Another wonderful black tea! Nice notes of cocoa, and baked bread abound in these lovely little pearls. I infused them 6 six times (all day!) I did however brew these at 180 degrees, which is slightly less than the requested temperature I believe. I was able to watch the leaves unfurl a bit each time which was really quite lovely. It was interesting to see a black tea pretending to be a green oolong. You know what I mean. Hehe.

While I do believe I got more of the green tea flavours that make up this blend in my sampling of it, I really must refer you to Tea-Sipper’s Review. I agree with it completely. It was a primarily strawberry flavoured green blend. I didn’t detect much, if any, citrus flavour at all. I was able to get a roasted green flair in my cup from the genmaicha in the blend though. I enjoyed it. Thanks Zen Tea & Tea-Sipper!

What a yummy sweet potato delight! The heaviness of flavour was remarkable so I knew I would be able to steep it many times. I got about 6 or 7 infusions before I gave out (it was bed time!) I think I could have maybe gotten another steep too.

This is nice. I taste Raspberry and lemon solidly throughout 2 steeps. I do not get any other flavour though, or anything more complex. As a simple raspberry lemon tea it succeeds . I am glad to have tried it.

There was 1 cup left of this in the tea box so I figured I might as well finish it off. A nice, malty, black tea with a light peppery flair. Initially tasted similar to an Assam, but once I hit the third steep it showed it’s Yunnan heritage.

I apologize, but I think the few cups of this that are left will be staying with me. Don’t worry though, I have plenty of tea I can replace it with! :) This tea reminds me of a slightly less wonderful version of Granny’s Cake by River Tea. Granny’s Cake is one of my most favourite teas in the world, and I only have 2 or 3 cups worth left! Also, since River Tea has gone away I have no means of ever picking up any more! :(
This tea doesn’t have the richness of Granny’s Cake, or the depth of flavour, but it does have a similarity which I find pleasant. I have enjoyed the steeps I had of this so I am very thankful to whomever added it to the tea box. Thank you so much! :)

There’s an eggy vanilla-ness to Granny’s Cake that I don’t thing G&G has. I miss RiverTea a lot. :(

I’m glad it found a nice home!

There was 1 cup left of this tea so I was grateful to have the privilege of trying the last of it. It was delicious. It didn’t have a Pu-Erh taste at all, which I really enjoyed. It tasted like a great white tea. Honeyed hay and sunshine, or moonlight I guess. I enjoyed the hints of nectarine that ended the sip. Really good. I would definitely recommend it.

(I listed peach as a flavour, but it was actually nectarine which wasn’t a option to choose.)

Really nice & rich mocha and hazelnut flavours. The mate isn’t too forward either. A nice sip. Beautiful aroma as well! I enjoyed this cup. Thank you!

I received this tea from MissB I have a horrid cold and decided perhaps this might make me feel slightly better. The silly thing is, I neglected to look this up before steeping it, because I was hurrying. I thought it was only a mate. I hadn’t the faintest clue that there was any green tea in this blend! So I brewed it as if it were a mate, and even let it steep a little longer than usual. Luckily for me it didn’t turn out half bad! I feared after finding out that it was partially green tea that it would be dreadful, due to brewing it at a much higher temp and longer time than is ideal for greens. Honestly though, that was not at all the case. It tastes only of strong lemongrass flavour with a hint of mate in back of the sip. Not bad at all. :)

Sipdown.

Retrogamer, tea enthusiast, and all around geeky gal. Let’s have a spot, shall we?

I enjoy most black, green, white, oolong (not too mineral-y), rooibos (green too), and various herbal teas. Oh, & I love guayusa. :}

My most searched for flavours include coconut, maple, melon, lychee, pumpkin, and ANYTHING reminiscent of cake. but I am open to try just about anything. I am not too fond of exceptionally fake tasting peach, grape, or lemon flavours, or Earl Grey teas either.

I have no allergies or food sensitivities.
