OMG, this smells, just like the real thing! It’s incredible! It’s just like the fruity sherbet from the store. I’m trying it initially without sugar, but I usually take tea with some level of sweetener. Still a bit too hot, but I can smell it for a little longer before I try this…I don’t want to burn my tongue again.

Be back in a bit with more on the taste, but if it smells this good in the cup, how can it not be good in the mouth? :P

EDIT:

Ok, so…SO DELISH! Thanks to Jenn for thinking to send this one to me!

I decided to try this one tonight, on a whim, because I have my H&M sweater on today, and it is sort of lime sherbet green in colour, and I thought this might be a nice mental pick me up today, after having had a rough patch recently. Friday was so horrible, I fired it.

I can only imagine how AWESOME this tea is in the summer, iced. I am totally into how summery I feel drinking this in winter. It sure is a cheery mood brightener!

Backlogging: I received this a few weeks back when I ordered some heat sealed bags from The NecessiTeas. Sadly it ended up in my box of samples. This is the box I try to pick at least two samples from a day. Well, I finally grabbed this one last week. I have to say the dry leaves smelled awesome! Just like maple covered waffles. The hot tea was equally awesome. So much so that my non tea drinking neighbor next door tried to snag my cup when I stopped over to visit her at lunch! There was a nice mix of the blackberry, maple, and waffle flavors and they all worked really well with one another. No one flavor was stealing the show. I might have to order this one in the future.

drank Orange Flower by The NecessiTeas
2816 tasting notes

Thanks very much to Jenn for sending me a sample of this.

The smell of this tea is just delightful! I am not normally one for floral teas so this may skew my review a little bit. I decided on this as a nice afternoon tea to try. I am very much enjoying this as a relaxing cup of tea. Orange and jasmine flower complement each other pretty well. This is very little girly, and yes, perfume-y but it’s a nice way for me to begin winding down my afternoon. I’d also like to try this as an iced tea…

I once went on a camping trip where I took a guided tour of the nearby woods. The guide cut up some branches of a young tree and told us that this plant was what root beer originally came from. Then he gave us each a bit of the branch and told us we could make tea with it. Well, I was impatient and just gnawed on my branch instead. Wow! Root beer! Ever since then, I’ve always associated root beer with wood.

Because of that association, the woodsy flavor of rooibos makes a perfect base for root beer flavored tea. This is good both hot and chilled. Unlike most people, I actively dislike fizzy drinks. So this flat root beer is just perfect for me. I also love that it’s not sweet. I don’t like sodas because they are too sweet. Overall, this is better than root beer in every way. I don’t really get the float thing though.

Thank you for sharing this with me DaisyChubb!

drank Rainbow Sherbet by The NecessiTeas
150 tasting notes

Backlogging… I can’t believe that I’m the first to log this beauty. I’m siting in my veterinarian’s office at the moment, but I’ll add the photo and description when I get home.

This flavored green tea is pretty darn great! I was able to taste the raspberry, orange, lime, and vanilla flavors individually and that’s pretty amazing to me. This tea tastes like rainbow sherbet through and through and it’ll knock your socks off.

EDIT So, I entered the description for Rainbow Sherbet off of The NecessiTeas website but there’s no photo available yet. I’m too lazy/ busy to go shoot one of my own, so I’m going to need you to imagine lush, dark green tea leaves with enormous pieces of dehydrated raspberries and orange slices. Yeeeesss, just like that!

How much do I love oolongs? T H I S much!
How much do I love orange flower? T H I S much!
So, it’s a no brainer that I’d like this lovely orange flower oolong. I’m not usually a big floral tea fan but this one was really good. This oolong has a well balanced flavor that allows the orange oil, orange blossoms, lemon myrtle, and jasmine to blend perfectly. It’s sweet and uplifting.

This is pretty darn delicious, it tastes like a spicy carrot cake! Duh – just like it’s supposed to :D
Thank you Jenn for supplying me with my first taste of the Necessiteas.

Carrot cake isn’t my most favorite dessert, but to chill out before bed I would def pick this tea. mm spicy without a kick in the mouth, I like that!

First, I have to raise my cup to the lovely Indigobloom who is enjoying her last day at a crappy job today. Here’s to new beginings :)

Oh, golly. I have a huge tea-crush on The NecessiTeas, and I’ve yet to try a tea created by Ms. Linsey that isn’t rave worthy. Blackberry Maple Waffle will receive my first lukewarm review. This is a good quality flavored black tea, but I don’t get any maple or waffle flavor from it. The blackberry essence shines in this tea for sure and I guess that’s reason enough to like it. I just had my heart set on a true Blackberry Maple Waffle breakfast experience… I didn’t get that.

Indigobloom

hehe thx Jenn, you just made my day!! however, the new girl is a little overwhelmed so I’ve been asked to stay on another day to train her. I go back for one more day, on Monday no less! oh well. Irony had to make a play in there somewhere :)

Jenn

You and I are cut from the same cloth because I’ve done the same exact thing! We’re suckas.

