(Backlog tea from last week)

I picked up an assortment of teas at the original Twinings shop in London and have been trying to review them all before I forget what they tasted like. This was coldbrewed 5 minutes. It made a great cup of iced tea because I really like ginger/lemon combinations. The ginger was spicewy (just the way I like it!) but the green tea kept things balanced. The green base was not high quality, I think it is just a generic bagged green. With the great spices to help cover the green tea flavour, this was an enjoyable blend to drink.

This is a very tasty blend that tastes quite herbal with the citrus, ginger, and echinacea. The cinnamon isn’t as strong as I expected it to be. The hibiscus was barely noticeable

Flavors: Cinnamon, Citrusy, Ginger, Green, Herbaceous, Herbs, Lemon, Lemongrass, Spicy

Do you really get a lot of flavor cold brewing for such a short time? Usually I cold brew for at least 4 hours

Arby

I find 250-500mL of water is best for short brew times. If I wanted to do a jug/larger mug, I’d do longer. I normally just leave the teabag in until I remember it is beside me and drink it. I normally just leave the teabag in while I drink it (except hibiscus blends).

Good to know. This is something I’ll have to keep in mind.

Bio

I am a biochem major hoping for a career in research genetics and evolutionary biology. I love science fiction and spend too much of my time reading comic books. I’m a passionate keeper of spiders, cacti, and exotic plants. I eat a vegan, plant-based diet for moral and environmental reasons (I mention this only because it is relevant to which flavoured teas I drink).

I drink mostly flavoured and low caffeine teas/tisanes, but I will try anything twice. As far as pure teas go, I gravitate towards whites, yellows, and jade oolongs. I’m always open for trades and sample sales/exchanges. Message me any time :)

My cupboard is mostly up to date. For a more comprehensive list, see my stash spreadsheet here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-HjWKR3um-xEnj6HC9vMvKXOAyj_bpW5u_2ixEC20-k/edit?usp=sharing
