This is a tea that benefits from being a little cooler so the flavors pop a bit more. But with a little sugar, I think this is a yummy dessert tea. Yes, it gives me a bit of a funky aftertaste, but I think that’s countered by the fact that it has sprinkles. Sprinkles, people.
Which is good because sprinkles make me happy and it is supposed to snow again today which makes me very sad. So I must focus on the sprinkles.
Preparation
Yet another tea I had forgotten I had. Actually, thought I was out of it. Nope, I’m not! I have almost half a tin left. Yay!
Because it has been a while since I’ve had it and it is possible my tastes have changed some since the last time I had it (in July), I’m going to treat this like a new tea.
First off, the sprinkles are fun. I’m easily distracted by shiny and sprinkles are close enough to bring me great joy. As it is brewing, I get a big time vanilla icing smell. Mmm. Icing. Normally I’d add a sugar and a splash of milk to my flavored/dessert teas (seems to me to help the flavors show up and be, you know, dessert-y) but I am milk-less today. Boo.
Mmm, this is good though. Sweet (yay sprinkles!) and tastes pretty similar to how it smells. It’s not exactly a well developed tea or anything. No peppery notes or sweet hay tail or hints of raisins. It’s a vanilla cupcake tea. Correction: it’s a GOOD vanilla cupcake tea. But dessert teas have their place in my pantry and I think this is probably in my top 5.
Preparation
Now I want cupcakes. I haven’t had a cupcake in a while and oh, but there are a lot of cupcake places around here. Might be time to make a cupcake crawl…
As I’m reading this, I am so hoping that the dining hall has cake today. Caaaakkeee. Caaaake. (Zombie wail)
I really like the idea of sprinkles in a tea, sound so perky!
And that’s the end of that. My last pot, served with sugar and a splash of French vanilla cream. Topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Does anyone know if Adagio’s tea tins are dishwasher safe?
Preparation
I guess it’s kinda odd to review a tea I made, but I’m going to anyway. :) It’s a blend of three green teas and tastes very fresh and clean with a hint of Froot Loops. To get a perfect cup, I brew two teaspoons per cup at 180 degrees. This tea was featured and reviewed on Adagio TeaV on March 23rd, ’09.
yay for sprinkles! you can send some of that snow our way…we only got about 1/2" for the whole year. That’s BIG for TN. haha!
Sprinkles in tea, lol! That is funny!
@Lena I’m pretty content without the snow. It’s cold enough here for my morning run these days. I think this is the coldest winter I remember in TN. On the other hand, apparently we’ve managed the near-impossible and killed all mosquitoes and ants.
We are 20° below our norm for the month and some places had 4 to 7" of snow Christmas eve! Someone, please, take our snow!
Nice review that sounds good. I’ts cold here to.
We actually had Fargo beat for snow coverage for a while here, until they got dumped with a couple of feet not too long ago. I can’t remember seeing this much for a while [I’d say we got about 14-16 inches], but a lot of it’s melted now. Send your snow to Fargo – they have so much I doubt they’d notice a few more inches!
