Sooo yummy! This is even better than Teas Etc.‘s famous Coconut Custard. It’s much more creamier and milkier tasting. A very rich and creamy coconut, this is.
This is so great. I’m really enjoying this. I’m on my second mug after practically inhaling the first one!
And another great thing is that the flavor is yummy even with using the non-boiling. hot spigot water at work! Total thumbs up.
Preparation
For some reason this brought back my childhood. More specifically of scented My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake vinyl toys (minus the vinyl). Hint of earthy, naturally pretty sweet. Not awful, initially pleasant – just not my thing. Odd, I’m finding I’m quite particular about fruit flavors in tea. Experimented with some kids in my family and they loved it – they tore through half of the bag in a week. I’ll likely be getting it again for them. Myself, more partial to the Zabagliones. :)
I don’t know if you’ve ever made those weird orange things where you stick whole cloves all over it into the peel. If you have, then you can imagine exactly what this tea smells like. It brought me back to the third grade.
It is a spicy scent, but fortunately, I’m not picking up on an overkill of spices in the taste, which often loses the tea. I can still taste the sencha, which is nice, because for once I didn’t oversteep it. I went with 175/2 min and it came out as a really nice cup of tea. I have to say that I put off trying this one for a couple of days, not being a spiced tea lover, but it surprised me. It’s not fruity in the tropical fruit way that I normally love. It is a homey, down-to-earth flavor. It’s interesting that the ingredients say cinnamon, but I’m tasting clove. The apple isn’t a fresh taste, rather more of a deep, baked taste. It comes together well.
Preparation
It seems most people don’t like Ginger Ale unless in a mixed drink or when they are sick…and if they drink when they are sick – it seems it’s better when it’s going a little flat, eh!?
Well…being born and raised in and around Buffalo we were a hop-skip from Ontario Canada and I drank quite a bit of Canadian Dry by choice whether or not I was sick. I enjoyed it. And YES it seemed to go a little flat a little quicker than other carbonated beverages but it was ok because it was still good! I still consumed!
This flavored white reminds me of that Good Ole Canadian Dry going a little flat. And that’s what I like about it!
Brings back memories, Frank, thanks, yet again!!!!
I actually love flat ginger ale POP! lol :) and now that I think about it, I drink it all the time when I visit my grandparents in Brockport, NY…
@Stampinlynn – Soooooo glad you finally signed up at Steepster – now get loggin’!!!!
@Uniquity – I think so! :) Woooot!
Canada Dry rocks. They’re now using real ginger, too, making the pop a bit cloudier but also even yummier.
Ahem … back to tea … I’d love to try this one.
This smells quite wonderful. It has a strong cinnamon-y, ginger-y scent to it with a hint of sweet potato/yam in the background.
And it’s really yummy! I can taste a hint of buttery pastry flavor along with a sweet potato/yam taste. The spices are warm but not overwhelming and give this tisane some dimension. I like this a lot.
This is so amazing iced. I will have to buy a 2 oz of this soon. I could pick up all ingredients in this tea. I LOVE strawberry + honeybush. They are made for each other, complete soul mates. If Strawberry Shortcake had a tea, she would drink this.
It has a nice sweetness to it , and I LOVE the crust/dough I am getting. Mmm, and vanilla? Perfect!
Preparation
Backlogging and a SIPDOWN…I will miss this one!
This one has been on my wish list/sopping list for a while! Thanks to LiberTEAs I was able to try it today! It’s pretty darned tasty, folks! The marmalady-apricot with the creamy cheesecake-likeness…it is certainly one of the better cheesecake blends from 52 Teas and I have like pretty much all of them! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Thank you JoeCool (Nichole) for relinquishing some of this tea for me to try. :)
I haven’t had much luck lately with 52teas and rooibos. Don’t get me wrong, I love the teas Frank creates but red rooibos gives me headaches/migraines. Green seems to be my friend, though, and that trend continues with this delightful tea.
Watermelon is such a light flavor usually but not with this creation! This is much more watermelon than raspberry, although I can smell the raspberry flavor. To me, this is summer in a cup. I think about my Oma’s raspberry patch and her raspberry crisp, plus the watermelon slices she always has in the fridge… this tea makes me smile. DELISH!
Oh, and no headaches either! YAY!
I bought some instant creamer today at the grocery store. I really dislike milk, so I coudln’t wait to see how my chais would taste with the creamer. It was delicious. This was the closest this has tasted to chocolate for me. I say closest, but really, it is still got that bitterness I associate with coffee.
Still I liked the chai with milk and honey, but with the instant creamer and honey, it was fabuous. The creamer did a much better job at smoothing out the excess cardamon. Also, the shortbread made it the best ever.
