I am attempting to complete the scavenger hunt for March in order, so today I am doing the third prompt in the list – drink a French tea.

I absolutely adore the aroma of this tea. It captivates me. I am not a huge Earl Gray fan but on the right base, I like bergamot fine. There are several teas with bergamot and additional flavors that I find much more charming. This tea has got to be at the top of the list for those.

This tea actually reminds me a bit of Parker’s Blend from Cuppageek. I still have a bit of this left, but when I run out I think there will have to be a TheOdor order placed.

I really like this tea and Nostalgia by the same company, especially for breakfast. This one is my floral tea for the scavenger hunt, but it is far from a sipdown. These are big bags!

The rose flavor is rich, and sometimes tastes like peppery rose. It reminds me of the scent of Fresh Cut Roses from Yankee Candle. The black tea base is pretty smooth and doesn’t make me reach for milk or sugar, but after drinking a couple of cups it does have an enjoyable briskness, which is why it goes so well with breakfast.

drank Spiced Fall Evenings by Cuppa Geek

I am using this as my “no longer available” tea for the March scavenger hunt. I am really happy with how many teas I got squeezed into the bit of February after I found the list even though I didn’t finish it, but I think I can ace this month’s hunt in a week. This tea alone could fulfill three prompts, but I will just use it for one.

SAD! I have opened my last pouch. This was one of my favorite teas to drink late in the evening, and especially sitting in the rockers on the almost-warm nights.

The spices are perfect and so nicely balanced. It is easy to forget that this is caffeine free, and I love that about it. So many evening options lack flavor, but you can not say that about this tea.

Served with pound cake and chocolate covered strawberries that I made as a surprise for Ashman.

I hope this will appear as “again available” tea soon!

That would be lovely, Martin!

drank White Cherry by Gurman's

My cherry tea for the scavenger hunt! I do not expect to finish the list as I don’t even own a grapefruit tea right now, but I am happy with how many I have managed to do.

This tea is five or six years old now, and I was afraid the coconut chips would be rancid, but they seem to be okay. I chilled this for unsweetened ice tea and it is really good. The cherry flavor is still strong. I will focus on finishing this one so I can hopefully report another sipdown soon and that will be easy enough since I am really enjoying it iced and that tends to get guzzled down faster.

drank White Christmas by Lupicia

It’s a sipdown! But I see I never added it to my cupboard so I don’t get the pleasure of seeing it removed.

I am using this as my fairy tale tea for the scavenger hunt because I don’t have a fairy tale tea and a White Christmas where I live only exists in such. About 26 years we had ice that made everything look white. Does that count?

I went back and forth on this one. Did I like it or not? It does accomplish what it set out to do. It tastes like a nutty not-too-sweet baked pastry. I don’t get tons of white chocolate but maybe with milk and sugar one would. I certainly don’t hate this tea, or even dislike this tea,
but I don’t think it is a re-order for me. It was a nice change of pace from other teas, and I bet it would make an awesome latte, hot or cold.

drank Frosted Cranberry by Cuppa Geek
3236 tasting notes

I am counting this as my favorite muffin flavor tea for the scavenger hunt, because I don’t really like muffins but I do like scones, and my favorite one was a cranberry white chocolate one we have made a few times.

And…it is also a sipdown. Went very well with our blueberry waffles. Not sharp or tart. Today the black base seemed a little lighter and the cranberry is always berryish to me. Very nice, and while I am sad to see my Cuppageek Teas go, I am determined to drink them before they lose their luster so I can really enjoy them.

drank Green Earl Grey by Fortnum & Mason

Fortnum Advent sipdown 24/24

This was a decent Green Earl Grey. We usually drank it with food. Not soapy, decent green base.

This morning was foggy and chilly so when three sisters arrived for lessons, I asked the eldest if she would like to make a pot of tea for them to share. (I always set out a cookie plate for them because the girls all have to wait for each other at the dining table throughout the lessons. They bring books, art supplies, and tablets to entertain themselves while they wait.)

They seemed to like it, and when I offered to send the remaining three teaspoons home with them for their other sisters to try they gladly accepted. Thus ends the 2021 Fortnum advent calendar! It was fun! And now it is time to move on to other things!

derk

Yay, you did it!

gmathis

Few things feel better than crossing off the last item of a list!

ashmanra

Now to get it packed away and up to the attic!

Cameron B.

Yay, good job! I’m still working on mine six months later! XD

ashmanra

I believe in you! It will be gone by Christmas 2023! (Maybe 2022 if you try really hard!)

drank Smoky Earl Grey by Fortnum & Mason

Fortnum Advent sipdown 23/24

One of my favorites from the advent, and now it is gone! Finished it at breakfast this morning, but determined to try mixing some Russian Caravan I have on hand with some plain Earl Grey to see if I can replicate.

Not too terribly smoky and the bergamot was not heavy or perfumey. It made a nice breakfast tea.

This was a sipdown, and was actually in my cupboard so I got to remove! I have way too many teas that just never got listed…

There used to be a deli nearby that sold caramel apples that were out of this world. The apples were HUGE and they had many varieties, my favorite being the Turtle Apple, covered in caramel, then chocolate, then rolled in chopped pecans, and drizzled with more chocolate. A single apple would feed four. Well, in theory they did but who listens to serving size advice for something as good as this?

This tea is caramel and apple, and I forgive it for having clove. Ha ha! It was delish with a bit of caramel Milka bar and some fresh pecans for my snack between students.

Not even listed in my cupboard? This is one of my older teas and it was a sipdown today. (Yay! But also, boooo, because we really like it.) This will serve as my “tea gifted to you” because I am pretty sure Superanna gave me this for Christmas one year. Probably 1/4 of my tea is a gift from Superanna!

This is lovely at breakfast, and as much as I like Tung Ting from Tin Roof Teas, this one might nudge ahead. It is a little less roasty toasty but has cocoa in the aroma. I have had some DHP that smells like a cup of hot chocolate, and while this one doesn’t go that far, it definitely send little teasers of chocolate scent up while steeping.

A mineral, rocky tingle excites the tongue and makes this tea feel so multi-layered even though the body is rather thin. It resteeps well.

After the cupboard is under a bit more control, I want to re-order this one or something very similar.

Michelle

I always seem to circle back to Mandala for DHP, but I should give this one a try.

ashmanra

I have had theirs, and it is very good, also!

I am a music teacher, tutor, and former homeschool mom (25 years!) who started drinking loose leaf tea about fourteen years ago! My daughters and I have tea every day, and we are frequently joined by my students or friends for “tea time.” Now my hubby joins us, too. His tastes have evolved from Tetley with milk and sugar to mostly unadorned greens and oolongs.

We have learned so much history, geography, and culture in this journey.
