That said, I have been thinking about this and trying it as a latte since I tried it for the first time a couple days back. So, I decided I would take the time to have it as a latte today.

The smell of coconut coming off this latte was so strong and while I definitely get a coconut cream aftertaste, the majority of the sip is actually more the toasted rice/genmaicha. It’s good but less dessert-like than I expected. Weirdly enough I found this was the case when I would make the 52 Teas Marshmallow Genmaicha Treat blends as lattes. For some reason the prep method brings out the base over the flavoring with these…

This is from one of my earlier Deb orders and I just kept overlooking it. People in the Sipdown group were talking about it the other day though and so it seemed as good a time as any to give it a go.

I actually really like it. It reminds me of 52 Teas Marshmallow Treat Genmaichas…with a whole lot of coconut as Deb tends to do.

M is for…Morning Mimosa

This was part of my sub box. I decided to make it as a tea pop. Except I am really not liking it that way. It’s got a lot of citrus flavor but there is almost sort of skunky about this. I think its something weird about the teapop and will try the last serving either just iced or hot.

I dislike jasmine…thankfully this one was super light…sort of reminded me of “punch” but was also a little bitter. Another sample from VariaTEA. Love sharing teas even if they aren’t always wins!

J is for… Jolly Jammy Linzer!

A little short on “J” teas too, and didn’t want to go digging, so I grabbed this one. Unfortunately, I recall absolutely nothing about it today. I know my first attempt was too heavy on the yucky medicinal rooibos flavours, but if those were present this time, they weren’t as apparent. All I can really say is that it was drinkable, and I drank it. Lots left, better review to come later.

Another sipdown! need to make a bit of room in my cupboard on the flavouerd side lol. MIddle of the road maple blend from deb. It’s unfortunate so many of her blends just kinda tast maple-y or coconut-y. She’s got some great ideas, but not so great execution for my tastes.

middle of the road for me here. I’ve had this a few times now and it’s not blow your mind, but it’s not a bad little tea. Don’t need to restock it but i’m fine having purchased it. Kinda feels like a maple genmaicha more than a black salted caramel tea.

Ugh i had this the other day and while the tea wasn’t super exciting it was a reasonable brew…and smelled fantastic! thanks for the sample variaTEA!

Sipdown! this one was fine…like a lot of the blends from deb, they sort of land squarely in the middle for me..usually a lot of maple.

nope. Too much lavender, not enough “cocoa” and mostly just nope. Thanks for the share VariaTEA haha

Latte Sipdown (283)

I have finally filled the TTB as much as I intend to and have divided up the Sil samples for me and Roswell Strange. That means the box is ready to go to Ros. And since that is ready, the other packages I have been filling were all to get closed off too so my brother-in-law could make one big run to the post office.

One of those packages is for one of my best friends who loves lavender earl greys. I intended to pull this sample out to make as a latte and send the rest off to her. However, my latte used the whole sample so this is actually my first empty of April – yay!!

This is fine. The lavender, as per usual, is not my favorite. It’s soapy but not overwhelming like it was in Cocoa Lavender Latte. However, its enough that I don’t really want this again. The bergamot doesn’t do much to improve it for me but that is because I am picky with my earl greys anyways. Basically this had a lot working against it when it comes to my personal tastes. What it had that was appealing was the tea cake aspect and I am not getting much cake. Like I said, it’s fine. It’s not for me though. Now I feel bad not just passing this on since my friend likely would have appreciated it more.

Iced Latte Sipdown (202)

This was an alright tea and made a nice latte with some added caramel. However, it’s not a tea I need more of now that it’s gone.

Originally I was going to make a latte of a different tea but I wasn’t sure I would have enough leaf so I randomly grabbed another tea out of the drawer and it was this. I feel like cookie butter has been popular with bakers lately, at least the ones I follow on Instagram.

Anyways, I wanted something caramel-esque and this seemed close enough to what I was going for. As a latte this is very good because it has a sort of thickness in the flavour that you would get from a cookie butter. It’s also sweet but not quite fully caramel. I think it’s got a classic Deb flavour profile with the heavy maple chips and I think it could be flat if I don’t make it as a latte but as a latte it’s good.

sipdown of this one. sadly not sure how to rate it as my taste buds seem messed up from the hospital lol. all my teas are tasting a little weird unless they’re fruit herbals.
