15049 Tasting Notes
this was one of my morning cups today for the first day of work after vacation! I needed it a bunch and i’m glad i had it. I really do love this blend :) Bumping the rating up as i’ve grown to love it more and more.
So the Travelling teabox A has finally arrived after some hiccups. As a result, i’ll be sampling a bunch of teas in the near future so that I don’t actually have to add them to my cupboard but i still get to try another of “ALL THE TEAS!” I have a short list of the teas i really want to try which i’m starting with and then if there’s time i’ll try a small cup of anything else left over ;)
I picked this one to start as it seems to have had the least amount of love in terms of people taking some of it. Greens are not my preferred cup of tea but the promise of a “sweet yet slightly spicy green blend” peaked my interest.
On the whole? this isn’t a terrible tea but it’s not all that wonderful for me. It’s a rather flat blend that is lacking in a distinct taste for all that there are berries and peppercorns in here. It’s for sure not spicy (and i’m a wuss when it comes to spicy things). It comes across as being pretty damn close to just a straight up green tea, though there is a flavour there that makes that not entirely possible to say. Overall? meh. Not terrible, but not at all what i’d hoped for.
Preparation
Oh man. This smells amazing! Delicious orange and vanilla…even more delicious smelling than Della Terra’s orange cream. Brewed, this is slightly tart but the vanilla flavour is present. I died just a little honey to this one to see how that enhanced the flavour and it was delicious! This would likely be a close tie with Della Terra’s as this is more vanilla-y and closer to “real” orange, while Della Terra’s version is a bit creamier, closer to that creamsicle sweet taste. Both are delicious Nd I’m glad I have a little more of this one to play with :)
Mmmm this is an interesting blend. It smells slightly more floral than I’d like in dry form but as this brews it begins to smell exactly like pink lemonade. I tried this one as a hot brew, but I think this would likely truly shine as a cold brew. Overall, not likely something that I’d order on my own but I would drink this and/or share with someone :)
sipdown! (224) another tea from CHAroma! I’m not sure how old this one is but while it smells delicious, the tea brewed is a rather tasteless. i don’t really taste apple or the tartness i associate with granny smith apples. However, as it was just a sample i’ll hold off rating it until i can try it again :)
Sipdown! Finally starting to get organised after being away forever…budget figured out, work emails taken care of and now i can do laundry and clean..and more importantly, back up pictures, and add ALL the tea in my house in to my cupboard so i finally have an accurate picture of how bad it is (and then maybe place a small order…)
I’ve been sipping on this one most of the early afternoon, just enjoying how light and relaxing this one is. This is a tea i could drink every day without getting bored even after multiple steeps!
Sip down! Still a few hours until my guest goes to the airport so I’m not getting organized very quickly today. I have teas to add to my cupboard and things to sort out in addition to going through work emails, cleaning the house and doing laundry. Blech. On the plus side I managed to fit the new board game we bought into the existing shelves we have…though I may have to buy another shelf if we buy anymore :(
I really enjoy this oolong, after having it again, and going through a few steeps of it this morning, it is one that I would order again. It doesn’t taste like your typical toasty oolong, instead there’s a sweetness here that is not something I’ve tasted often with roasted oolongs. There’s no vegetal “oolongy” Taste to ruins things for me either. This is not an overly bold oolong, but it is a relaxing restful one that has been interesting for me to drink :)
A refreshing pu’erh ?!? Hrm…
Haha I love puerhs, there are a few I’d call refreshing :)
Totally agree, some I could drink forever.
Yup! Some of them have that minty kind of quality to them.
I think I got a sample of this with my order… I am really, really intrigued now.
I like the other one I had this week better but this one is lovely. I’m really starting to love my puerhs more and more…which is good cause I have 239847239847238476 samples to get through looks at terri
hahahaha!
wink wink…nudge nudge…Say no more… ;)