Indigobloom

haha really?! yup, we’ve both been played for job fools!

Jenn

I think that we just have integrity and strong work ethics. Even if I don’t care for a company or organization, I’d never want my legacy to be negative. I’ve always done my best to leave my staff and my affairs in the best possible order even if secretly I’d love to stick it to the bad people.

Indigobloom

yeah that sounds about right! I’ve lost quite a bit of respect for the people at that office but they do work in a cut-throat industry so I guess I’ll let some of their issues slide :)
and the girl who is replacing me, she’s very sweet! I can’t let her stress just because I want outta there. Darn my work ethic!! ;)

drank Banana Split by The NecessiTeas
150 tasting notes

Oh yeah! Banana Split is really hitting the spot tonight. This is a delicious rooibos blend that delivers a powerful dessert punch. I’m not sure how many banana teas I can support in my collection, but I may have to add this one because it’s pretty damn great. It’s really more of a banana/ strawberry tea so that makes it different, right?

Why do you make it so difficult for me not to buy every tea you make Ms. Linsey? Why????

Edit: Banana Split tastes even better after it cools a bit. So good!

We bought a small tin of this to be a decaffeinated treat in the evenings, and it’s very tasty! It initially has a nice, mellow sweetness, and then the kiwi bits add a tart kick in the aftertaste.

This tea was a very pleasant tea. My wife and I tried it the other night as a dessert tea, and it worked very well. While the tea’s flavor does resemble the taste of cheesecake, it also tastes like tea – as a well-blended tea should. The green tea base was also nice, because it’s lower caffeine content makes it something that you could enjoy in the evening without fear of losing any sleep.

drank Banana Nut Bread by The NecessiTeas
150 tasting notes

I have to say that Linsey out did herself with this blend! Banana Nut Bread does taste like it’s fresh out of the oven. The spices are right on and the banana flavor is rich and natural tasting.

So very, very, very, good!

Ashley Bain

I was curious about this one! Especially since Frank’s Hot Buttered Banana Bread isn’t a permanent :( Loved that stuff.

Jenn

I love this one in a completely different way. This rooibos version has even more of a true banana bread flavor in my opinion, but I still have much love for Frank’s black tea version as well :)

The NecessiTeas’ “Aloha” blend is a green rooibos that contains orange, coconut and pineapple bits with a kiss of creamy vanilla that smells divine and tastes even better. I’ve found most teas have a stronger aroma than flavor. But not so with this blend. The flavors seem to develop on your tongue and surpass the lovely, tropical aroma.

This tea blend is very good, a successful symphony of taste-stimulating flavors that grow to a crescendo of pleasure in a cup, but never forgets to be completely refreshing at the same time. It reminds me of a very good Ambrosia salad made with mandarin oranges…subtle sweetness but bold flavors. Not too strong, but it consistently delivers a nice full flavor that peaks on the palate at just the right level.

Because I enjoyed it so much, I also had to try it with some coconut milk, which was perfect for converting it into a substantial dessert substitute, which was very satisfying for me. As an iced tea, it is flirty, fun and very refreshing. I could almost taste the tropic breezes and smell the sun, sand and exotic tanning lotions (in a good way ;-).

I warn you, between you and me, this tea can quickly become a favorite “snack” substitute. For me it has become the “go to” item for that mid-day lag when I want to munch and perk up. It saves me hundreds of calories and I’m looking forward to it every afternoon now!

drank Sweet Almond by The NecessiTeas
46 tasting notes

Wow, why did I not review this sooner? I absolutely adore this tea when I get an intensive almond craving. Not the earthy nutty almond, but the “I need marzipan NOW” sweet almond. And coconut! It’s hard for me to pinpoint where the almond ends and the coconut begins but regardless. Almond doesn’t feel like a background flavor for this, it’s sweet, almond, with a touch of black tea.

A thank you to RachanaC for sending this sample to me in trade!

This smelled good -that Pezy lemongrass smell that’s so yummy. But, the taste wasn’t great, in my opinion. I didn’t do more than take about 3 sips and decided I didn’t want to finish it. It didn’t particularly taste like lemon or lemongrass, it had something about it that when tasting just put me off straight away.

When I first opened the tin (yes, their teas all come packaged in silver air-tight tins, which I love), I smelled walnuts and a variety of spices. When I looked inside, I saw bits of carrots and chunks of walnuts, among the blend of various spices and bits of goodness mingling with the red rooibos. This tea I felt was good plain, better with a touch of honey or sugar, and fantastic with a splash of milk…and OMG delicious with coconut milk! And to add just a little more dessert richness, try sweetening it with a little brown sugar. This tea tastes like I’ve been dunking carrot cake in milk, and then I drank the flavored milk. Mmmmm.

I hear you on the brown sugar and coconut milk! What Linsey really got me hooked on was her Vanilla Cola. That stuff is so good iced with some brown sugar! And such a better alternative to coke.

