I’ve been drinking this tea a lot lately, but haven’t gotten around to posting anything about it. I think that this (lack of) action pretty much sums up the tea.

It’s good, not mindblowing. It’s highly drinkable and doesn’t really distract or add anything to what you are doing or eating. In fact, I think that is it’s biggest strength. And for that reason alone I’ll keep it in my cabinet.

Remedy Teas description is spot on. Lightly oxidized? Uh huh, it’s ever so slightly oxidized and actually has a taste more akin to a green tea. Lilac notes? Yep, but very slight. They are in balance with the lightness of the tea.

It’s a very forgiving tea as well. I have forgotten that I was steeping a cup and come back 20-30 mins later and it is still drinkable and pretty good at that. But, at it’s recommended steep time of 4 mins, there is no hint of bitterness—just a nice well balanced tea.

Cures what ails ya! This amazing blend of pu-erh and spices does exactly what the company says it will. The dark spicy flavors hearken back to a primal cup that needs no explanation. The tea is well balanced, flavorful, and yet unassuming and comfortable. I liked this tea so well I asked for a second steep, which I rarely do at a tea shop. It may be my next bulk purchase. One cup of this tea and all the weight of life left and the creative juices began to flow. I stayed in the tea shop for almost an hour and a half writing in my journal. Good stuff.

Remedy! Still haven’t made it there in my Seattle adventures yet. From my research, one of the few places you can get matcha in Seattle as well. I’m putting this on my “to try” list as well.

Remedy is incredible. It’s modern style, which gets a lot of people down, but it grows on you. The teas are totally worth it though. They source, and blend their own teas. Obviously the traditional ones are finished when the arrive in Seattle. But their blends are incredible, and they do them all here in the city. Their menu is quite good as well. Even something so simple as toast and jam will really hit the spot.

Stop it Christopher- you’re making me miss Seattle even more than I already do… and my “reasons I miss Seattle” is long enough already. :)

This tea has interested me since I saw it on Remedy Teas list over a year ago. I finally got a chance to drink some today.

It was worth the wait. A really interesting flavor profile. First, we have the usual oolong thing going on and despite being heavily oxidized, the tea retains a vegetal note—the first word that came to my mind was bean-sprouts. At the same time the tea contains a good bit of musky, nuttiness that I think most tea drinkers will appreciate. All these flavors are in balance with a slightly sweet overtone.

I easily got 3 steeps out of it. Get some if you can. The color alone is worth it.

This tea is a great tea to always have in your cup. It is a sweet tea that gives you that nice green tea buzz. It has a nice, full body, but isn’t overly complex. Although there is a slight bitterness, it is pretty controlled and in balance with the rest of the tea.

2 steeping was even better—less bitter. 3rd steeping was still good, just getting a little weaker.

And did I mention that it is CHEAP! Like $3.50/oz. Definitely one of the better values I’ve found out there.

I’m not a huge fan of ginger teas, but figured I’d give it a sip. Very ginger-y. I don’t really taste anything besides that. Still not a fan of ginger teas.

This is one of the greatest teas I have ever tasted. A nice mellow green tea infused with hints of cherry, and actual rose petals. It will soothe and calm you. It will wake you up. It will comfort you when you’re low, and intensify your happiness when you’re feeling great. It’s litter wonder this tea is one of very few that Remedy chooses to prepackage. It’s off the charts incredible.

A beautiful blend of tea. Classic, warming, friendly, and near impossible to mess up. Be sure to leave room for the tea to expand in the cup or pot. If the leaves are constrained you’ll end up with a weak result. This tea needs at least twice it’s dry volume to expand.

drank Orange Krush by Remedy Teas

Such a good green tea. It really does taste like orange krush. None of the grassy, bitter notes you can get with a inferior tea. This is all oranges and cream.

Remedy had this available to sample when I was last there. I was amazed at just how creamsicle-y this was, as per their description. I knew I had to buy a bag and turn it into iced tea (something they recommend).

Sadly, I found it made very poor iced tea. What I loved about the sample I had was how the orange flavor far outweighed the vanilla (I have vanilla tea issues…they’re weird and typically unpleasant). A pot of this tea, hot, is absolutely perfect. I love it. However, the orange flavor is almost entirely gone (you can still smell it a bit) and what you’re drinking is a glass of iced vanilla water. Blech.

drank Three G Mate by Remedy Teas

A friend of mine, maozed, got me onto yerba mate last winter when she recommended Celestial Seasoning’s Morning Thunder. I was looking for a mate with other energizing ingredients and decided to give Remedy’s a go.

This tea has everything going for it: yerba mate (love that flavor), ginseng (definitely an eye-opener), and green tea (added benefit of getting your mom to stop hassling you about adding anti-oxidants to your diet).

I didn’t get that near-instantaneous awake feeling that I do with black teas – it took a couple of cups. However, I didn’t experience a caffeine crash as I so often do. Bonus!

The overall flavor is as Remedy describes: light and grassy, not loaded with flavorings. Very enjoyable.

Eh, this tea isn’t bad. Shared a pot with maozed and I really wanted to be wow-ed by it. (Side note: one of the best things I’ve ever canned was a jar of pear-ginger preserves. Amazing.) In the end, as maozed mentioned, the pear was all in the fragrance. What you’re drinking is ginger tea. Don’t get me wrong. I’m the kind of person who will toss a finger of ginger in a pot of water and drink that. I love ginger. However, I was very much wanting a distinct pear-ginger combo.

drank Deep Sleep by Remedy Teas

I was not expecting this tea to have as much effect on me as it did. I’ve taken valerian root in the past but it’s never helped me sleep, nor has plain old chamomile tea, lavender, etc. Also, valerian has the unfortunate tendency to taste truly awful. I was wary of this tea, to say the least. What sold it was the fact that I love the flavors of all the other ingredients and the intrigue of peppercorns put it over the top.

I finally made a pot when I faced the dilemma of feeling wide awake when I had to get up early the next morning. Maybe it was all placebo effect but within 20 minutes of drinking a cup, I could barely function enough to walk from the couch to my bed. And the flavor? Amazing. Even the valerian was good. Overall, the taste is much more delicate and chamomile-ish than the pungent odor would indicate.

Big fan of this one. The rose petals give it a little something extra without being overwhelming and perfumey. Nice with a spoonful of honey or raw sugar.

drank Night Rose by Remedy Teas

I always used to buy rose petal tea from a shop in Victoria, BC. I ran out over a year ago and have been glancing at my empty tin wistfully but was determined not to pay shipping fees. When I saw this on the menu at Remedy, I bought a bag suspecting that I would enjoy it at least as much as my old stuff. This turned out to be very true! The tea is incredibly fragrant and they don’t skimp on the rose petals. I managed to get three good steeps from one spoonful.

drank Ginger Pear Oolong by Remedy Teas

Shared a pot of this with Beth at Remedy Teas today. I found that the flavors weren’t very strong and I couldn’t detect the pear at all. The pear oolong at T in Vancouver has a much more pronounced pear flavor which I prefer.
