For this tea I used 2 tsp and rinsed it twice. I used about 8 oz of boiling water.
Steep 1: I steeped this cup for 1 minute. mmmm this is better then I expected. First I taste chamomile and peppermint. Then I taste chocolate and maybe cinnamon. In the aftertaste I get a hint of floral. This is so good. Would be nice in the evening. It’s very calming and refreshing.

Steep 2: Steeped for 1 min and 20 sec. The chamomile is a bit weaker this time and the peppermint is stronger. Mmm and the cinnamon is stronger. The chocolate is a bit less noticeable.

Steep 3: Steeped for 1 min 50 sec. Mmmmm oh my cinnamon!! It’s the strongest flavor this time. There is a hint of chamomile in the aftertaste along with the peppermint. The peppermint in the aftertaste is more like that feeling in your mouth after your brush you teeth. Mmmmm OH MY!!! So good! This definitely is my favourite steep so far :) it caught me by surprise how much more the cinnamon came out in this steep!!

Steep 4: Steeped for 2 min 10 sec. Tastes very similar to previous steep except a bit less cinnamon. But I bit more chocolate!

Overall I really like this tea. At first very relaxing with the chamomile then later steeps cozy with the delicious tasting cinnamon and chocolate. :)

I got this as a sample with my last order from Davids Tea and finally decided to try it. The dry smell is very promising. Peppercorns, ginger, cinnamon with a touch of cloves, mmm nice strong spices. At first it tastes like cloves. Then of cinnamon and ginger with a touch of peppercorn in the after taste. This chai is ok. Nothing really special. I was expecting more peppercorn and ginger. Well in general I was expecting more from this tea. The smell was so promising, I am disappointed in the taste. Maybe next time I will steep it for longer. I have enough of my sample for one more cup, hopefully that one turns out a bit better.

I actually dont mind this tea. It tastes mostly citrusy and like ginger to me. In the aftertaste I get a hint of floral. This tea isnt sweet at all, which I actually like. This tea is very different but its growing on me each cup.

This tea is…. different. I dont even know how to begin describing it. Its very woody and leafy. Tastes like sweet wet grass or something. I dont think this tea is for me. I was expecting to like this because I love red rooibos. I have had blends with green rooibos in them and liked it. But straight green rooibos.. nope not for me. :(

I need to get my Verdant order! It’s still not here _ I am unsure of how long I should wait before contacting Canada Post and Verdant to see what’s up with it :(

mrs.stenhouse12

But yes, a tea night will be in order soon :)

charchar

Still! That’s crazy! I would contact them by the middle of next week. Doesn’t hurt to see whats going on.

For this tea I followed the directions that verdant gave with the tea. I used about 1 tsp of loose leaf and boiling water. Dry it smells of a nice chai with a hint of chocolate.

Steep 1: I steeped for 5 seconds and it turned to a nice light colored tea. It almost smells like pumpkin pie to me haha. The chai flavor is nice and light with a hint of ginger.

Steep 2: I steeped for 10 seconds, a bit darker then the previous. The chai and ginger area bit stronger as well with just a hint of vanilla and a touch of chocolately goodness :)

Steep 3: I steeped for 10 seconds again. The chai was a bit lighter but the ginger and the vanilla got stronger. The aftertaste is chocolate.

Steep 4: I steeped for 15 seconds. The chai seems to be a bit stronger then the last steep but the ginger is the same. I get less chocolate in the aftertaste this time. There is a bit of vanilla in the aftertaste as well.

Overall very good, I am a bit disappointed the chocolate wasnt that strong. I could drink this tea all day mmm so good. I need to try a chai by boiling it with milk still

Ze_Teamaker

I notice that the chocolate comes out more when it drunk cold; I actually prefer it iced over warm.

charchar

I didn’t even think to have this tea cold, I’m definitely going to try that next time! That sounds good, thanks for mentioning that :)

Bonnie

best with honey and steeped in milk to me..and longer steep time like a traditional low heat simmered chai.

charchar

I was thinking last night that honey might be good in it. I will have to try it this way as well. I have never had it simmered with milk. Thanks Bonnie :)

It’s a grandma thing, the way my granddaughters like me to fix it when they come over to watch a movie.

charchar

Mmm I beat that would be nice to have while watching a movie! I might try it tonight

The smell of this tea is intoxicating, the lavender and coconut is so relaxing. After being steeped, there appears to be a film of coconut oil. At first the taste is lavender and rooibos. It then turns into coconut for the after taste. The coconut is so nice and strong, and lingers for quite some time. After a while, the coconut after taste turns into vanilla? I find this tea to be satisfying and relaxing.

This tea is good but very touchy. It can become bitter very easily. I don’t have a way to get my water temperature so I have to let it cool and guess. I let the boiled water cool for a 1 min and 30 sec in the cup then I steep. Perhaps next time I will let it cool 2 mins.

This cup actually turned out decent. Nice white tea with a touch of blueberries. The after taste is still a bit bitter but not as bad as some other cups. I will get a hang of this tea and get it just right!

I’d try steeping for only 2 or 3 mins too, that might help out for bitterness :)

charchar

Ok I will do that next time! I love the flavour but the stupid bitterness always ruins it. I am determined to get this tea to taste just right haha

mrs.stenhouse12

I hope it ends up turning out, maybe cool the water for 2 mins as well to be safe, it’s such a yummy tea when it’s not bitter :)

charchar

Ok I shall give that a try :)

tigress_al

This tea works well as a cold brew. It doesn’t get as bitter. Just put the regular amount of leaves in the same amount of water and put in the fridge for 6-9 hours!

charchar

mmm that sounds good! i will have to try that too, thanks! :)

Mmmm this is one of my favourite teas! It’s so relaxing and makes me nice and sleepy. Steeped it smells tonight of lemongrass, mint and a bit of rose hips, each cup varies so much. Tastes amazing! First tastes of lemongrass and rose hips, then peppermint and chamomile. Aaahh already feeling sleepy.

Mmmm this is a great dessert tea. Tastes exactly like peaches and cream! This is one of my favourite rooibos teas. It’s a bit sweet for me, perhaps next time I will use a bit less. I definitely need to try this one iced next time!

Bleh, I wish it tasted like peaches & cream to me….

charchar

Maybe yours didn’t have enough papaya, mango, and apple? That’s too bad yours didn’t turn out :(

Kittenna

Perhaps. I really didn’t much like it the last time I had it! I have a bit more; I should see how it tastes now.

charchar

I hope the last bit turns out! Maybe it’s just not for you

This is good! Smells very healthy, like hay with a hint of floral. This tea is definitely crisp. It tastes of cloves and floral but I find the after taste to be buttery. It kind of does taste like white cake haha I think it would taste like it more with some honey. I really like this :)