The NecessiTeas’ Lemon Chiffon is a real treat. I’d heard really good things about it, but for me, lemon must taste real, or it just doesn’t work for me. So on a 90 degree summer day, I made a pitcher of this delicious smelling tea over ice. The best way to describe my first taste was a quality iced tea… flavored with Lemonheads candies! No kidding. Took me back to my childhood. (But don’t worry, it’s not sweet and sticky.)

This Lemon Chiffon has a clean, crisp flavor that is refreshing on the tongue. Even after you finish, you are left with a light, lingering freshness. The lemongrass and other natural flavors do not fight the tea base of green rooibos, rather, they complement each other wonderfully. I found this tea to be an outstanding hot weather thirst quencher.

But the real bonus with this pleasing blend is the way it smells! It is a slightly creamy natural lemon flavor with the tiniest hint of sweetness, imparting a soothing, lovely aroma. The best way to describe it is that this tea is what sunshine should smell like!

WOAH! I have to admit I was not expecting cola flavor to be good in a non-carbonated tea version.
Linsey has proven me wrong! I steeped this double strength, added a touch of brown sugar and poured over ice, and WOWZERS! Most refreshing iced tea I’ve had in a long time. And I love that it’s rooibos and naturally caffeine free.
It’s not like drinking flat cola at all. Yes it’s a dead on ringer for cola but the carbonation isn’t necessary in a tea, it’s just in a different class of it’s own. Although I am curious what this would be like if I steeped it really concentrated and poured in some carbonated water and ice. I’ll have to order more and try that!

This sounds really interesting. I’m going to have to add it to my list of teas to try.

Ashley Bain

I recommend it! I was pleasantly surprised.

Cash & Chris

This sounds like it might be good iced with a splash of rum.

Ashley Bain

That probably would be really good.

This is the second tea I’ve tried from The NecessiTeas. Smooth and lovely just like the Orange Marzipan. The taste is a bit bubblegummy but in a good way. I think it really delivers on the name, it tastes tropical, like a little Hawaiian vacation in a cup. I also really love the hint of vanilla, it adds a soothing comfort and sets it apart from typical tropical flavors. I absolutely love the aroma of The NecessiTeas blends, I deeply inhale each time I take a sip. I would bathe in these teas. I drank this one warm (which was quite enjoyable,) and put some in the refrigerator for later to try iced.

I really enjoyed this! First tea I’ve tried from The NecessiTeas. I tried it hot, but quickly iced it as it was very hot here today. Yum! Smooth, sweet and lovely. I added a touch of sugar to bring out the flavors. I wouldn’t have thought these flavors would work so well together but they really do. AND I don’t normally love orange flavors. This tea delivers on the name but also tastes like those Pillsbury Orange Sweet Rolls. Mmmm! I’m at the bottom of my cup and craving more. And my bf inhaled it in less than a few minutes. I’ll definitely be ordering more of this.

drank Lemon Chiffon by The NecessiTeas

If you loved SpecialTeas Lemon Chiffon, then this might be a great replacement. I did love it and I miss it. The primary difference between the two is that this one features green rooibos instead of red, which might please some folks. It is creamy lemon deliciousness. Period. I can find nothing not to love about it nor anything needed to perfect it. Although sometimes I mix things up and have it with a splash of vanilla creamer. Heaven.

drank Carrot Cake by The NecessiTeas
150 tasting notes

To quote my dear husband, “Huh, that tastes exactly like carrot cake”. Honestly, NecessiTEAS has perfectly captured the deliciousness of carrot cake in this beautiful tea. The spices are right on, and with a bit of almond milk I can actually taste the cream cheese frosting. I highly recommend this tea to anyone who enjoys dessert teas the way that I unabashedly do. SO good!

Ashley Bain

The owner told me this is amazing, I am going to have to try it! Who doesn’t love carrot cake?

Jenn

She was speaking the truth! I’m so happy to have an entire tin of this yummy tea :)

drank Root Beer Float by The NecessiTeas
150 tasting notes

Okay, this is a weird but super good tea. I had to try this one despite the somewhat lukewarm reviews because I LOVE root beer. To be fair, the consensus seemed to be that Root Beer Float was a delicious tea that was a bit odd to drink warm. Solution… drink it iced. It’s so hot outside today and drinking a hot tea just seems unthinkable anyway.

I cold steeped this beauty overnight and this morning I had rich, delicious root beer tea. Creamy, sweet, wonderful root beer flavor through and through. Very good!

Daisy Chubb

jealous! This sounds like the a most awesome tea!

Jenn

DaisyChubb, I highly recommend this tea! It really does taste exactly like root beer :)

Taryn, you’re getting a sample of this one :)

DecemberMint

What a good idea _ This sounds delicious!

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

I will have to cold brew this one. I love root beer but I didn’t love this. It was strange to me. I will try again.

Jenn

Rachel, give it a go iced! I really think you’ll enjoy it cold :)

Jenn

Taryn, I would wear that perfume and I’d smell delicious! What can’t you do?
