Cookie. Oh, Cookie. Galleta. Petit gâteau.

She’s back in my arms once again. Yes, I did place an order soon after trying the sample included in my Happy Bag order, because well — I had to have her in my collection. She’s so sweet, so perfect, so delicious. Her smell is so divine, her taste is magnificent. I cannot believe I went so long without knowing her, and now that I do, I cannot be separated from her again.

I brewed Cookie the same way I did the last time: roughly a three minute steep, added some room temperature milk for added deliciousness. I made it in my Wonder Woman mug, because I always like to feel inspired when I’m enjoying greatness. I cannot wait until Lupicia does a restock for the loose leaf. I’ll keep the tea bags in my purchase and the fifty grams in my kitchen (bedroom; I don’t like ppl [family] stealing my tea).

I am absolutely DYING to try this blend. It sounds divine!

Crystal O.

It is, I admit! I brewed it today again — no logging because I didn’t want to make it seem like it is all I drink now — and I will never get tired of it. You must try it when you can.

Yvonne

Oh I will! I’ll get my hands on it one day. :) I’ve heard so much about it.

drank Grapefruit Green by Lupicia

I’m having the best date with The Carrie Diaries and Lupicia teas, so I had to have a second helping of Grapefruit Green. It’s still fragrant, it’s still delicious, and I am so in love. I’m gonna try all the Lupicias! ♡♡♡

Y’know — I have never had a Jasmine tea until today. I needed something soothing, I suppose, so I reached for this in my continued to be disorganized mess of a Lupicia order, and I liked this. It was super relaxing, calming, and that’s what I super need sometimes. Words aren’t coming out greatly today. I just want to say this is a positive drink. I would totally restock this once I finish the other nine tea bags.

God, I love Lupicia.

I only have two followers, but I feel like I should apologize for the lack of logs I’ve done in the past couple days. I’ve been in a hazy cloud for the past couple weeks, and I suppose it has reached its climax in the last couple days. All I’ve been wanting to do is sleep.

But I got halfway through my rewatch of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford when I realized I hadn’t had much to drink today, so I washed the infuser mug I bought from Teavana and brewed some tea!

This time I chose Strawberry from the local shop five minutes from my house. It’s a fruity black tea — I love my fruity blacks — that never fails in a pinch. I super love the aroma, but sadly it doesn’t linger that much after brewed. Or maybe I just oversteeped it this round, because I got distracted by Casey Affleck.

Here’s what happened: —

I had the first issue of Black Widow in my hand. I flipped through the pages, settled down in my bed, then thought, “I need a good tea to drink,” and like. My hands? They must have a mind of their own, because suddenly I am holding a Strawberry & Vanilla tea bag, and I guess my feet saw no problem with that since I am walking over towards the kitchen to boil a cup of water. So, of course, I wasn’t gonna argue with that; I clearly had the right idea.

This time, however, I did prepare this with two ounces of whole milk, and it made the tea so much more creamier. Sort of reminded me of frozen custard while I was drinking and flipping through my comic. I just love this tea so much. I foresee a terrible, horrible, wonderful problem.

I woke up very terribly late with a headache this morning, and I have to get ready for work soon. One hand, it is nice living a lifestyle where I don’t have to be anywhere until three in the afternoon. Other hand, I need to stop avoiding medication; I would’ve been over this headache if I took an ibuprofen or two as soon as I realized I was in pain.

That said, after I ate lunch, I decided I should probably get something to drink — I don’t drink and eat at the same time; is that strange? — so I blind-grabbed out of my Lupicia order (since I still haven’t reorganized my tea shelf in the bedroom) and haha it was Strawberry & Vanilla!

And, all right — THIS TEA SMELLS AMAZING??? It reminds me of strawberry milk almost, very sweet and filled with a certain depth and the aroma just lingers so well after I steeped it. I kept my noise buried in my mug, because I didn’t want to stop smelling the scent. Happily the tea tasted as well as it smelled. There was a noticeable lack of bitterness, which was great. I had steeped it for a minute longer than recommended. (I do need to stop doing that tho.) I felt the strawberry and vanilla was very much present, but still subtle enough that it didn’t taste fake. (Lupicia, to my knowledge, doesn’t use artificial flavoring, but do you all know what I am talking about? That all too present taste of something that makes it FEEL fake even when it isn’t? idk.)

To be honest, I cannot believe I only just recently started drinking green tea; I’ve been missing out! Next time, I am definitely gonna try this with milk.

I know exactly what you mean about the not-fake-but-still-feels-fake, AND about how natural-tasting Lupicia teas are. I honestly think I wrote pretty much the same thing in my review for this one.

