2970 Tasting Notes
Oooh boy. The last time I reviewed this tea was four years ago. Four years! Aaaargh!
Into the work bag it went today, and now its on my desk, where it is going to get sipped down, darn it all.
I blame this reticence on my imperfect relationship to green tea. I’m never the worlds # 1 green tea fan, but as I get older I’m finding it easier to appreciate. Me of the past, however, was perfectly willing to shove teas to the back of the cupboard and ignore them for years.
Well, that stops with this cup!
I’m afraid age has taken some of the shine off of this. Its got a mellow, strawberry sort of flavor to it, but nothing special. Nothing bad, either. So I’ll get this drunk down soon enough!
The thrill of the chase! I have almost caught the bottom of the bag on this one, and am very excited.
I’ve resigned myself to the fact that I get no cake flavor at all from this- just a slightly berry ish tang. At least, with a light enough steep, it does not get too bitter.
Woke up an hour before my alarm from a work-related nightmare. Fun. Bleh.
I quite like this. I think I don’t all the way adore it (yet, anyway), but I really do like it. The flavors are blending together very well, and the scent is lovely.
Generally its a calming cup, which is a nice thing after a rough night of sleep.
The cold weather is a fleeting phenomenon in my part of the world. It hardly lasts two months, all together, and the summer weather persists.
I, however, love cold weather things. Layers? Love ‘em. The flavors of winter? Fantastic! But these two things don’t particularly jell, so I am feeling the pressure to drink more of my “cold weather” teas, before I loose my appetite for them.
This brewed up nice today. The Lapsang and the chai spices lined up to form a dimensional, interesting cup that I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope I can replicate that!
Now that I think of it, the sore throat I was flirting with last week has vanished. I shall credit my aggressive use of tea for this small victory!
This is being drunk down very fast. Its easy to get a few cups in while I’m working, as it requires no thought to either prepare or drink (not a criticism.)
And its ginger touch probably helped with that itty bitty sore throat!
Backlogged from yesterday-
This little tin has lasted me a long time, but that’s my own fault. I haven’t been drinking it as often as I should do, so its been languishing. Too bad, as its a nice little blend, with a very tasty lavender component.
I’ve got to bring this into heavier rotation.
Backlogged from the weekend.
Chocolate tea has never been my favorite. I love chocolate, I love tea, but I just can’t find the blend that really works for me. I don’t buy chocolate teas anymore, but this one was a gift.
My pot of this was more chocolat-y than cherry-ish, which is too bad. I feel if the cherry takes the fore then it might balance better. Fingers crossed
I don’t really think of myself as a poetic sort of person. I don’t find my mind constantly swooping into sonnets, or anything like that. The exception is, of course, about my bed.
I could write sonnets and odes to my bed as it was this morning, my body softly wrapped in my warm covers, my head cradled by the softness of my pillow, the perfect balance of physical comfort and mental rest. It was the sort of bed that is only ever achieved on a Monday morning, when you have to leave its perfect embrace for the cold world.
So, tea, (the other thing that I wax poetic about) is the only solution. Todays brew needed a backbone, which, fortunately this has.
It didn’t make up for having to leave the bed, really, but it made it much more bearable.
