This was surprisingly strong. I didn’t expect the flavours to come out nearly as much as they did so I was pleasantly surprised. The ginger and lemongrass lingered nicely. It’s quite smooth and creamy, which will be the coconut. Being a coconut lover I wish it came out to play more, but a lovely drop all the same.

One of the best peppermints I’ve tried. Medium-strong, very light and refreshing.

Wow, that’s a strong Bergamot! I would expect bergamot enthusiasts would love this! Personally I could take or leave it on the whole.

I went on a bit of a sampling kick and ordered 2 of the boxed Harney samplers, so I was able to compare Decaf to straight Earl Grey. On the whole I prefer Decaf. It’s significantly lighter than Harney’s Earl Grey. I haven’t tried a Lady Grey, but I’m suspicious it may fall into that category as it’s a heck of a lot lighter than Earl Grey. I thought it was lovely and it might end up being my new Earl Grey.

I was expecting this to be quite sharp, but it’s very smooth and and a little bit sweet. I’m going to have trouble picking my default black now that it’s entered the fray!

drank Apricot by Harney & Sons

A decent Apricot. It was more nutty than fruit hot I felt, but I set some aside to cool after reading reviews and I’m sure glad I did. The apricot flavor comes out a lot more cold. I would imagine this would be lovely as an iced tea.

I’m on the fence about this one. Not being a caffeine drinker the “tang” was certainly something different/a distraction. I could definitely see this being an acquired taste for me personally.

This is my first Chocolate tea and on the whole I liked it. I’m not a fan of rose, but somehow it pulled it off quite nicely, much to my surprise. That being said, the chocolate didn’t make make swoon, which, let’s be honest, is what I’m looking for. I’m reserving final judgement for my third steeping.

Bio

Time for a profile update. I’ve been on Steepster since early 2012, and my tastes have expanded since then.

I generally take my tea straight, although occasionally blacks may end up with a splash of milk if I’m after a certain comfort factor. Right now, I’m going through a black phase, although white and oolongs still remain my secret favourite children. Honeybush and Rooibos are still a case-by-case basis.

Likes: Coconut, Peach, Honeydew, Various Melons, Lychee, Nectarine, [Blood and normal] Orange, Tangerine, Berries in general, but specifically Strawberry and Raspberry, Chocolate, Pumpkin, Caramel, Pecan…

Dislikes: Licorice, Coffee, Grapefruit…

I (still) haven’t perfected a rating table as of yet, so here’s some bad tea jokes instead!
