I’m not going to rate this, because I lost track of time and over-steeped it. But I will say that I didn’t smell or taste even a hint of butterscotch in this sample. It just tasted like a mediocre, fairly bitter black tea.

This tasted good, but frankly, I couldn’t have picked out vanilla or pomegranate if I tried. It has primarily plain white tea flavor, with a bit of a twist that I personally couldn’t describe. I have been trying to taste without searching up the tea in efforts to improve my recognition of flavors, as well as not being biased (good or bad) by reviews here or on the tea’s page. I do not have enough to taste it again to see if knowing the flavors helps significantly or not.

I really enjoy white peony in general – it is really interesting floral flavor that is somehow also very fresh without having citrus, and I like it hot and iced. This brand has a good one, or at least it tastes as good as any other I have had. I recommend giving it a taste if you want something fresh.

This one is really good – it was very reminiscent of baked goods, and I was expecting a punch of astringency because a lot of the black teas I have tried from this brand have had that quality…and nothing. Just hot deliciousness. Until it cooled to warm…then astringency up the wazoo! Because of this, I probably won’t purchase, but should I come across any I would happily drink it up. While it is still hot, anyhow.

This is a really strong black tea – very malty, somewhat astringent, even with a 200 degree steep temp. I find I rarely use boiling water anymore for black tea for fear of the dreaded astringency. Alas, I can’t imagine what this one would have been if I had, as this was barely drinkable for me. Recommended for those who like a really strong tea and are more tolerant of astringency.

This is pretty good, but I am finding that darjeelings might just not be my jam in general. It is malty and a little bit astringent, which many people like, but I don’t care a ton for. Definitely drinkable, and probably very enjoyable for a person who isn’t so sensitive to astringency.

If you like super strong flavor, this is really for you. I knew going in that I wouldn’t like it without a bit of milk to smooth it out, and I am glad I did. The tea flavor wasn’t compromised at all by the milk, it was so bold, and it was a great wake me up this morning. This kind of tea isn’t one I would purchase on my own, but I am happy to drink up samples and such, but I recommend it for people who are into a strong morning wake-up.

I realized today that I really haven’t had much in the way of English Breakfast tea before. I realized this as I was trying to think of what to compare this to, and failed. It seems tasty enough – it was bold but not too overwhelming, and would have tasted better with some milk (but I usually try teas for the first time without add ins unless it is chai). A solid choice for sure, but not a personal staple.

Good breakfast tea. A little bit more astringent than I like. Has some chocolate notes that are good. I added milk and sugar, which improved on the astringency, but I would prefer not to have to add anything to my teas. A strong cup of tea to wake up to.

Pretty good tea but not as good as the Irish Cream. This tea has a more astringent taste to it that I can’t get out of my mouth even after adding milk to it. There’s a very pleasant taste to it, but I can’t pinpoint what it is exactly. I want to say it’s something citrusy but I just can’t put my finger on it.

First time trying an oolong and it reminds me of the teas I’ve tried in the past with my dad. I guess I just didn’t know that I was drinking an oolong back then. The tea is very delicious but I don’t really know how to describe the flavors I taste. I do have to say that it tastes better cold than hot because there’s less astringency to it when cold. Will definitely be trying more oolongs in the future.

I was really excited to try this tea because it was a cream earl grey version. However, after trying it I can’t say that I love it. The cream taste doesn’t come out very well in the tea and neither does the earl grey.

Holy punch in the face. Even with a healthy dash of almond milk, this was certainly effective at waking me up this morning. I’ve never had any other Scottish Breakfast teas, so I can’t comment much else on the flavor, but I think I prefer Earl Grey or Chai for my morning jolt.

Delicious tea very similar to the Irish Breakfast Cream but a little bit more astringent. Flavors are very similar but without the creaminess of the aforementioned tea which makes sense. Has a sweet, caramel undertone and a bit malty. Love that I’ve discovered the world of Irish breakfast teas because they are very delicious!

Another delicious tea from the Great British Tea Store. I’ve never tried a Darjeeling before and I surprisingly like it. I don’t enjoy it as much as the Irish Breakfast Cream, but it’s still delicious nonetheless. It has a malty smell and taste to it. Goes down smooth with a slight astringency but not really. A very enjoyable tea.

Yummmm just discovered the world of Irish breakfast teas. Have never tried this type of tea before but wanted to branch out and try new things and I’m glad I did because this one is very delicious. It’s slightly sweet due to the natural flavors added to the tea and it also has a creamy flavor but the tea doesn’t look creamy after it’s brewed.

Tasty, but I normally prefer to cold brew and this would have been weak if I did. Juicy and a bit tart…but overall kind of underwhelming compared to what else is out there. Very generic berry flavor.

Cold steeping this was a mistake. I did so the way I do most teas, and it was tasty enough…but I didn’t really get raspberry and honey. I got more of a fruity whisp with black tea taste. And no honey. Hm. Perhaps hot this is good, but I used up the sample cold steeping it because with fruity flavors it usually does great things…but not this time apparently.

This was pretty good. I was concerned it would be super artificial tasting, but was pleasantly surprised. The lemon isn’t sharp at all and the natural rooibos sweetness works well with it. That said, I don’t adore it, as this isn’t the type of tea I normally go for. Always good to try samples given the opportunity, though.

This was pretty good. With the emergence of some fall like weather (though not today, or this week, apparently) I have suddenly mentally switched to fall it seems. Comforting, sweet flavors, and spicy scents for candles and perfume are where I am at now. I just have a few more warmer-weather candles to use up, and then the two fall ones I just got will be busted out. I mention this because the one is a chai candle I got from Target. I’ve gotten it before, and it smells sooo creamy and sweet and spicy.

I digress. But with a splash of almond milk, I would definitely enjoy this on a fall morning, though the butterscotch flavor is fairly subtle.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of this – it was alright, but chocolate teas and I just make me crave the real thing, and this one tasted kind of artificial. I actually got a pretty strong mint note though, which I was surprised to taste. I liked that. Perhaps a mint rooibos is what I really need.

This was really good. I have taken to enjoying Earl Grey in the mornings, in various forms, now that I realize how much I love it when it is tempered with milk. Without milk, it tastes soapy to me. But some really strong ones need a lot of milk, while others seem to taste soapy without but no bergamot comes through with just a splash of milk either. This one is definitely in between. A splash of milk was just right for a big mug to make it creamy, but the flavor still shines through easily.

This was very tasty and fragrant, but I think I won’t be making straight tea out of lavender anymore. It is so intensely floral that it ends up tasting kind of soapy…but I am very excited to use this for baking, and cold steeping in lemonade and other things.

This was super super good. I am into chai, particularly on chilly days and mornings. This morning was pretty cold (in fact, a ton of mornings this summer have been downright cold – here’s hoping it isn’t a predictor for another hellish winter), so I brewed this up. I made it pretty strong, and added a drop of honey and some unsweetened almond milk and I was SO impressed at the strength of the spice. It is definitely very spicy – it even made my tongue feel a little burn-y. Just a teensy bit, enough to make me impressed. It would be perfect if it had more vanilla flavor to compete with the spice a bit more, though I can taste vanilla when I drink it as is. If you don’t like very spicy chai, stay away. If you are like me, give it a taste.
