although letting this tea cool down for 45min helps, letting it steep for 2min is entirely too much for me; although a much nicer black tea base than what I first tasted (half of a box ago?), it still lacks the citrus-bergamot-fresh thing

I let my tea cool down (forgot about it) and now the bergamot is definitely there!
I think it’s the first time I’m actually able to taste it, but such is life
now, this tea is much more enjoyable :D

I’ve found that cutting the steep time by half helps with the acidity! yay!!

still feels like pure black tea, which is not necessarily bad, but not what I got it for

would only recommend IF the buyer/drinker knows that this is not citrus-y in the slightest

this feels like black tea, the bergamot is VERY faint; which is a shame, because I prefer earl grey over most black teas BECAUSE it has the bergamot to lessen the typical bitterness

This is awful and I don’t know why. How do you mess up lemon and ginger? But there’s something so chemical going on with it that it gave me a headache.

Flavors: Chemical, Lemon

That sounds rough!

@ashmanra Yes, definitely! And normally their teas have a pretty good reputation? Really don’t know what happened here.

Nice fruity tea that packs a tropical punch. Clean tasting with a natural fruity flavor. Very mango forward with a note of lychee in the background that hangs around in the finish. Surprisingly good for a bagged tea. Recommend this for when you want something dessert like or sweet.

drank Cardamon Tea by Ahmad Tea

I used the loose leaf tea. Ahmad is a favorite amongst some friends so I wanted to try some of their tea. When I saw the Cardamom Tea, it was my must-have choice. Based on the back-of-the-box instructions, I steeped at the median of their suggested time—or six minutes. I figured I could adjust up or down from there. Six minutes was perfect. Great cardamom taste and a lovely and smooth black tea in the background. With my unexpectedly huge tin—I didn’t pay attention and ended up with 500g of the stuff, I’m pretty set for quite a while.

I was at World Market today and I had to buy this tea because of the cute tin! I have tried the Earl Grey tea bags from Ahmad and really liked it. First time I have bought loose leaf tea from them. I am enjoying it as a latte with vanilla honey and it’s really good. My favorite Earl Grey teas are still from Stash and Harney and Sons but this one is really good. Has a light floral flavor which is interesting because it has no flowers in it. I would buy this tea again. They have three other loose leaf teas I want to try too.

Spotted this at the Middle Eastern grocery store and thought it would make a nice base for decaf earl grey lattes. I love earl grey tea but don’t have it that often as I really only crave it – and black tea in general – in the evening when I’m trying to avoid caffeine.

Teabag smelled like Lipton. A wee bit of bergamot peeks through while steeping but the aroma is nothing close to that of loose leaf earl grey. Steeped for 5 minutes using boiling water. The tea concentrate was tannic and artificial tasting. Adding milk and sugar did improve things. However the flavor pales in comparison to the Adiago Earl grey I’ve been using for lattes lately. May need to double up on the teabags next time or use less milk.

Dark brown colour, very strong citrusy aroma (natural).
And really nice, refreshing, solid taste without even a hint of artificial flavourings. Decent cold brew.

In keeping with my general avoidance of straight black teas, I have several bags of this from an earlier sipsby box that I have ignored for a couple months. I can’t say I was excited to see it in the advent, but I made it up anyway – it’s time to try it.

It’s a decent smooth black tea, without too much acidity or bitterness overall, though I’d still prefer it with honey or iced. I wouldn’t mind having this on hand for an iced tea pitcher or for my partner (who is 90% of the reason I even keep straight black tea in the house), but it wouldn’t be my go-to.

This is my first time trying this tea. My first sips, hot and unsweetened, have a lightness, and a bit of astringency, not much apple, though it’s there in the background. Pleasant, but unremarkable.
Having added a teaspoon of sugar to the cup, the apple is now pronounced! The sweetness heightens the fruitiness, brings it to the forefront. I had bought this box of tea because apples are everywhere, it being harvest time in autumn. But for now, drinking this hot, it seems like more of a springtime, light refreshing tea.
I shall have to try it iced, to see what my response will be then. For now, it is a pleasant, enjoyable light tea, only mildly apple flavored—until it’s sweetened, and then one really tastes the apple. A nice choice for an afternoon pick-me-up. Just not a cup for something more bracing; look elsewhere for autumn!
