Tried this tonight, and I’m disappointed. I’m finding a slightly bitter aftertaste and an awful dry mouth feel, which I can’t stand in teas. Yeah, this is definitely not my cup. Ah well.

I should totally not be drinking this, being that it’s late and I probably won’t sleep tonight (the chances of that however, are slim to begin with being that I have a new puppy and am in the throes of potty training) anyways…. Gosh. I love this blend! It is so velvety and rich, with notes of citrus blending in perfectly with vanilla. I steeped this for at least 4 minutes because I got distracted. Amazingly, not a hint of astringency. Delicious. Almost makes up for the lack of sleep I know will be in my near future ;)

This tea is extremely intricate, and I mean that in the best way possible. I’m loving all the layers of flavors that reveal themselves along the way. Vegetal and floral tones pop out the most initially, but there is also a decadent buttery characteristic as well. I also tasted a bit of mango and peach, too. As far as oolongs go, this is fabulous. Each experience is different, so drinking it doesn’t get old in the slightest. I’m excited to see what else I’m going to find in this cup…

Oh my goodness. This is divine! For being full bodied, I’m amazed at how silky this tea is! I love the rich chocolatey and malty tones and aroma. The fact that absolutely zero astringency is present just adds to the exquisiteness . And even though this is a very “elegant” tea, I could actually handle drinking this on a regular basis, which is not true of many of the other black/dessert teas I have tried. Everyone should experience this tea at least once. It’s something I’m going to have a hard time forgetting.

A mild, smooth cup of fresh mint and milk chocolate with vanilla nuances. The flavors all blend together beautifully, to where none is stronger than another. This wouldn’t be my first pick of tea, but I am away from home and staying elsewhere presently and this looked like the best option this morning. It’s a lovely tea overall, just not something I personally LOVE. I’m not sure if I would drink this again or not, however.

Thanks to RogersCK for a sample of this! I love how creamy and lemon-y this tastes. Despite its delicateness, this blend holds it own without any problem whatsoever. I can definitely envision curling up with cup of this and watching snow fall softly outside. Mmmm… yes, winter suddenly sounds much more appealing.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I decided to try this tea, I only knew that it had a very high rating and oolongs are a tea I’ve been wanting to learn and taste more of. From my 1 cup which I have sampled so far, I can tell this tea and I will be getting along just fine. It’s bright, sweet, buttery, and vegetal with soft floral/ fruit notes, complemented by a clean finish. For being on the more “delicate” end of teas, it certainly doesn’t lack in complexity. I’m resteeping the leaves again momentarily to see what other flavors will emerge. Delicious!

This is my first experience drinking matcha. After seeing so many positive reviews of Red Leaf matcha’s, I was finally able to get some in a swap (thank yooooou SO much RogersCK !)

Oh. My goodness. This matcha is nothing short of mind blowing. It tastes so buttery and velvety, an leaves an intoxicatingly creamy feel on the tongue afterwards. I didn’t add milk or sugar, and it tasted like it had cream in it on its own. While this definitely has a richness to it, I love the fact I don’t have an overwhelmingly sickened stomach by the end, like I do with certain heavy black teas. I actually feel quite energized. GAH! I am ordering more of this pronto. New favorite beverage? Oh yeah. If all matcha teas aren’t as good as this, then I am most definitely ruined. Good thing that Red Leaf Tea has so many flavors!

Drinking a few cups of this tonight (thanks to lovelylotus) and am quite content for the moment. I love how this tea is easy to relax into, and just tastes so
warm and cozy. I will however , mention two details which are leaving a bit to be desired with this tea tonight. Firstly, there is an oily sheen to the top of the cup (I’m guessing from the chocolate) I love chocolate in tea, but seriously, not at the expense of feeling like I’m drinking a cup of oily sludge. Ew. (I added cream to my first cup and that helped solve the issue but for people who want to drink this straight, the oily sheen looks terribly unnappetizing. Also, aside from the cinnamon notes, I can’t taste much else. (Maybe I steeped this not long enough??) This is turning out to be kind of a watered down, murky, cinnamon-y drink tonight. Not the worst tea atrocity I’ve encountered, but it is still disappointing. I am feeling cautious about letting this become a permanent tea in my collection. Bummer. I really wanted this to be as good as I had remembered it.

This is one of the several kinds of tea Lovelylotus shipped to me in our tea swap. I steeped the leaves for roughly 4 minutes and they brewed a nice golden cup. This has a fresh, sweet grassy flavor accompanied by mild floral notes and a clean finish. Delicate and non-astrigent, this is an excellent choice in terms of straight white tea. While I prefer my black or green teas mostly, I could see myself trying another cup of this here or there, just to keep things interesting.

I can’t use chopsticks. My favorite smells are lemongrass and fresh coffee. If I were to die of something fatal, it would probably be caffeine poisoning. Reading, photography, traveling, and cooking are just a few activities I enjoy. I am a native of Krasnoyarsk, but grew up in Alaska.

I enjoy most types of teas, but am partial to flavored black and green varieties specifically.