I wasn’t that much into flavoured green tea before Lupicia, but now it’s what I prefer.

Oh, and I have a few friends who don’t drink and eat at the same time, and I find all of you super weird, because I can down three full pitchers of water during lunch, easily. (Obviously I’m even weirder.)

drank Té de Frutas by Lupicia
30 tasting notes

lol ok

After I angrily tossed my last cup down the drain, I had to redeem the night by trying another new (to me) tea. I chose Té de Frutas! I’ve never had a decaffeinated tea before. I don’t know why truthfully since even the slightest bit of caffeine heightens my anxiety and elevates my heart rate in a not-so-cute manner(, but will that ever stop me from drinking vanilla lattes etc, nah), so when I received this in my 福袋, I admit I was sort of wary.

lol yeah. My fears were proven wrong, and I am now wondering when I will meet a Lupicia tea I’ll actually dislike? It’s a black tea with nice fruity undertones. I’ve never had a lychee berry before, so I am not sure what taste I am looking for, but the peaches and strawberries come out well. This should probably be my new nighttime tea, ah.

drank Spiced Apple Cider by Teavana

Oh no, oh no,

oh no!

Today I learnt an important lesson: — check reviews before purchasing a tea that is seventy-five percent off at Teavana. This does that mean sale teas are inherently terrible, but this does not mean sale teas are inherently good. It is always worth asking for second opinion from non-employees.

Today makes the first time I have ever not finished a cup of tea and now I have little over two ounces of Spiced Apple Cider to figure out what to do with. I’m not happy.

Teavana are evil.

yyz

Put it up on the cswap list or take it away list, someone may want it you never know.

yyz

What made you hate it?

Crystal O.

It had a very bitter and unpleasurable taste? I don’t know how to describe it. I just had bad reaction when I started drinking it. :(

Crystal O.

Also thank you for the advice!

yyz

You welcome! It’s too bad that they don’t allow you to purchase smaller sizes. I’m always hesitant about teavana because at least near me the samples are so sweet they actually make me feel ill. Try to swap it if you can at least then you may be able to sample one or two teas you might like.

Abby Noelle

That’s interesting, Sammie made this for me before and it turned out great, thought she works there, therefore, she scoops it up on the tea. Lol

Crystal O.

I’m gonna try it again then, but would you want my remaining tea afterwards?

I wanted to try another tea before sleeping, so I asked my sister to pick between Grapefruit Green and Strawberry & Vanilla. She said, “Grapefruit Green, because Strawberry Vanilla sounds nasty.” I hope to prove her wrong later.

Anyway, I’ve noticed a lot of Lupicia teas suggest brewing their teas with boiling water and a low steep time. I haven’t tasted a bitter tea yet, so I suppose they are not wrong on that, but I think I’m gonna reverse it (lower temperatures, longer steeping) to see what happens.

When I opened the bag, I was caught off guard by the aroma. Lupicia makes very beautiful spelling teas. Like, I am amazed by how fragrant they are. You could really tell this was a green tea that was highlighted with some serious grapefruit notes. Upon tasting, I noticed however this was a surprisingly mellow tea. There was no horrid aftertaste—well, there shouldn’t be no matter what—and it was simply soothing? I’m not sure if that’s the right word for it, but I liked it. I could taste the grapefruit chilling in there; it wasn’t overwhelming, but it wasn’t subtle.

Lupicia is quickly becoming one of my favorite tea merchants.

I’m still debating on purchasing the Happy bags…$30 or $60…lol

Crystal O.

I honestly wish I got the sixty dollar one, but I am super happy with my thirty, and I have enough tea to last through spring, probs.

Anna

I look forward to your Lupicia reviews – I love this company so much.

Crystal O.

They’re so wonderful. I am still so happy about this discovery.

k Lupicia sent a tea bag of this out when I purchased my Happy Bag — and I am now considering putting an another order just for I can get a tin of this. Cookie is super delicious, so smooth, smells like freshly baked carmel cookies. I mean, obvs slash “I would hope” regarding the last one, but I had high hopes for this tea, and it totally delivered. I never thought that would happen. I am upset!

I took this with milk, too. I often (read: “always”) take my tea straight, so it was strange to switch it up from my usual habits, and Lupicia was right. It pairs super well with milk.

HAVING TO PURCHASE THE TEA BAG OPTION BC THE FIFTY GRAM TIN SELECTION WAS SOLD OUT ONLINE IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT BUMMER OF 2014 SO FAR btw. Best tea, my tea. God bless Lupicia.

…also known as the only tea I’ve ever rated 100. I LOVE IT.
