My first arrival from 52teas for this flavored black tea loving gal. Yum! The vanilla is complex and completely natural tasting…nothing artificial. And the assam tea is nice and smooth, even to the end. I see why others were begging for this to be in the permanent collection.
Preparation
wow oh wow! This tea is a tea I could see buying a pound of… it is that good. When you first open the bag all you smell is the fresh coconut. Delish! I steeped it for about 6 minutes, I think I may steep a bit longer next time, and after steeping you can smell the honeybush and coconut. When I pour it into a cup it smells just like tanning lotion :) I love that smell! At first sip I don’t get alot of flavor… but I sip again and I taste coconut..it is very smooth. I add a bit of sugar and it brings out the flavors, yummy. I let it cool a bit and I definitely get the tanginess of cheesecake as well as the buttery graham cracker crust. It is soooo good! Thank you so much for making this part of the permanent collection.
Preparation
This one is pretty good, and definitley unique. Tastes like chocolate malt and honeybush together. I can also smell the chocolate, and the honeybush just makes a sweet and happy base. I sweetened mine and added a small amount of milk. This makes an great evening treat.
Preparation
So First things first I just got a ton of tea…. I am so excited but I was not sure which to drink first. I had just finished working out so I wanted something that would be good iced. I decided to try this… when i opened it up holy cow talk about some delicious blueberry pie smell! yummmm!
I steeped it and it kept smelling like blueberries and then I could smell the black tea. I ran the garbage out and came back and the whole living room smelled like blueberries. I doubled the amount so I could pour it over ice and at first I was not overwhelmed with the taste… it seemed just a hint of blueberries so then I added a bit of agave nectar and boom the blueberries popped! I can also taste just a bit of cream or buttery taste not sure which one it is but it is great! This is so good I love the smell and can’t wait to try some more of 52 teas.
Preparation
Another tea that my coworker brought back from NY! I love chai and I LOVE chocolate so, as you can tell i was a bit excited to try this tea.
The aroma is heavenly, the spices and the yummy chocolate smell makes me want to eat it lol This tea is amazing! It has a nice clean flavour. I get a nice taste of cardamon which compliments the chocolate quite nicely. I can’t wait to try it with milk… will update once I’ve tried it that way too!
Preparation
So so happy Frank decided to reblend this. I’ve been sorely missing it and kicking myself for not getting it when he had a stable stock of ManTeas.
Almost exactly like I remembered it. Only the almond is stronger than I remember it. The chocolate still hides behind the heat but it’s there. I still love love the heat and find it hugely comforting. It makes me wish cooler weather would come fast!
If you like a kick to your tea this is the one for you.
Preparation
I was afraid this wouldn’t be spicy enough for me.
Well I shouldn’t have been worried. This is definitely a chai that is not for the meek. The chocolate is more apparent when sniffing the dry leaves then in the final brew but I can still taste it just below the ginger and cayenne.
Mayan Chocolate Chai is my comfort tea when I’m sick. It has magical powers against stuffiness and makes me breath when every over the counter drug has failed.
This stuff is magic. It’ll cure what ails you and perk up your taste buds at the same time.
Preparation
After tonight’s cup, I’m upping my score to 100. This was a lovely addition to my dinner meal. I’m beginning to think that green or white tea will be my tea of choice at dinner from now on. There is just something about the way the cantaloupe starts the sip, then the white tea comes through as you swallow that is just mellow. Very relaxing.
Preparation
I am not exactly sure who I was following that first suggested this, but I am so glad it was in stock when I placed my order. This is delicious. A lot of people in our area farm cantaloupes, so when they are in season, I must eat at least two a week. After my disappointment in the chocolate mint tea I was ambivalent about this one. However, the people at 52teas really hit this nail on the head. I felt like I was drinking summer.
Thanks again to every one who suggested this. I will definitely be trying to keep this in my cupboard.
Preparation
Thanks LiberTEAs!
