Sipdown!!
A swirl of honey covered up the staleness. It was an extra strong cup as well. I just couldn’t bear to toss this in the trash. Every drop was savoured.
Goodbye old friend!

Fjellrev

Aww, so sad when you’re willing to still drink that last stale cup because it was once so good.

Indigobloom

@Fjellrev I know right? Old Darj reminds me of slightly worn cotton socks. Hence the honey. Still worth it!

Fjellrev

Very unique association! Glad it was worth it haha.

Indigobloom

lol thanks :P

Gah. I can’t believe I have some of this left.
It lost a lot of flavour pretty quick but I don’t have it often so much anymore. I maxed out on it and then left it alone for awhile… shouldn’t have done that. Oh well.
My last few cups were very meh, but today was better. I let it sit a lot longer. Still nowhere near where it was.
One day I’ll order more, if the company is still around!

On to life things…
UGH what a craptastic week. Drama at work. Multiple dramas with the family. Then a family funeral (not related to drama!) oh and OT at work. Just one of those weeks. and now I’m at home catching up on things that need doing. So you could say I’m a little weary, to say the least. and sad. Glad I’m hanging with the boy tonight.
(oh and the person who passed was 90yrs old, the grandmother of the family who befriended mine when Mum first came to the country, and helped through tough times. So not blood, but still family… yet not someone I knew well, or saw much of myself. Kindof an odd situation)

It’s Tuesday… I’m in love? Doesn’t sound the same does it…
Anyhow, I reorganized my cupboard the other day and realized it had been three months since I had some of this complex beaut! Wow. Can’t let that happen again.
It isn’t the strongest tea I’ve ever had but then Darj rarely is. Plenty of character of course. I love how my palate can’t decide whether its an oolong or a Darj… because it really is both :P
Theres a definite muscatel note, very clouded by a sweet malty something or other. Barley, maybe? Not quite hay…. oh and then the aftertaste is a bit fruity. Apricot and sweet red honey berries. Oh man, this is my new amore!

On the personal front, I just need to vent a little. Feel free to ignore this part k?
The whole diagnosis/meds thing is taking absolutely forever. I went for blood tests last week, and a sleep test (if you ask I will rant about it, let’s just say it was awful). The GP wants to see me about the blood tests but he won’t prescribe any meds until the sleep test results come back and my app with that specialist isn’t til the 15th. In the meantime I’ve been quite miserable. Not feeling qualified to apply for jobs at the moment, or do much of anything productive has been very challenging. Then last week I stupidly decided to stop taking my Vitamin B supplement, for some reason I still haven’t really figured out. I guess I thought they weren’t doing anything for me? All I know is that the last few days have been hell. Well gee maybe that’s because the one vitamin proven to help with three of my health concerns was no longer in my diet! (thyroid/adhd/depression) . GUH!! I feel so silly now. Sure, circumstances and other things must have added to my predicament, but I am positive it could have been a much better week for me if I’d been more responsible with my self care SMH

Lala

Hope you can get answers and start feeling better soon.

TeaBrat

have you ever tried Sam-e?

Indigobloom

Thanks Lala :)

TeaBrat, I hadn’t heard of it before, will definitely check that out. Thanks for the tip!!

Oh my I think this is my new fave Darj!! It has a very distinct Darjeeling taste to it, but with a slight oolong background. Not very floral or fruity, it has a rather strong basic astringency.
Very good. Not sure how it will resteep though, and its already too late so I won’t get to find out til next time. Ah well! Must try again to write an truly detailed note!
