Not a huge fan of flavored teas but I’m finding this tea be an exception as I really enjoyed this one. Was drinking this one with friends and we passed around the pot after rinsing it to experience the aroma which lead to quite a few audible sounds of appreciation. So we definitely knew we were in for a treat and it held up to our expectations.

Was surprised how many steeps I could get out of this as in my experience I can’ only get 2-3 good steeps from most other flavored teas. I’d say I got 4 solid steeps along with a couple of lighter but enjoyable steeps following. Definitely a tea I’d like to have around even more when considering the price.

Just thought I’d right a quick tasting note for this one, not of of my favorites but it does have a wonderful bold taste. If anything it could possibly be a bit too strong to my taste or probably just the fact I’m not a huge fan of smoky teas. Would totally recommend this to someone who like smoky flavors and is looking for a solid green tea to drink. But as for me I’d prefer this one to be steeped with something such as mint to sort of cut the strength of it.

Yea I’d definitely have to agree, sort of regret buying so much of this. But luckily I don’t have a whole lot of it left.

This tea has a wonderful aroma but sadly has nothing to do with ducks, it just has a nice pleasant sweet fruity aroma with a bit of a roast. I used quite a bit of tea while brewing so I was able to get a ton of steeps out of this tea. It tasted quite similar to how it smelled but had a bit of pleasant bitterness. I steeped for a bit long but the tea was never too bitter and was quite smooth.

On a final note I don’t really drink much Dancong so I have a bit of trouble fully explaining the taste of this tea. But if anything I really enjoyed this tea and plan on getting more or perhaps something similar. Can totally say I’m a fan of Dancong even after only trying a few of them.

Got this tea a while ago along with a order from Yunnan sourcing, was able to try this a couple of times because of the generous sample sizes, I believe it was around 25g or so. I felt it would be a good tea to try as I have not had many lightly fermented shou pu’erh and I definitely don’t regret trying this one.

I knew it would have more of a raw taste and less of the wo dui as its not as fermented and it also has a bit of age to it. The tea brewed up nice and dark and a bit thick, it smelled like most other pu’erh but after the first sip I picked up a really pleasant sour/bitter taste which seemed to linger around for quite a while. It also had some really nice sweetness which is something I really enjoy in a pu’erh, I was also able to get a good amount of steeps from this tea. I would definitely recommend this tea for anything that might be looking for a different tasting shou pu’erh

Thanks man, still been drinking quite a lot of tea every day. Currently going through quite a bit of sample so I thought it would be great time to start reviewing more teas.

Was really happy to give this tea a try along with the Slumbering Dragon, thanks for the samples Glen and Lamu :).

This tea had a really pleasant aroma that was both sweet and vegetal and I also was able to pick up the aroma of edamame that was mentioned.

As for the taste its quite easy to realize how fresh this tea is, the first couple of steeps reminded me a bit of a fresh green tea but I was able to pick up some nice sheng flavors that became more pronounced after the first couple of steeps(was able to get a total of around 10 steeps). I was quite surprised at how smooth this tea is for being so young, but it wasn’t too flat either as it had some nice tangy/bitter flavors as well. I would definitely consider buying this cake and would say its definitely drinkable right away.

Had this sample along with a couple of others from Crimson Lotus sitting around, decided to revisit them and review them.

I think this is a really good tea which is quite easy to drink with some nice sweetness. It seems to be a good representation of a nice light pu’erh, I would definitely recommend it

It’s that sweetness that drew us to this one. Now though after being aged in Seattle a year it has improved with a nice depth.

Like the name says there are some pretty decent sized leaves that made it possible to get a ton of steeps out of it. I don’t drink a ton of loose pu’erh(usually cakes) but this one is really amazing and is one of my favorites at the moment. But I only really make it when I have time to sit down and steep it all the way out, anything else would seem a waste to me.

A very solid tea for a really good price, also quite easy to brew. It brews up nice and dark and has a pleasant sweet creamy flavor and it. Got three solid dark steeps and it was still quite enjoyable after. I would definitely recommend this one, as I am considering getting some for myself.
