My sample of this arrived in today’s mail, and I couldn’t resist trying it right away. It looked so intriguing and it smells so good! It looks like a dry fruit medley/trail mix, and the smell made my mouth water… I almost reached in and started munching on it!

This tea became very thick and murky in my smart tea maker. It didn’t want to strain, it was so thick. The wet leaf that remains in my smart tea maker after straining isn’t very appetizing to look at, but, the flavor of the strained liquor is delicious, so it was worth the effort to encourage the tea to pass through the strainer.

Mmm… vanilla, dates, strawberries! It is sweet with a little tartness in the finish… and just plain GOOD. Yummy!

Edited to Add: I just noticed on the page for this tea on the Sanctuary T website, it suggests not to strain or use an infuser with this tea, but to enjoy the fruit bits while you sip. I personally am glad that I did strain it, though, because, I found the damp bits to be a bit muddy looking and not like something I’d want to eat.

It’s a nice tea, but I didn’t taste any chocolate. I am really disappointed.

This tea was sheer dessert-like badassery. Latte the shit out of it.

I ordered the 1-ounce sampler package of this along with the last batch of brownies that I ordered (wanna see my review for the brownies? Check it out: http://sororiteasisters.com/2010/10/10/white-tea-brownies-from-sanctuary-t/ )

This is so good. Even though the description doesn’t indicate it, I can taste and see bits of coconut in this too. Sweet, pineapple-y, and delicious. A little woody from the rooibos, but it isn’t a bad or off-putting taste in the cup, and actually seems to work well with the coconut and pineapple flavors. It has a nice, tropical taste but it doesn’t taste like every other tropical tea that’s out there… know what I mean?

Yum! This is a delightful blend. The peach flavor is sweet and authentic tasting. There is a very light floral taste. The black and green teas are very harmonious here.

drank Lychee Tea by Sanctuary T

This is the best lychee tea that I’ve tasted. Absolutely the best… the difference is the grapefruit! It really rounds out the flavor well… the lychee is not too pungent or sweet, the grapefruit is not too tart. It’s just divine!

With everyones rave reviews I just had to get this, especially with the promotion going on. I will say they are good but the consistency and texture are different from most brownies I have had. It was sort of weird. Almost as if the mixture wasn’t mixed enough before baking. I also didn’t taste the white tea but I expected that. I just loved knowing it was in there. I bought 3 packages of these and I will eat them with the help of my hubby and daughter. I do however, wonder if all the rave reviews made me get my hopes up to high. I might have imagine these to be the most amazing brownies ever that maybe they could even clean my house for me or preform some other type of miracle. I have actually made a brownie using a mix from Trader Joes that was awesome called Truffle Brownie Mix. I would be ok to go with that after these are done. Although, I could imagine buying them again if on sale. Don’t get me wrong they are good but not as good as I was maybe hoping they would be.

LauraR

I love me some Trader Joe’s!

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

Ya know I feel like there is gelatin in here. I am finding random spots where there is a sticky jelly like substance. Weird!

LiberTEAS

Rachel: I think that is caramel. At least, that is what the sticky stuff tasted like to me. :)

When Sanctuary T offered their White Tea Brownies as a steepster select, I couldn’t pass it up. But… I couldn’t just buy the brownies. NO! Of course not. I also ordered the Sanctuary Sampler Kit, which is pretty cool. It’s this neat chipboard portfolio, with the five teas taped to the inside, and index cards that offer information about the teas, brewing, etc. It also includes a small package of T-Sacs and bamboo skewers.

I don’t really use T-Sacs, I have an abundant supply of them, since I bought them bulk to package samples of my own teas in, but, I don’t use them for my own tea brewing very often unless I am doing a side-by-side type of comparison or something. I just prefer my smart brewing device. But… I must say that the adding of the T-Sacs and bamboo skewers is a clever idea especially for those who are new to tea, which is who this sampler kit is obviously created for.

Anyways… The brownies were absolutely to die for, and now they are gone… but I do have more on the way, because Sanctuary T did a very evil thing and offered the discount through this past Saturday. Of course, I’m going to order MORE if you do that!

Back to the tea. This is the first tea that I’m trying from the sampler kit. It smells so nice. Nutty and spicy. I love the smell of cumin and I’m thrilled that someone (besides me) puts cumin in their blends!

