433 Tasting Notes
Finally bought some concentrate to keep at home, and I have to say I’m so addicted to this! I mix almost 3/4 chai with maybe 1/2 soy milk and have it chilled with ice. AMAZING. I am dying to try it as an ice cream float with Bhakti Chai Ice Cream sometime in the future too.
I also just bought one of the brand new pre-blended ready to drink cold bottled blends (mixed with soy milk) but haven’t had it yet. I got the “slightly sweetened” kind, which I’ve never had before so I’m anxious to see how it tastes too!
I haven’t been letting myself get chai every Friday because I’m trying to save some money (and calories) lately, but I gave in today. Not surprisingly, the one I got today tastes pretty amazing since it’s been a few weeks since I had one! Happy Friday!
I’ve grown to need my daily chai… or at least my stomach thinks so. I’m really grateful to have a chai I can make at home that’s even better than at a coffee/tea shop (unlike espresso drinks- haven’t gotten the hang of them yet). And it’s even sold where my cousin goes to college so she can bring me some when she comes home on the weekends. :)
To be honest, Bhakti is my chai of choice when it’s available! I finally bought some of the concentrate for home and it’s just as good as when I get it at my favourite restaurants. Super spicy and wonderful—I love it! I can’t “afford” (calorie-wise) to drink it every day but I budget it in here & there.
I’m wearing a BPAL oil today with a coconut note in it, so I was in the mood for something coconutty when I picked out my tea for the day. This is really hitting the spot today, I have to say! Nice and summery, light but caffeinated. Perfect!
Preparation
Can’t shake this really nasty sore throat so I’m still trying to drink soothing teas at work (they’re not really helping!)… I had one lone bag of this that I think was a leftover from a hotel stay or something. Mint isn’t really my thing in tea, unless it’s pretty well-blended with something else and there’s just a hint of it. Needless to say, this blend isn’t for me. Straight up mint in a teabag. The overly smooth mouthfeel kind of gives me the heebie-jeebies for some reason so it’s been an interesting cuppa. Something about it is kind of medicinal, and it smells lovely but otherwise it’s really not something I’m enjoying.
