drank Ripe Mango Oolong by Lupicia
3238 tasting notes

A sample sachet was included in the most recent Lupicia order and since I am trying to clear the cupboard, this was an easy target. I didn’t know it was going to make me immediately want to place another Lupicia order. Oof.

Breakfast on a way too hot June morning. English muffin and this tea.

First steep smells heavenly, with powerful mango aroma but even as powerful as it is, I smell the oolong. How can I smell the oolong so well with this mango dialed up to volume ten? I make a second steep immediately in my Kamjove and combine the two. This is so so fruity and delicious and yes, the mango is wild and forward but the oolong is so distinctly there. I must have a third steep, even though I don’t expect it to go well, even though I never do three with Lupicia flavored tea.

And…the mango is much lighter but the oolong base still is strong enough to enjoy. Its a good third steep and well worth it. I was drinking it hot and now I absolutely must taste it cold. It is already a hot sticky summer and it has just begun, so bring on the ice cold tea in glasses beaded with condensation.

Well, great, here we go again.

Oh my… A lot of them are seasonal so they won’t be available now, but from their permanent lineup I love Melon Oolong, Momo Vert, Tsugaru Green, Grapefruit Green, Sakurambo, Caramel & Rum, Earl Grey Grand Classic, Alphonso Mango, Fraisier, and Matcha Soybean Rice Tea. Oh and Framboise Chocolate is nice too. Sorry, there are too many heh! I love Momijigari, but it’s only available in the fall…

I’m a big fan of Kotobuki!

Okay, I have Melon Oolong, Momo Vert, Fraisier, and Matcha Black Soybean Rice Tea. I have had Tsugaru before, that was a good one, i have Yume and Merci Milles Fois right now. Caramel and Rum and Framboise Chocolate sound good! I will look up Kotobuki!

Cameron B: I don’t like rooibos but I had a Lupicia rooibos that was beautifully flavored and you didn’t taste the rooibos at all. Can you taste it in the Caramel and Rum?

Bio

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fourteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.

My avatar is a mole in a teacup! Long story…
