smells like an interesting berry mixture. The steeped liquor smells like hibiscus. HIBISCUS. Very hibiscus. Not my favourite thing.

Aaand it tastes mostly like hibiscus too, with hints of berry flavours, especially in the aftertaste. Not a fan.

I have a sample box of sachets from this company and I decided that my first try would be the Organic Assam since that’s usually a fairly safe tea. I’m planning a resteep but this review is just for the first steep.

There’s nothing really special about this Assam. It’s good. Bold and fairly heavy flavour that I typically associate with Assam black teas. This would probably be a fairly good “It’s morning, I need tea” kind of tea but there’s nothing that really stands out. I enjoyed it and I’ll have to see if I need to edit this note for the second steep but otherwise it’s just decent.

ETA: Not worth resteeping. Much weaker and no new flavours.

So, I stole this from a 7-11 the other day…

Not consciously, of course! I was grabbing some ice cream, and I noticed that the store had switched bagged tea brands so I decided to see what the offerings were. Generic chai, Earl Grey, Chamomile, green tea, nothing really exciting. Except for this herbal which looked like it had the potential to be interesting.

I paid for my Ben & Jerry’s and walked home, only then did I realize I still had the teabag in my non dominant hand… Oops!

‘ll just pay for a tea next time I’m at that sev, and not take a teabag. That seems like it should balance out, right? I did try the tea though; hot. It wasn’t anything super unique/special but it wasn’t bad either! I thought it was pleasantly tart, and had a good mixed berry flavour. Blackberry/blueberry is sort of what I was leaning towards in terms of flavour. I knew there was something else too; but I couldn’t place what exactly until I saw the entry for this on steepster – it was the orange in the mix! It didn’t taste super citrusy in the blend, but I think it added sweetness and a touch of diversity to the flavour.

Not bad, honestly! I would drink this again, but not pay for it (or steal it).

How do I describe this herbal blend? It is hard to put into words, this brew is somewhat sour, but not in a displeasing way. There is something else there too…a slight fruity bitterness that hangs on my tongue after each sip. The color truly is amazing, a rich magenta as others have pointed out, but at the same time there is nothing in this herbal tea that leaves me yearning for more.

I think I will bring it to the office for my coworkers to try, it might go to waste sitting in my pantry.

Unequivocally speaking, this is one of the best herbal tea bags that I have ever tried. I followed the directions on the box preciously, poured boiling water over the bag and let steep for around 4 minutes and 30 seconds. The result was the a mindbogglingly full bodied chamomile flavor; the aroma was so overwhelming that my entire living room (where I enjoyed the tea) smelled like a field of flowers. The taste provides notes of sweetness, almost nectar like, and of course the rich chamomile flavor you would expect from chamomile tea.

I have tried hundreds of chamomile teas over the years, and this one ranks at the top. Even if you have tried chamomile tea before and did not care for it, give this one a try, it will blow your mind. Now if only they had a loose leaf tincture available…

The thing that really stands out to me with this tea is it has a very smooth mouthfeel, and the flavor/notes are quite balanced. Flavor is rich (but not obnoxious or anything) and reminds me of honey.

So I don’t know what temperature and amount (truly) that the place I’ve ordered this tea from does it, so that’s why some details below are missing for my review. However, I do know that in swapping out my coffees in the morning for a medium fog tea, I have been asking for teas /other/ than earl grey. At first it was because the café was out of said tea, but now it’s out of curiosity.

There is a shelf full of teas from Two Leaves that I keep eyeing, so finally I took a chance yesterday morning. This tea as a fog was very smooth and even. It was a relaxing way to start my morning and smelled divine. Since trying it at the café, I’m definitely going to look into purchasing a box of my own when I run out of some of my personal stock.

Eh, it was ok. Nothing in particular stood out. Wasn’t good, wasn’t bad. I finished the tea, even tried a second steeping. But it’s definitely not one I would buy. The strongest taste is the rooibos.

