I got this awhile back from a buddy thank you. Now most of the time I do not like roobios unless the roobios is subtle, but I wanted to try this for the chocolate and the mint. Well this is decent and better then most roobios and I like the mint but the chocolate is just not strong enough and I can still taste the roobios too much. So this is decent to me.

Well, looks like 10 years ago I felt the same about this tea! It’s appealingly cakey-scented but the flavour isn’t great – the black base is flat and tannic, with just a bit of cakey flavouring overtop.

Ok! Another sample from LiberTEAS! I’m doing this review “blind”, meaning that I have no idea what the flavouring is supposed to be here, if the tea is flavoured beyond the smattering of sprinkles that are obvious. I think it’s kind of fun to try and figure things out before looking at what it’s actually supposed to be.

The aroma of this tea reminds me a great deal of DavidsTea’s Birthday Cake, although that one is a rooibos and this is a black. It’s an almost sickly sweet sort of aroma (which I find appealing, haha), and I can just barely catch a hint of the black base. I don’t know whether it’s the sprinkles that give the tea the sweet aroma, or flavouring.

Even at only three minutes of steeping (ok, 3:07, but who’s counting!), I’m getting a bitter flavour at the end of the sip. I can taste some sweetness, but it’s quite mild, and a bit overshadowed by this strange bitterness. Blech. This tea definitely has nothing on DT’s cake teas. They’re not even in the same league. I might add some milk and sugar here just to make it palatable, but this definitely is one flavoured black I don’t feel the need to have again.

Ok, cheating now and reading some notes… of course I would read that LiberTEAS found it to be verging on bitter with a 2.5 minute infusion! Haha. Maybe next time I try it it will be better. I am definitely getting vanilla-y and possible maple-y notes; as I said, it is reminiscent of Birthday Cake, which has those same flavours, but the change in base tea alters the flavours a bit, which are then further overshadowed by bitterness. Ah well. Not bad, but not a tea I’d choose for myself :)

drank Green Citrus by BourgeaTEA

I brewed some of this last night. It’s pretty good. The sweetness intensifies as it cools, and by the time it reached a warm temperature (somewhere between hot and room temperature), I found myself unable to stop drinking it, as it was so tasty. Leads me to think that this would make a stunning iced tea.

The citrus flavor does not overwhelm the fresh, slightly grassy green tea taste. While hot, the lemon and lime flavors were very apparent (not too strong though, as I said), but as the tea cools, the flavors morph into an almost grapefruit-y taste. It was rather interesting. I like this.

Sounds really great!

Very dense and tasty. It’s like drinking a milky water.

I just received my order of samples from BourgeaTea today (as if I need to sample more teas… LOL) and this is the first of the samples that I decided to try.

YUM! It does have a cake-y kind of taste in the background, slightly malty with a lovely vanilla overtone. Sweet and tasty. The black tea offers a sturdy background flavor, rich and flavorful, slightly astringent. It is not bitter, but, it tasted like it was almost there. I steeped it for 2 1/2 minutes, and that seems like that is the best time frame to steep this one in a Breville, as I suspect that if it were steeped any longer than that it would be bitter. But as it is, it’s rather nice.

I like this … a lovely tea to celebrate one’s un-birthday!

I am down with anything cake-y! Sounds delish!

And a very merry un-birthday to you!

This one has been on my wishlist for AGES!

Soo…I’m not really a fan of Pu-erh tea ,but I barley notice the taste of it in this detox mix. I love the lemon myrtle, juniper and the ginger in the mix. I have been drinking it every other day, for the flavor but not for the “detox” benefits. I feel good afterwards, but I also feel good after a good oolong as well. I would buy this again. It was a great price to I bought this and the green chai together for I think $16 plus they threw in some nice samples.

yum…Im now slowly moving into more green tea. I’m a huge chai fan, and will try almost any type of chai. This is a nice familiar taste when looking into my green tea section of the cabinet. It has a nice spice to it with a vegetal taste backing it. After reading a few reviews and watching the TeaShow episode I knew that the pineapple is not really pronounced like you would think it would be. I still enjoyed this tea a great deal. It is the first tea I have had that already has sugar added to it. With a teaspoon and a half it was not too sweet. It was just right :)

Kind of a standard issue vanilla rooibos. Tasty, but I do prefer a tad bit more vanilla in mine. Want it to get in my face a little more.

As far as peach teas go, this one is darn good. Flavor profile is full and straddles the line between peach candy and natural peaches. Very nectary.

The Pu-erh used in this one is rather mild so don’t let it scare you off. It primarily tastes of spice of lemons. I found it to be an enjoyable cup. Problem is that I don’t know how tea you get in small cannister.
