Right after I finished my Ceylon tea, my father (who went retired today!) come and said he wants a coffee. Well, and he don’t want to drink it alone, so I have picked another tea, this time something caffeine-free as that tea was very caffeine strong.
I apparently picked wrong tea. Rooibos was well present, but “madam Grey” flavour — that citrusy aroma and taste was incredlibly strong, reminding me rather dish soap, noticed only lemon notes. It was indeed very strong, making aroma and taste quite unbearable. Well in ingredients is listed: rooibos 90 %, aroma. So 10 % of that tea bag (2 g) is full of aroma/flavours, or I don’t know what?
It was way too strong! That’s what I disliked on this tea.
Flavors: Citrus Zest, Lemon
Preparation
Yesterday I ate too much kebab apparently and today was my stomach upset.
So I took another tea bag – I should return to loose leaf at home.
Zažívání means digesting. Steeped for 10 minutes, as it is recommended, boiling water.
Colour is medicinal green. Like the box I guess.
Aroma – herbs, peppermint and chamomile.
Taste – herbal, dominant peppermint with chamomile sweetness. Bit spicy due to ginger. Nice and easy drinking tea, pure herbals, no extra ingredients. It was not really tasty – but it was not so bad as I expected.
My stomach feels better now.
Flavors: Ginger, Herbs, Peppermint
Congrats to your father! That’s a big step! (:
Indeed, a lifetime of work and now some time to enjoy.
Congrats to your father! I hope he has a wonderfully happy retirement!
I was permanently scarred by a rooibos Earl Grey. I hope your father finds great pleasure in retirement!
Haha, thank you teafriends! He said to me it is so strange to wake up and in mind “I don’t have to do anything, and I will get money.” Haha.
derk: yep, decent rooibos earl grey will be pretty hard to find I guess. This one was just bad. Too citrusy. But rooibos base wasn’t bad!