I’m adjusting my rating just a bit, because I think I like the vanilla chai I have better. I might adjust it back later after I have some of that.
Preparation
So tried a heaping tsp this time, and I think I might have gotten a little more chocolate flavor, but it keeps becoming more coffee like closer to the bottom of the cup I get. I still really like it; it just doesn’t taste the way it smells. I’m going to try two tsp next time, but that might be awhile. I’m starting to miss some of the other teas I have :D.
Preparation
This is the first chai I coudl drink without reaching for milk and honey. However, I’m beginning to think I’m not using enough tea. Some of the other tasting notes talk about using two tsps, and I used 1 tsp for both this and the Chocolate Mint. I’m going to have to try both with 2 tsps.
That aside, this was a very yummy tea. Kind of heavy on the cardamon and ginger, but that didn’t detract from the whole. Still wasn’t really tasting the chocolate, but I am blaming that less on tea and more on the fact I was almost through the cup of tea before realizing I hadn’t put any milk in it.
The taste was so interesting that I just kept sipping. I definitely have to try this with milk and honey, but I could see drinking this without. I might look into more chais once I decide if I enjoy it as much as I find it interesting.
Preparation
Had an enjoyable cup of this on this rainy afternoon. There was a slight sweet fruity sort of a taste, more fruit punch than anything identifiable. The tea wasn’t overly vegetal, but really complemented the melange of fruit.
As I said last time, this might be the right kind of tea to get me into greens. Huzzah!
Finally giving this a go. As we all know by now, every pouch of this is super different, so obviously I am commenting only on my pouch. The dry smell is of tea, but faint. Not much fruitiness, just a sweet mild vegetal tea taste.
Steeped, the liquor is a relatively pale yellow, looks like a mild tea. The steeped smell is reminiscent of the dry – sweet, mild, green tea, but also has fruit notes. All sweet. Exciting. I’m a little apprehensive, but only because I’ve been having a questionable relationship with greens lately.
The beau was in charge of water temp and steep time, but he assures me that he let it cool considerably after boiling. He is actually the one who recommended this tea for our evening tea, strange since he claims to not like greens at all. I think he was just drawn in by the ingredients list (aka: YES).
First sips continue to be mild. I get fruit taste at the end of the sip, much as I do in the smell. No way to tell what fruit I am tasting, but it is slightly reminiscent of very merry berry medley and blueberry cream cheese danish, so maybe a light blueberry flavour? Looking in the pot, the tea leaves are quite large and there are chunks of something or other here and there.
I can’t say anything specific about this tea really. It’s certainly nice, and probably a good way to get me back into my flavoured greens. I’m still getting mild green tea, with little to no vegetal taste and mild fruits. Not blowing me away, but definitely a nice cup to sip absent-mindedly.
Preparation
SIPDOWN! Good thing too, because that Banana Pudding black tea really could not be passed up and I’m trying to hold strong with my “75 teas or less” rule. Although who am I kidding? I’m never going to be too far below 75… :)
This has always lended itself well to a latte and tonight is no exception. The strawberry is still reminiscent of pie filling, and though I’ve lost the pastry flavor over time, this is still pretty flavorful.
I liked this one while I had it, but I’m not sweating the fact it’s not in stock…. Frank has more than enough yummy tea in his inventory to keep my tastebuds occupied!
Preparation
Backlog from last night – I drank this with no additives.
I have lost the pie crust over time, but cinnamon, vanilla, and strawberry are still present and accounted for. Mouthfeel was a little thin, but I’ve probably gotten used to that added creaminess of whole milk so I really can’t blame the tea.
And it’s caffeine free- meaning its one of the few I can have late at night now. I really do need to get some more honeybush teas….
Preparation
I start my new (dream!) job tomorrow! So I can’t have black tea unless I don’t want to sleep tonight, but luckily I have some honeybush that can serve as my dessert instead.
Steeped at below parameters with a splash of milk. This cup is dead on for a slice of warm strawberry pie – with a nice cinnamon accent that pairs well with the pastry. Perfect on such a cold, windy night.
Preparation
This was exactly what I wanted tonight – I’ve been in the mood for something strawberry-y and this was better than any food dessert I could have whipped up.
Made latte style and tonight I’m really getting the graham cracker crust and strawberry notes. Fantastic!
I love that taste of cantaloupe at the “end” by the rind – and the white part of watermelons. :) So I know exactly what taste you mean. Sounds delish!!
That is definitely the cantaloupe flavour of this tea!
wow, I never would have thought of cantaloupe and tea. Depending upon what tea taste you get, I can see it working though…
