Absolutely disgusting. I love cardamom, and I have no idea how this could be so bad. It had a sour taste, even a sour smell that couldn’t be resolved with milk, leaf adjustments, or steep adjustments. I finished my three cups of experiments, but I wouldn’t even give this away. Into the trash it goes.

I bought this when I was shopping in downtown Fredericksburg, and I absolutely love it. It really does taste like the woods, but in an appealing way. I love the sprinkles in it even though they don’t really melt, and they have no real connection to leaves, but they are pretty pops of color. I will definitely be getting more.

drank Coconut Cumin Chai by 52teas

I enjoyed this, which is a big surprise because while I love coconut, it tastes a bit too oily for me in tea most of the time. I couldn’t really actively taste cumin, but I feel it was probably for the best. I am sure it added subtle flavor, as it is a very pungent scent/flavor. Overall, I am glad I tried it. Not my favorite version of chai, but I love tasting all versions of chai.

drank Kenyan Earl Grey by JusTea

I enjoyed this, despite being very peculiar about bergamot and levels of bergamot. I put milk in it, as I do all earl greys, and it was light but flavorful.

This is ok, but not my favorite. Even at a low temp, it is a bit bitter but also fruity. Glad to get to try, but won’t be purchasing.

I was super happy to find there was a tea shop in Fredericksburg. While it is not perfect, I am happy to be able to walk around and sniff and peruse. Most of my favorite places online are online only or nowhere nearby. I was good and stuck to blends that are more unique than what I usually see.

I enjoy this – it is definitely appley, but balanced well with a breadiness and cinnamon spice flavor. I feel like there must also be a cream or caramel element, because while it isn’t sweet, it has a bit of burnt sugar taste.

I enjoyed this – I like minty green tea. But I can’t say it was super special so I am passing it along to a friend who is a mint green tea fanatic.

I enjoyed my sample of this. It was super mild, so those who fear jasmine might love this. I personally found it a bit too mild for me. I liked the perfume, but the actual tea itself took a backseat even still. Definitely enjoyable though.

drank Milk Oolong by Mandala Tea

I can see why this is so highly rated. I have considered purchasing it dozens of times, but given how much tea I have already and how much could end up going bad if I am not careful, I have abstained. Being at school from 7am-7pm doesn’t help much, given I do not currently have a method of making tea there even if I had the time. I am seriously considering bringing my cheap electric kettle there for those long days.

Anyway, this is fantastic and I appreciated getting the sample with my Smart Soak very much. It is super creamy and floral, and lasts what feels like infinite steepings.

Now a certified teacher, beginning my first year in third grade this fall. I have been involved in the tea world about 5 years now. In that time, I have learned so much, and am hoping to learn even more by joining the steepster community.

In my non-tea times, I am usually watching netflix while writing lesson plans, cuddling my two kitties, or trying to find new things to do in a town that is sometimes a bit limited!
