2966 Tasting Notes
I arrived early to work, so I went to the nearest place to fortify myself with more tea. Unfortunately I wasn’t early enough to go to the really good coffee shop, with the nice selection of tea, so I had to settle for a place that has all its tea in a basket near the front, that you pick out what you want and dump hot water on it.
Sigh.
So I picked this, as I like Darjeeling, and I’d never tried this brand before.
Meh. Its drinkable, but not exciting. One dimensional and weak. Will I never find a truly exceptional Darjeeling?
Margaret’s Hope is pretty awesome, and I was only having 2nd flush! I imagine first must be wonderful! And Harney and Sons has some great ones, I think one is called Punjab? I should look it up!
If you message me your address I’ll send you the Butiki Giddhapar Darjeeling I have. I had it once and it wasn’t my kind of tea. I might have just one more cup to make up my mind about it, but I’d rather it go to someone who likes darjeeling.
Its up extra early today, as I’m housesitting and need to tend to the pets of the household, which include three cats, a parakeet, two ducks and fifteen canaries. They dont need a lot of work, but still, those canaries need to be fed!
I turn, on such a morning, to something I already know, as opposed to something new. This has a lovely orange-spice quality to it. A very pleasant cup in the morning.
Ducks! I always wanted a pet duck, but they require more space than I have. That must be fun pet-sitting for that much a variety of birds.
Its really interesting. This morning, one of the ducks (who I had been warned about) finally worked up the guts to peck at me. Fortunately I was wearing sensible boots, and it was funny, instead of painful.
He seemed very puzzled that he was pecking me, but I was not reacting in pain. Ha! I’ve been warned about you, little terror. And then he tried to escape. Nope, not today!
Have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this on my doorstep. I am trying out oolongs, and Vanilla is an excelent place to start.
Mmm, it smells like…. would it be weird if I said vanilla yougurt? Thats what I’m getting out of it. Thats how creamy it is.
I get more vanilla in the smell, and more grassyness in the taste. Ooolongs are relaxing, arnt they?
This is a very well balanced tea. The chocolate elements do not overpower the hazelnutty elements, leading to something reminicent of a fancy bonbon in a little chocolate shop.
This feels like an autumnal tea to me, like it would be fabulous to have on a chilly morning. I might keep ahold of the rest of this sample to try when it cools down some.
You know, I’ve really been meaning to try this. It sounds wonderful!
I love it. Highly recommended.
