Here’s a tea I’ve had for quite some time, from Three Whales, who I haven’t seen on here for awhile. This was part of the trade when a bunch of us were having a book club & reading , “An American Heiress”. I’ve sort of lost touch with the bookclub too.

Today, this is terrible. LOL, sorry Harrods, there is a weird taste in that made itself known as the tea cooled. bleck. I’m leaving to go play a wedding, so for the record right now my total tea count is 242.
When I get home, LOOK OUT!

Uh oh. I need to get home and get cracking.

i’m totally stopping at 237 tonight. My head is just not happy with me so i’m having trouble focusing on things. it just wants comfort teas, not new teas.

Here is another tea from the book club tea trade, this one coming from Three Whales. Thanks!
It’s snowing in St. Louis, but it’s not cold enough to stick. I love watching the snow fall, & I don’t mind that it’s not sticking, not one bit! That makes it easier for me to move my Harp, although I actually don’t have another gig until Saturday night. So I’m sipping tea & alternating between students, desk work, & a few other things.

I suddenly have several earl greys to sample, & this is one of them. I’m not really all that good at comparing the flavors & nuances of teas. I’ve tried, & although I can taste differences, I can’t always find the words to describe those differences. So for the most part, I’d rather just enjoy each cup as it stands alone, & not try to decide which one I like more.

Having said that, this is a nice Earl Grey too!
This one also doesn’t have a strong bergamot presence. It is there, but not in your face.
The black tea base is very smooth, & there is a very buttery quality to the cup, & an almost caramel like flavor. Perfect for sipping while I watch the snow fall.

If you want to try some other harrods tea I have some from when I went to London that was not my thing but maybe you would like it. Let me know.

Thanks for the offer Ellyn!
Not sure that I care so much Harrods, but I just peeked at your cupboard & you have lots of 52 teas I’ve never tried. Look & see if I have anything that interests you, if you’d like to do a trade! On second thought, wait a day or 2 before you look, as I’m going to update my cupboard…

The balance of tea to bergamont is spot on. Holds up very well to milk and sugar. Would make a nice breakfast tea. I don’t normally think of EG for breakfast, but this one is bolder and would pair nicely with a hearty breakfast.

I made a second brew of the teabag and added just a touch of lemon this time instead. Brilliant!

The tea is great, but I tried a tad of vanilla soy milk with it. I now know that I like neither almond nor soy in my English Breakfast…

Sweet, yet rich and full. I prefer this one with milk and sugar.

I’ve tried many Earl Grey teas. This is simply my favorite. The tea is strong even when adding milk and sugar. I can easily have two – three cups of this per day.

best black tea i’ve ever tried hands down.
beautifully sweet aroma with every sip.

i don’t take sugar, for you out there who don’t:
somehow it reacts wonderfully with just teeny bit a natural stevia extract, bringing out a sweet, full, and rich flavor, without washing out the original aroma of the tea.
