259 Tasting Notes
Opening a packet of Eastern Sunset is sure to make your mouth water because you’ll be hit with a fruity aroma! The flavour is more subtle though. The fruit notes are still present, but they lay beneath the general flavours of green tea, disappearing into a dry finish and light hint of citrus. I was torn on this one. It’s disappointing that the strong aroma isn’t reflected in the flavour, but it also a really tasty tea with the gentle notes that it has.
Flavors: Fruity, Grass, Toasted
This is such a weird blend! The pink steeped liquid emulates a creamy spiced scent, filled with cinnamon, nuts, fruit and coconut. Whilst the flavour is mildly fruity, sweet, earthy and unsurprisingly, has a popcorn twist. It should be great, but somehow the flavours aren’t harmonious.

IThe aroma is mouthwatering! Think sweet juicy apples! Yum! I steeped this one first; I hadn’t sipped on a flavoured green tea in sooo long and the fruity, sour notes were calling to me! The packet suggested brewing for 5 minutes at 90°C which seemed ambitious! I had a hunch that the tea would become tannic and unpleasant. Instead, I checked the website and the instructions were completely different! They were more in line with how I would normally brew a green tea and so pursued. The flavour was tasty, much of it is sweet apple. There’s the faintest ginger note, but it’s hard to find, particularly amoung the background of green tea flavours. I’d prefer a stronger ginger hit, but the fruity notes do hit the spot!

Sipping this as I type. Love an Earl Grey Creme, no matter the brand, there’s just something nice about the sweet notes of vanilla mixed with bergamot.
I’m drinking this black today, Ceylon is a bit strong and bitter, probably nicer with milk, but the bergamot is medium strength with light touches of vanilla :P

This is one of very few yellows tea’s I’ve tried. The others have been so unremarkable I can’t even recall their flavour profile. I feel like this one will stick with me though, as both aroma and flavour are an amazing combination of strong florals and deep vegetals. It’s like the perfect combination of oolong and green tea! There’s a slight astringency in the finish, but aside from that, the cup is light, refreshing and tasty!

Look at those golden leaves! This tea is beautiful and sweet! The aroma carries a satisfyingly sticky hint of plum, black treacle and raspberries. In comparison, the flavour is less abundant. The mild flavours that are short and sweet, hold a quick fruity tickle, a gentle malt and a short tannic finish. It’s certainly a treat!

It’s easy to see how this tea earned its name. Each leaf is like a cute mini samurai! Although the aroma isn’t expansive, if you get close to the cup it is fairly strong. And it smells exactly like sugar snap peas! Jade Sword is on the extreme end of vegetal, with sweet notes and astringency in the finish. Not terrible, but not my fav.

This smells like something I would hate, it’s overly floral with strong lavender that emulates out the cup. I’m a fan of lavender, but I’m not as keen on drinking it. However, I was really surprised when I found the cup to be really pleasant!
Lavender is a key notes, but its also joined by tart, earthy hibiscus, and general floral flavour and mild cooling notes.

Preparation
AThis particular herbal blend is certified as organic with an extensive ingredient lists that includes spices, herbs, florals and fruits. As someone who isn’t the biggest fan of chamomile, the smell seemed to stand out to me, combined with a herby essence.
This herbyness is transferred to the flavour which combines with a warming citrus and spiced note. However, in a surprising finish, a cooling note, similar to that created by mint, can be detected. Although I wasn’t overly keen on the top or middle notes of Winter Spice, I really enjoyed the end to each sip, bringing me back for more.

I’ll start by saying it’s a pretty looking herbal tea, with different natural hues of green, brown-y yellows and dots of contrasting pale purple. But, I dreaded tasting it. I’m quite particular about herbal tea and I’m not a massive fan of liquorice. However, owing to the name, I actually saved this for my time of the month. On occasion (thankful not always), I get pain so bad that has me doubling over. When I tried this tea, the pain was enough to turn my apprehensiveness, into a sense of longing and hope. As expected, liquorice is prominent, but in a way that it combines gently with the cloves and floral flavour. The result is a relaxing wellness feeling. The flavours aren’t my thing and I wasn’t sure if had any effect on my pain, so it’s not something I would make a regularity. It was enjoyable enough though, and worth a try!
