drank Melon Drop by DAVIDsTEA

I drank this as a hot tea and it was pretty interesting. Definitely could not drink large quantities in a row, though – it’s a great honeydew/kiwi taste but after 2 cups I felt a little sick. Could be the artificial flavouring.

drank Orange Blossom by DAVIDsTEA

Man, I don’t know what it is with some of David’s fruity teas and their artificial flavours but they remind me of bubblegum somehow. I just can’t get over it – I expected a deeper orange flavour. This one was great until the underlying artificial taste hit and then I disliked it. Which is a bummer, because I really wanted to like it.

Mmmm. Chocolatey and cinnamony. Great smell, drank it black and it was still pretty rich. I’m almost afraid to try it with milk because I’m worried that’s the only way I’d drink it from now on, and if I drink it black this would be a great low-calorie contender for a dessert tea at work to distract me from the brownies on the craft table!

drank Green and Fruity by DAVIDsTEA

I think I have overdosed on peach tea and now I can’t stand peachy flavouring in my tea. Darnit. I was a little hesitant about the mango in this blend as well. Very happy I only bought a cup and not a bag. If this was “green & citrusy” instead, I’d probably like it a lot more.

Flavors: Mango, Peach, Tropical

drank Cherry Blossom by DAVIDsTEA

I bought 10g of this without realising it had coconut in it – luckily the coconut chips don’t give me acid reflux! Hooray! And it’s low caffeine, and I need more low caffeine teas in my life.

I’d like this tea a lot more if it didn’t weirdly remind me of bubble gum. Smells HEAVENLY, the taste is almost excellent, but there’s a flavour underneath the other flavours that is exactly like bubblegum. Maybe the artificial cherry flavour is reminding me of a cherry bubble gum I had at some point. It’s kiiiiind of growing on me though. I reach for this tea more than I thought I would after the initial steep… I actually might buy another bag!

I swear they are obsessive about coconut at David’s it’s in so many of there teas.

The first thing I say when I talk to their tea guides is that I’m allergic to coconut! And I usually stay away from teas with almonds or walnuts, etc. in them because I’m allergic to peanuts.

I really like this blend – taste, smell, the lovely pink colour (in some steeps)… I still dislike that herbal teas don’t resteep well :(. After one cup I feel the tension in my body melt away a little bit. Even if it’s not the valerian root and is just a placebo, it works and that is awesome. Waaay more expensive than my Herbaria lemon balm bags but it will be nice to have once in a while to mix it up.

drank Detox by DAVIDsTEA

Smell is gross and medicinal. I’ve steeped this a few times and a weird impending sense of doom comes over me like, “blech, now I am going to have to drink that”. At first, I thought I liked the juniper. Boy, was I wrong. I’m giving this tea another shot because the taste is slightly better than the aroma but it is one of my least favourite teas from David’s. I actually don’t think I can finish this cup.

And for the record, I do not believe that “detox” teas can help with weight loss or health in the way they’re advertised.

I’m not a fan of green tea unless it’s got citrus notes, which this tea has in spades!! The smell is heavenly if you like earl grey. The second I sipped it, I feel like my pupils turned into little hearts because I loved it so much – the flavour profile is absolutely perfect. Zesty and comforting at once. It might just be that it was the first caffeine I’d had all day at 3 pm, but there was way more of a caffeine kick than I usually get with green teas. Will definitely have to buy more!

reviewed Tea Infuser Mug by Aladdin

I’ve only had this mug for a short time but I am in love. I would never take tea anywhere before because, like most people, I hate oversteeped tea, and couldn’t find an infuser that worked like I wanted it to – this one definitely fits the bill! I am a bit of a wuss when it comes to hot tea, and this mug keeps tea the perfect temperature for me – not scalding like some metal travel mugs, but not too cold, either. Hopefully the plastic will be able to stand wear and tear because I plan on using this all the time once I go back to work. :)

drank Vanilla Bean Chai by Tetley

I liked this better than Tetley’s chocolate chai – I used to drink this with milk and sugar and it was pretty good, but then I started drinking teas black, and this tea does not stand up on its’ own. It might just be that I’m not really a chai person but I would never buy this again.
