This tea was one of 5 samples I received from thepuriTea. It arrived well packaged in pretty pillow boxes (see pictures for a side angle of the pillow box if you are unsure what I mean) with packing peanuts and business cards.
This, THIS is mango black tea. I have been hunting for a good mango black for MilitiaJim, as he loves mangos, and this is it. We both agree it’s a nice real tasting mango flavor that balances well with a smooth, not astringent or bitter, black tea.
I will be buying more of this promptly. In fact it’s on sale, via twitter;

Post-Steep Additives: German rock sugar, a pinch = bring the mango out more – I highly suggest lightly sweetening this tea.
Resteep: 5 minutes, added German rock sugar to start, just as delicious as the first steep – sweet mango and black tea with no astringency or bitterness

Preparation
Got a sample of this recently. I love a good golden yunnan tea so this one is described as great for fans of that. I had to try this one.
The leaf is beautiful, curled up firmly and black/gold in color. It’s mostly golden brown that shows just like in the photo. I steeped 3 min and the aroma is distinctive and wonderful. Some teas don’t have a pleasant aroma but this one does, reminding me of baked sweet potato.
The brew is a dark golden honey color. The leaf unfurls and becomes straight and narrow leaves. The flavor is like the golden yunnan tea. It’s a vibrant flavor or multiple notes, sweet potato, brown sugar, caramel come to mind. It’s really good and I will have to add some to my next order.
Preparation
…I think if you would keep the steeping time shorter the sweetness would come out even more intense. Are you doing multiple infusions or you stay with one…love your review. Need to get my hands on a golden yunnan ASAP…
I did two steeps so far. The second was just as good, a tad lighter as you might expect. Keemun have you had this one? I’ll have to try a shorter steep however the sweetness was great with 3 minutes.
Yes Auggy I noticed that about your review of the Golden Bud review you did. Interesting. I love baked sweet potatos with butter on them and this tea strangely reminds me of that flavor a lot. Sounds like that one you had is very similar. I wonder how they compare.
…had a Golden Yunnan two years ago. Was quite good. But not as sweet and caramel-like as you describe it…more tobacco, earthy tasting… pu-erh.
Surprisingly smooth as I remember…but very dark in color. Strong fragrance.
That doesn’t sound like a Golden Yunnan. Yunnan tea is used to make Pu-erh but aged in the earth. A good GY will not be earthy or tobacco-y (but then I don’t smoke so how would i know.) Get a good GY and you will love it. One of my faves is Emporer’s Gold from Tao of Tea. But I’m finding others that rank high on my list of GY teas.
Someone threw out my Jasmine Pearl tea leaves before I could do another steeping so I went for this one next. This is a really great tea. I’ve never had Milk Oolong before this recent order. I got a sampler size and it’s good. I’m still trying to decide if it’s milk it tastes like or something else. Whatever it is, it’s like the others have been saying…yummy! The brew is a pale greenish yellow. The aroma is wonderful and matches the flavor well. If you haven’t had this tea before, get some quality stuff and try it. I haven’t tried other brands but this one from thePuriTea is worth the price! Standard disclaimer…I have no connection with them other than as a customer.
Preparation
Settling in for a nice quiet evening sipping this beautiful and tasty oolong tea. It is fresh and fragrant in it’s aroma before and after steeping. The flavor is wonderful and provided you like Jasmine, you can’t go wrong with this one. The brew is a pale yellow with a hint of green. If you aren’t a big fan of Jasmine this one may be even considered slightly overpowering. However, I assume that is what you would purchase the tea for. A second steeping and maybe even a third may be in order for this cup.

Love this tea! Short review at http://bit.ly/4AOfQj.
Preparation
Lucky number 13… and at this rate it may go another 13 more.:) A lil more sweetness than in the previous 2 or 3 infusions.
Preparation
Dude – are you going for some sort of Guinness Book record for the amount of liquid passed through one lot of tea leaves? 13 steeps – that’s just amazing.
I find myself feeling sorry for the tea leaves – they’ve been in a lot of hot water.
Yeah pretty much. Infusions are still REALLY good (gonna make 14 now) so stopping would be a waste of tea and money.
infusion 7, 9min