This wasn’t overly Cantaloupe-smelling but the taste is really great! It’s like the cantaloupe taste right near the rind if you know what I mean! YUM! Juicy and melony!
I love that taste of cantaloupe at the “end” by the rind – and the white part of watermelons. :) So I know exactly what taste you mean. Sounds delish!!
Sooo yummy! This is even better than Teas Etc.‘s famous Coconut Custard. It’s much more creamier and milkier tasting. A very rich and creamy coconut, this is.
This is so great. I’m really enjoying this. I’m on my second mug after practically inhaling the first one!
And another great thing is that the flavor is yummy even with using the non-boiling. hot spigot water at work! Total thumbs up.
Preparation
For some reason this brought back my childhood. More specifically of scented My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake vinyl toys (minus the vinyl). Hint of earthy, naturally pretty sweet. Not awful, initially pleasant – just not my thing. Odd, I’m finding I’m quite particular about fruit flavors in tea. Experimented with some kids in my family and they loved it – they tore through half of the bag in a week. I’ll likely be getting it again for them. Myself, more partial to the Zabagliones. :)
I don’t know if you’ve ever made those weird orange things where you stick whole cloves all over it into the peel. If you have, then you can imagine exactly what this tea smells like. It brought me back to the third grade.
It is a spicy scent, but fortunately, I’m not picking up on an overkill of spices in the taste, which often loses the tea. I can still taste the sencha, which is nice, because for once I didn’t oversteep it. I went with 175/2 min and it came out as a really nice cup of tea. I have to say that I put off trying this one for a couple of days, not being a spiced tea lover, but it surprised me. It’s not fruity in the tropical fruit way that I normally love. It is a homey, down-to-earth flavor. It’s interesting that the ingredients say cinnamon, but I’m tasting clove. The apple isn’t a fresh taste, rather more of a deep, baked taste. It comes together well.
Preparation
It seems most people don’t like Ginger Ale unless in a mixed drink or when they are sick…and if they drink when they are sick – it seems it’s better when it’s going a little flat, eh!?
Well…being born and raised in and around Buffalo we were a hop-skip from Ontario Canada and I drank quite a bit of Canadian Dry by choice whether or not I was sick. I enjoyed it. And YES it seemed to go a little flat a little quicker than other carbonated beverages but it was ok because it was still good! I still consumed!
This flavored white reminds me of that Good Ole Canadian Dry going a little flat. And that’s what I like about it!
Brings back memories, Frank, thanks, yet again!!!!
I actually love flat ginger ale POP! lol :) and now that I think about it, I drink it all the time when I visit my grandparents in Brockport, NY…
@Stampinlynn – Soooooo glad you finally signed up at Steepster – now get loggin’!!!!
@Uniquity – I think so! :) Woooot!
Canada Dry rocks. They’re now using real ginger, too, making the pop a bit cloudier but also even yummier.
Ahem … back to tea … I’d love to try this one.
This smells quite wonderful. It has a strong cinnamon-y, ginger-y scent to it with a hint of sweet potato/yam in the background.
And it’s really yummy! I can taste a hint of buttery pastry flavor along with a sweet potato/yam taste. The spices are warm but not overwhelming and give this tisane some dimension. I like this a lot.
This is so amazing iced. I will have to buy a 2 oz of this soon. I could pick up all ingredients in this tea. I LOVE strawberry + honeybush. They are made for each other, complete soul mates. If Strawberry Shortcake had a tea, she would drink this.
It has a nice sweetness to it , and I LOVE the crust/dough I am getting. Mmm, and vanilla? Perfect!

Backlogging and a SIPDOWN…I will miss this one!
This one has been on my wish list/sopping list for a while! Thanks to LiberTEAs I was able to try it today! It’s pretty darned tasty, folks! The marmalady-apricot with the creamy cheesecake-likeness…it is certainly one of the better cheesecake blends from 52 Teas and I have like pretty much all of them! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
I never meet an Assam I didn’t like :)
