518 Tasting Notes
Since I feel like I can’t drink tea without reviewing it, especially when it’s new to me…..
this is the 2012.
I like it even better than the 2014, which I really enjoyed.
I can’t tell you much about it other than I really like it. I’ve been drinking it all day. And I do mean All Day. I am currently drinking infusion 12…or maybe 13…it could even be 14. I didn’t keep track. All Day Long.
And the tea still has more to give.
I just re-read my previous review of this tea.
Yes, it still reminds me of Up North. So much. This time, I can almost imagine the cherry, but I’m still not sure I’m getting it.
Chocolate, though, I’m getting by the boatload. Deep, dark, rich chocolate. And vanilla. And lusciousness.
YUM!
But I know when I will be Up North next this time. Later this week. And I think I will take some of this tea so I can drink it there. Now that sounds perfect.
It’s interesting to me how different people taste different teas.
The other reviews of this tea say it has no flavor. I agree it is a lighter tea, but I don’t think it has no flavor. I love the flavors coming from this tea. I find it to be somewhat fruity, and then it ends quite sweet.
It doesn’t really do multiple infusions so well. A second infusion is lightly flavored, barely there.
I had never looked at the price of this tea on the website, and I don’t think I would buy it. So I am enjoying what I got in my July box, and the extra I got from the very sweet Marzipan
I don’t believe that any darjeeling was meant to be multiply infused. I tried it once (per the instructions on the Steepster Select envelope, which says that it’s good for 3 re-steeps). To me, it tasted like dishwater…

This is a nice vanilla black tea. The base tea has a good amount of maltiness which goes very well with the vanilla. I have other teas that fall into this category right now in my cupboard so I don’t need it now, but I will keep it in mind for in the future.

I went with the recommended time and temperature from the Tea At Sea website. I wish I hadn’t. I would probably overleaf this and go with a much shorter time if I were to purchase this tea. I think the 5-6 minutes is way too long. Yes, it brings out flavor, but I feel it also brought out a lot more bitterness than I like. Looking beyond the bitterness, there is a nice green flavor to it, sorta grassy, that I like. At 20% off this weekend, I am actually thinking about it, because I can tell there is some good flavor there that I would like if it weren’t so bitter. But I don’t think I will. I’ve got plenty of other teas in my cupboard.
I liked this one! I did a 1 minute and a 2 minute steep and both were good. :D I hope you’re having a good weekend with the box!
I did debate on doing what I thought was a more reasonable steep on this, but I decided to follow their recommendation. Ah well.
They’re recommendations tend to be remarkably bad. I don’t even bother looking at them because it’s always way too much time.

This is a nice, easy drinking black tea. Not too malty, but it’s definitely got some maltiness to it. Not too heavy, but it’s got a nice flavor. Not too much of anything, but a good amount of what it is. I enjoyed it.
I am debating on getting some of this one or not. I’m going to get the Indonesian Oolong and Green for sure. I’ve got other blacks I enjoy. My husband also had a cup of this and said it was nice. (He declined a second infusion, but that doesn’t mean anything.)

This is what this box is about. It was trying teas that I might not have, and finding ones I really like.
This is the second tea from Tea At Sea that I have tried, and I really like it.
It looks like an oolong, but it’s not. It’s a really nice green, vegetal but also creamy-like.
I seem to have come down with a bug that a co-worker had last week. I thought I was safe, but last night I had a little bit of a scratchy throat. I figured it was just my allergies. Then I woke up this morning feeling lousy. All stuffed, throat raw. Of course, we have football tickets and it’s the first game of the season and all that jazz. I go to the game anyway. Now I’m miserable. At least the team won and there weren’t any storms or anything.
Try taking Echinacea 3 times a day. It always helps me when I get a sore throat. It’s pretty cheap too. You just have to make sure it’s a good quality and fresh though.
I love this tea too. One of my favs.

This is a really good tea. I don’t know how I never had this one from Stacy. It’s been added to my wishlist.
I love a good green tea, and this is one I love. I’m so glad it’s in the box to try.
I made myself a big mug of this, and it’s really helping me relax after a horrible week.
Now I’m going to curl up with a book and go to sleep. Well, once the laundry finishes washing so I can put it in the dryer. I need something to wear tomorrow.