This has a very nice balance of sweet and spicy. There is an underlying smoothness to the taste too. Very nice. I like this one a lot!

drank Ceylon OP by Sanctuary T

Even though autumn is around the corner (or rather has already arrived), we love a lil ice in the tea cup. Ceylon OP in particular is wonderful. Enough punch of black with a good citrus twist. Yummm!

Yes we are a bit biased, but in all honesTea this is delicious

THEY CAME! It’s been sooo cold and windy today, I was going to get mail about 4:30 because I expected these to arrive. But to my surprise, the mail lady brought them right to my door about 3:30. This both saved me a trip out into the wind, and gave Madison a treat! (The mail lady always comes prepared.)

When I opened the box I was greated w/ lots of surprises… a hand written thank you, a sample, and 8 small brownies instead of 3 large ones. I prefer this because there’s automatic better portion control and they last longer… definitely helps justify the price. But the real shocker was the shipping cost! I was charged $2.24 for shipping… but Sanctuary T paid $8.20!… this absolutely justifies the price.

Served it w/ a 16oz mug of 52teas Mayan Chocolate Chai (1/2 water, 1/2 Fat Free Smart Balance milk). LiberTEAS is right. These are SO FUDGEY! It looks like there may be caramel on them, but I’m thinking it’s chocolate as I’m not picking up a caramel flavor. The walnut chunks are fairly large- something I could do w/o… and there is that “different” quality… although I don’t think I could name it as white tea.

Conclusions: SO good! Will definitely be ordering them again. Even auto ship worthy. Love the smaller than expected size, but could do w/o the nuts.

RachanaC (Rachel)-iHeartTeas

I am still sad. Why didn’t I get these…why!?!?

Got this as a free sample with my recent order. The smell of the dry leaves really reminds me of something I drank as a kid, no doubt in the Celestial Seasonings ‘Zinger’ family. I had kind of forgotten that I was the lone tea-drinker at home growing up, having tea parties with my stuffed bunnies, serving things I’d made in my Easy Bake oven. Nostalgia. (Twenty years later, I am a pastry student with a nicely-stocked tea cupboard. I guess these things start early.)

Anyway, back to the tea. I decided to try this iced, because it’s hot as Hades outside, and because that’s how I generally prefer my fruity teas, anyway. The pale color and the sweet fullness of it remind me of honey… it’s got that nice coat-your-tongue sort of thick flavor to it. The tea (white and green) is delicate, but the passion fruit is not so strong that it overpowers it. It’s nice.

I can’t decide if I’ve just gotten used to the lavender, or there hasn’t been as much in my cups lately… I’m kind of thinking it’s the latter, and I’ll be super-sad if all of the lavender in the tin was somehow on top.

Normally, herbal in the morning would be unheard of, but I’m not feeling too hot right now, and the caffeine would just make it worse. This is very soothing.

This tea was my deciding factor when I was choosing a retailer for my last tea purchase. I’d been looking for a lavender Earl Grey, and when I saw this yummy-sounding lavender herbal on the same site, I knew I had to try it.

Much like the Lady Grey, the lavender really comes out once it’s steeped. I love chamomile, but for some reason I haven’t been digging it (or any herbals) lately. This blend is definitely changing that, and I think it’s going to become a nightly staple.

I like that this tea is simultaneously soothing because of the lavender, and… zippy(?) the way an Earl Grey often is. It’s fantastic in the morning. (Though, today was more of an early afternoon on the balcony with a book sort of day.)

This is my first lavender Grey, after searching for one for awhile. The lavender smell really comes out when it’s steeped, and the taste is strong, but not overpowering. It’s definitely a nice change from the variety of Earl Greys in my cupboard. Yummy.

Drinking this tea is akin to falling in love.
At first, you notice the young white and green tea leaves peppered with petals. You blush. Then you brew the tea. The tea leaves sink to the bottom and the petal fragments to the top. It’s cute, but so gently delicate as it swirls around the cup; it bathes your senses with ginger notes of apricot and honey, there is a faint passion fruit, but it isn’t tart with you.

The first sip is heaven in a cup. It’s like satin, gliding over your tongue, really letting the quality of the brew saturate you. The tea surprises you: It’s got a subtle butteriness to it, which is very unique. It’s not a shy tea, it’s just polite. The flavor reminds me of Snow Dragon White tea — a mild marriage of vegetal and herbaceous, but lightly sweet.

Definitely worthy of it’s name :)
