2 Tasting Notes
The first time I steeped this for 2 minutes because I was afraid of the green tea becoming too bitter. It only had a very faint flavor of the chocolate and cherry. The second steep was for 3 minutes and I could taste more of the spices from the chai.
Today I made a fresh batch and steeped it for 3 minutes at 175 using my Breville Teamaker. Oh my word, so delicious! I can really taste the cherry but it’s not too sweet. The taste of the spices is very faint right now but I bet they will be stronger after a second steeping just like last time. I don’t even like chocolate or cherries but somehow this tea really works well for me. One of my favorite teas. I will be saving up to buy the collector’s tin soon.
Preparation
This tea smells amazing in the bag. Most of the reviews of Adagio say that this tastes like a blueberry muffin. I can’t seem to figure out how to make it taste that way. I’ve made it both with and without milk and sugar. I’ve played around with temperature and steeping time. It is a very good Earl Grey tea. But all I can taste is the Earl Grey. I bought the collector’s tin so I can display the artwork on my shelf. When it is empty I will probably just refill it with a plain Early Grey unless I can figure out the secret to unlocking this tea.
