This tea is very different than what I usually drink. The tea is pale yellow in color with tiny white hairs floating in it. It smells floral and the taste is very light and slightly sweet. Its a very nice tea for relaxing and contemplating life. Its not a tea I would drink every day, but its nice and interesting.

This is my first white tea but I do like it. The leaves are green and soft with little white hairs on them. I don’t know what to compare the smell to other than to say that they smell fresh and airy. It is a very soft aroma. The tea brews up to be a light golden color with tiny white hairs in it. The tea is very delicate with a mild sweet floral taste. I have no other white teas to compare this tea to so I’m rating it as it appeals to me. I like it a lot.

This is an excellent high quality tea with the typical yunnan traits. I get a rich malty taste with caramel notes. yum.

This is such a wonderful tea. Its robust and mellow at the same time. This tea gives me caramel notes with a peppery finish every time. It also has that raisiny sugar smell and it looks as beautiful as it tastes.

All I can say is that I just love this yunnan tea. Caramel and peppery while being robust and smooth and no bitterness. Hard to ask for much more.

The tin on this teas states that one should steep for 3 minutes…I did 4. My first sip was caramel notes. For me the tea was much smoother, malty and no bitterness or astringency. I also get the peppery finish I’ve come to expect from Yunnan teas. Four minutes is my new steeping time for this tea. It was so much more enjoyable for me that I need to up the ratings a few points. I’m still getting caramel notes as the tea cools. This one is on its way to becoming my favorite yunnan. Rishi step aside. I just love yunnan teas.

Does that mean you might have changed your mind by now?

Dan

Nope, today this tea was better, I had both.

My Leafspa arrived today and I dug out the yunnan. It rivals the Rishi Golden Yunnan I have. The tin is really packed with tea. It’s one fantastic deal for yunnan that tastes like this. The yunnan taste is there, earthy, peppery, and distinctly yunnan. I drink a lot of Yunnan tea, I have quite a few in my cupboard. I would not say that this is the best, but it would be in my top 5. I will order it again

Two scoops, brewed hot, four minutes, no additives.

I forgot about just how astringent this can get, I have been taking too many liberties with other teas. Anyway, still good, has a great flavor while hot/warm, but once it cools down starts to get astringent.

Many thanks again for the birthday wishes all, and to move forward, I needed to wake up today for my extremely early commute to work. The best way to do this was with a hot steaming mug of this one from LeafSpa!

Infused (hot) with no additives, 5 minutes. A darker brew has the rich, yet delicate aromas of the pepper and black tea, and with a longer infusion time, some smokiness that I love :)

Perfect pick-me-up this morning, enjoy!

I ordered this the other day when it was on the Steepster Select deal. Not surprisingly, I received it the very next day because I live in the same state…

First, I have to say, that the tea is really packed in this tin, not that it is crushed, it is loosely in the tin and has room to move, but man, did they fill the tin, as in, I opened it up to smell it and lost some tea. Fantasticly full :)

Second, kudos to you Leafspa, you did a fantastic job advertising, you really got your name out there and then with this fantastic deal on Steepster Select (half price tea, how could I say no?) you sealed the deal.

Thirdly, the packaging is the most detailed I have ever seen. The label on the tin has everything you could possibly want to know about the tea. I was especially impressed with the infusion instructions and a warning so you do not oversteep: because as the package spelled-out “tea will become bitter”.

I brewed two scoops in my 22 ounce beehouse pot. Brewed 2 minutes, hot, no additives. This tea is very good. The leaves are definitely high quality, they are mixed gold and black curls of tea. The smell is peppery and black tea. The infusion makes a copper colored liquor. The aroma is again, peppery, black, a little earthy and distinctly Yunnan tea. The tea flavor is delicious; earthy black tea, with a peppery note coming up at the end of the mouthfull and finishing with a slight aftertaste (of pepper).

I did not get the smokiness I was hoping to get like I did with The Tiger, but I think that might be from infusion time. I will rebrew this again and see if I can get the smokey flavor I so desire. Overall, very good tea, definitely worth trying.

I am SOO glad I ordered this then!

Yay! It was very good, hope you get yours soon so I can read your review!

Lori, If this is better than our “blah” Adagio Yunnan Gold experience of two days ago please let me know I’d be interested.:)

Ricky

Twenty-two ounce! That’s a lot of tea! I didn’t cave on this deal, yay for self control :) Sounds delicious, but I have too much tea.

teabird

Way jealous of your fast shipping! I can’t wait for mine to arrive, hopefully in the next day or two..

Cinoi

@Ricky Yea, I have a big tea pot, haha. I know the feeling of too much tea, but I could not pass up the price…and of course and excuse to buy some Yunnan…
@Tea Bird, I got a shipping confirmation like three hours after ordering it, so they were on top of the game regardless of my location, I’m sure you’ll get it soon… :)

Cinoi

Also, I should say I got a very successful second infusion with this tea (in my massive teapot). Same steeping parameters: hot, no additives, 1.5 minutes.

After a long day, I decided to ice this tea for a treat. Mmm! What a good idea it was to ice this. I like the the jasmine isn’t as prevalent as in some other green/jasmine teas. The jasmine flavor and the vegetal green tea flavors coincide very nicely. I will continue to sip this down too fast for my own good :)

Cofftea

Chug tea, insert foley LOL:)

do you know what is sad? When you get to the bottom of a tea tin and you realize this is your last cup of this tea. :( I had a enough left to make some iced tea, so I have about 32 oz. of blink bonnie iced tea to savor over the next few hours, until it is all gone. This tea tastes fantastic iced and a bit stronger than when brewed hot, which makes the tea taste wonderful. Brewed stronger, I can taste subtle nuances that I might not normally taste when hot.

The liquor is a pale honey/copper color and has some similar smells that were in the dry leaf, which was a savory smell. The wet leaf really had more of a black tea smell to it, which was reminicent of a ceylon tea to me, smelling tanin like and a tiny bit malty. The tea is silky and light. It really does not stay around in your mouth very long, but the flavors are great within your mouth. I automatically pick up are some astringency, which again echos a black or oolong tea. I also taste some earthiness, and sweetness in the flavor.
