I went to this place when I was visiting Toronto the other day. My initial tea search in the downtown area had lead me to Teaopia, which turned out hard to get into and the employees were not nice. When we were walking up young to go to our concert, we ran into this store and man was I so pleased to find this place! It’s an interesting place, the whole place was raised up of a flight of stairs and it was all gold and rich brown themed in there, they serve candy apples and other snacks. They have jars where you smell the tea instead of a sales associate being there to wave the tea fumes into your face. I think their focus was on serving beverages instead of selling loose leaf tea.

The sales lady helped me out quite a bit and we decided that Lychee Jasmine tea would be a good choice for me and man is it delicious! I’m really pleased with this tea, it’s my favorite tea purchase as of late. The sales lady mentioned how they had really good prices on white tea too. She was really nice and polite compared the Teaopia. They had a large variety of teas, lots of flavored teas for those who like them and were different from what I was used to.

I’m pleased with this tea store and I will return to it later when I return to Toronto! When I went I was in a rush and it was in the evening, so I feel as if I only got a partial experience out of it. I’ll revisit my rating later when I get a decent visit.

These people have a very different opinion though: http://www.blogto.com/cafes/goldenmint

Maybe because my aim was loose leaf tea and went near close?

I really enjoyed the tea that I bought from this shop. It had a great environment and customer service. It was a nice quiet shop with room for some people to read the paper or chat with a friend. The store owner showed me this tea infuser that he really liked and decided it was the best out of all the tea infusers he’s used so I tried it out. It turned out to be the best I’ve used too! They have really good tastes there and I’ve only had good experiences with this store. I haven’t been around lately, but I really hope that it’s still around! The packaging and the store have really nice design and the tins they use to put the tea in are great! I really want to go back!

My favourite tea to drink is oolong. I enjoy fruity teas, that are usually white or green and I don’t like to add any milk or sweetener.
