Red Root Shop

Red Root sent me a bag of this, after I submitted and lost a contest (YouTube video to appear within the next few days). They wanted me to share my thoughts via YT and IG, but Steepster gets an early preview. :)

This is very, very sweet. It’s also very spicy. The intensity of the ginger is welcoming, but it’s like drinking (if memory serves me well) a non-carbonated ginger ale. Although I like that this candy looking brick can make something so gingery and tasty – it’s still too sweet.

So a Canadian friend of mine from Instagram asked me to order some of this and ship it to her, since the company doesn’t ship to Canada. I figured while I was at it, I would order an extra package and try it myself!

Yeah, no. The ginger is quite spicy, which I don’t mind actually. However, otherwise it’s essentially like drinking brown sugar water. It’s so sweet and too much for me, ha ha… I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since it’s literally a block of brown sugar and I assume date syrup, with some ginger mixed in.

Luckily I know she loves it so I’m planning to pass on the rest of my pouch along to her! :)
