I liked this one alright. I tasted both the citrus and the pomegranate. The citrus is bright and tangy and the sweet-tart notes of pomegranate was noticeable primarily in the aftertaste. A buttery taste from the green tea.

Overall, a pleasant cup. Here’s my full-length review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/08/31/whole-leaf-green-tea-with-essence-of-citrus-and-pomegranate-from-eden-grove/

I had high expectations for this tea and unfortunately, I don’t feel that it met those expectations. Then again, when a tea has bergamot, my expectations are usually very high and maybe that’s not fair. I love my bergamot.

That’s not to say I disliked this tea, I didn’t. I actually enjoyed it, but it wasn’t as strongly flavored as I like my bergamot to be. I appreciated the robust flavor of the Iverness estate black tea, but I wanted the bergamot to be on even footing with the strength of the black tea and it just wasn’t.

This is quite a yummy tea. The black tea isn’t particularly rich or robust, it’s actually quite smooth and mild and I find that the flavor of the black tea has been lightened by the softer, buttery, sweet notes of the green tea. I like that I taste both the green and the black teas here.

The fruit flavors do not overwhelm the cup. I can taste both the pineapple and the passion fruit. It’s an enjoyable cup.

Pleasant. The Ceylon in this blend is rich and even a little malty. Smooth with notes of sweetness. It melds nicely with the floral notes of the Peony. I don’t know that the floral notes that I’m tasting I’d immediately identify as “Peony” but then … I can’t recall ever drinking a tea with the essence of the peony flower.

It’s a sweet, gentle floral note. Overall, a pleasant, mellow cuppa.

One of the nicer lime green teas that I’ve tried. The lime is a gentle flavor, it’s not too tart and it’s not in my face. It doesn’t sour. It reminds me a bit of a lime curd, like the filling you might find when you have a lime cupcake from a gourmet cupcake shop. (I’m a sucker for gourmet cupcakes.)

The lime is bright and refreshing while the green tea is light and sweet, with a touch of vegetative taste.

An unusual blend – let’s face it, you’re probably not going to find a lemongrass and chrysanthemum green tea blend in every tea shop. But I enjoyed it.

The green tea was light and sweet with a buttery note. I can’t say that the buttery note came from the green tea or the lemongrass or a combination of both. It was very soft and had a nice mouthfeel.

The chrysanthemum offered a very light floral note while the lemongrass gave a slight citrus-y note. Overall, a pleasant, delicate, enjoyable cuppa.

One of the more unusual teas I’ve come across in my tea journey. It has a lot going on, but the flavors work in a pleasing way.

Flavorful blend of mint and flower with an earthy, sweet background. I taste both the black and the green tea (I brewed it at a lower temperature to avoid scorching the green tea.) The black tea is probably not as full-flavored as it would be if I brewed it at a higher temp, but, I feared a bitter taste from the green tea if I brewed it too hot.

I’m happy that the mint isn’t overpowering this blend, and neither is the hibiscus – yay!

Marzipan

Is it supposed to be like After Eight the candy?

LiberTEAS

No. I’m not sure why they call it after eight. But it’s not like the candy.

I had this from a box of tea sachets that I got at Home Goods awhile back when I was in a pinch for new tea…. (definitely don’t have that problem now!)

I didn’t get any of the cinnamon or clove spiciness at all from this tea. It was just fruity to me. Definitely on the more tart end of the fruity spectrum too, which I think is due to the hibiscus. It reminded me a bit of the Adagio Blood Orange tea that I have in my cupboard.

It was alright, but I’m not sorry it was the last sachet of it.

Preparation

I wasn’t too terribly excited to try this tisane … or any tisane that boasts hibiscus as their primary ingredient. I don’t like hibiscus.

Despite my initial misgivings, this is actually quite tasty. Even though hibiscus is listed as the first ingredient on the ingredient list, there is relatively little hibiscus in this. A look through the silky pyramid fabric shows only a couple of hibiscus pieces in it, mostly I see lemongrass. I like lemongrass.

The flavor is citrusy, tart, and a little sweet. It’s an enjoyable caffeine free tisane. Not my favorite from Eden Grove, but I’d drink it again.

A rich and satisfying Ceylon. Those are two words that I don’t usually think of immediately when I think of Ceylon (Brisk, crisp, mild tasting are words that I associate with Ceylon.) But this Ceylon even has some maltiness to it. It’s a good one.

I taste notes of fruit and flower in every sip. Distant notes of earth and leather. It’s a pleasant cup of tea.

I was a little worried before I sampled this because when hibiscus is the first ingredient … I worry. I don’t like hibiscus.

But this isn’t too bad. I steeped it for 5 minutes, and this kept the hibiscus’s power at a minimum. It didn’t taste too thick or syrupy or tart.

The spice notes are nice and I like that contrast to the sweet, fruity tones. A tasty, tropical “fruit chai.”

As I mention in my full-length review of this tea (see it here: http://sororiteasisters.com/2014/01/31/whole-leaf-green-tea-essence-sunflower-eden-grove/ ) … I found the ingredient list here confusing. The Camellia Sinensis with Red Pigments? What does that mean exactly. I mean, I know that Red Tea can mean either what we know here as black tea, or it can also be referring to rooibos. But I’ve never known it to have anything to do with green tea.

As far as how it tastes, it tastes like green tea with sunflower petals, and that’s what it appears to be. The sunflower adds a perky “sharpness” to the cup. The green tea is sweet and light.

An enjoyable cuppa … even if it was confusing.

As far as bagged/sacheted teas go, I have to say that these from Eden Grove are some of the better ones that I’ve tried.

This particular blend has a robust black tea flavor with a light, lemon-y/lime-y sort of flavor that perks up the flavor just a bit. The lemongrass isn’t a strong essence, although the flavors do continue to develop as I continue to sip.