I have not had much experience in jasmine green tea so take that into account. I did really enjoy this. It wasn’t a wow I love it but more of a this is good, hit my mood right, and was great sipping. I enjoyed the scent. I agree with another reviewer, 5 minutes seemed long. I did mine for closer to 4. I had a single bag for a sample, it’s one I plan to buy and add to my stash once I drink through a few more teas.

drank Peppermint by two leaves and a bud

This was a lovely evening cup of peppermint brewed in boiling hot water. I’m lucky that my friends keep tea in case I am at their house. These individual sachets keep things fresh. The menthol is strong, but soothing. It has a little bit of natural sweetness. This brand makes one of the better peppermints out there – very strong and fresh.

Two Leaves and a Bud isn’t a brand we see on shelves around here very often, so I sort of forgot they have such a nice assortment. I like their straight-up Assam.

I feel like they used to be more widely available! I miss them.

Excellent and very potent peppermint. Not really anything to say about a peppermint tea other than it tastes like fresh peppermint.

it also resteeps very well.

I found an unopened box of this tucked away in my closet. I am always amazed at how often I find random quantities of tea that I don’t remember. This box states that it is still good for another year, so I am in luck. Lately I have been getting crap for sleep, so I started bringing these to work to help keep me alive. The sachets are nice, and the tea inside looks like a typical Chun Mee or Hyson with a few pieces of jasmine. The scent is nice and heavy with jasmine and a base of vegetal. However, that is where my interest stops. The taste is okay. It’s a bit rough and sickening with the florals. Honestly, the more I drink of it the less I like it. This is the sort of tea that gives me headache and makes my stomach turn. Although, at just one cup it is fine. It is far from good, but it is drinkable. I have tried using cooler water (doesn’t have any flavor, except for the bitter floral), and I have tried shorter steep times (same conclusion), but I cannot make this a great brew…

I really wasn’t expecting much from this tea with the lack of reviews both here and on two leaves and a bud’s website but here i am leaving a good review. Maybe my taste buds are just fried today but when really hot it doesn’t seem to have a flavor but once it cools off a bit it is really nice.

drank pomi-berry by two leaves and a bud
2956 tasting notes

I couldn’t find “Orchard berry” anywhere, but I looked it up and found out it was previously called Pomi-berry. I’m just going to write my tasting note under the old name, that seems easier than making a new listing

I had this hot first, and steeped it 30 seconds in 90 deg C water. Second cup was 1 minute in cold water. I think this is best with very short steeps to prevent hibiscus-domination. It was excellent cold, I think this would make a wonderful iced tea to drink straight (no sweetener).

Very fruity, hibiscus starts coming out a few seconds in, berries, chamomile, lemongrass. A nice fruity herbal.

This is awesome. Perfect balance of green and tropical. Tastes and smells great. One I will keep buying for sure. Keeps that green tea flavor I love but also brings out the tropical notes without overpowering the green. This is comfort tea for me and one I can always go back to.

Not rating this tea because I tossed it. Not sure why this labeled for a better morning since none of the ingredients bring morning to mind. I didn’t like it right as soon as I opened the bag. The mint in this one just really turned me off. Many probably would love this tea but I couldn’t get into it. Definite hard pass for me. I only choked down about half of this before I said no thanks, moving on.

This was an okay tea. Not brilliant. Had a good scent but it didn’t carry over to flavor for me. It was very light tasting without a whole ton of flavor. I was glad I only got one as a sample and not a whole box. I’d drink it again but I have lots more tea I like more. Was not overly berry flavored and not a strong tea in general. Hint of mint but not strong. I just wasn’t a fan of this one. Brewed it according to the directions

This was definitely a lighter sencha. The orange is present but not overwhelming. Seems like a good everyday tea. I used to drink Lipton Green Tea with orange in it, this was a good organic replacement. Tasted way better. Was able to steep it twice but it could probably go more. Well balanced and not overpowering.

Well balanced green tea. The orange and pineapple are not super strong but are noted. Smells great, drinks smooth, and finishes with the taste of the green tea. Not sure I was energized but it was a nice tea and one that will become a often used tea.

The first time I brewed this I WAY over brewed it. Darn those kids and their distractions!

But it was much better when I did it right. It’s a very light white tea, taste of strawberry comes out more on the second steeping but it’s still very light and well balanced. The kind of tea that is not strong or overpowering but can be sipped all day. I drink it hot and use no sweeteners.
